The best Thai in Wellington hands down!. You could work on your consistency a little more perhaps don't take on so many online orders if it hurts the experience of those earing in your restaurant they really should take priority. That said we order from thai chefs once a week if we can and it's always, delicious. Keep up the amazing work chefs!. See you soon:)

Great Thai restaurant, good for take aways, or dine in, delivery easy came to pick up several times while we were there too. Attentive staff, the spicy grade on the menu is not accurate according to the waiting staff, but they'll explain to you anyways just ask away. We had prawn cakes, tiger prawn tomyum as entree and herbal crispy whole fish with homemade sauce, thai chef fried rice as main. Prawn cakes were incredible and out of our expectation, the whole fish was great just as expected. A bit shame, tiger prawn was over cooked in the tomyum soup and fried rice was not dried enough, otherwise would have been 5 stars. Medium to high price, huge portion. High chair available and staff super friendly with kids is definitely a plus, inside the restaurant was slightly warm in hot summer nights.

Very nice foos, a bit on the expensive side but with very generous portions. The Sleepy Pig entree and Sweet Piglet are amazing, as well as the mussamun curry 👌 Service was polite and very nice; they forgot one of our starters but git it sorted very fast. I would recommend it !!

Excellent service! We got a voucher for this. When we got into the restaurant, there was a sudden power cut. Dishes were limited, we only relied on tea light candles. We decided to go to another restaurant instead. Booked this place for another day (this time our voucher expired) they still honoured our voucher due to the power cut cancellation. Staff are very efficient and easy to talk to, food serving is huge and tasty. Will definitely come back

Delicious food! Beware there is a large menu that can overwhelm some. Plenty to choose for vegan and veggie alike and they are quite conscious of dietary requirements. Great price to food quantity/quality ratio. Totally recommend!

Eaten here with my other half and as part of a work function. Food is consistently excellent (and very generous portions, so be careful how much you order!). Even the menu is an experience - easily the tallest and widest menu I have ever seen; the dish names are often creative (such as ‘naughty pig’ and ‘duck in love’). Only negative comment I have is that the outside of the restaurant looks a bit tired (I wouldn’t have realised how good it was - and chosen to go of my own volition - unless I’d gone to the work function).

The mixed entree was really good. Unfortunately my main was.not really hot when served and was too cool before I finished it. My main arrived several minutes before my husbands meal , had I waited till his meal arrived mine would have been cold. Drinks service was very slow.

Delicious food. The meals came out surprisingly quick even though they were very busy. Definitely try the royal panang curry, medium heat is not too hot for the average person to handle. Such a small thing but their sticky rice is delicious as well, even liked by the person in our party who usually stays away from rice. Only drawback was the proximity to other tables and the general noise level of the place. Would not really call it an intimate place.

Definitely my favourite Thai restaurant in Wellington. The food is consistently packed with flavour and served in generous portions. The roti is some of the best I've had too. The service can be a little slow, especially if you are waiting for mains to be cleared so you can order dessert (which I highly recommend. Their mango sticky rice with mango sorbet tastes as close as you can get to the real thing off the streets of Thailand). But the food is totally worth it!

Highly recommend this place. Lovely environment, tasty authentic thai food and welcoming staff. Ordered the Thai Chefs Noodles with Crispy Pork which was devine. Will be returning very soon! One thing that we did think needed some TLC was the bathrooms which were not very clean and had a terrible odour.

High quality Thai food that is fresh and fragrant, with just the right level of heat. It had a wide selection of dishes as well, i think there would be something to please everyone's tastes. We arrived for a later evening booking and the restaurant was packed, but we were still served quickly and the staff were attentive. The only negative thing i would say was that the prices on the wine list were quite high, for what they were. But it was about the food, not the drink, which was reasonably priced. Highly recommend, haven't had better Thai food in Wellington.

Great tasting food, but service needs to be improved. They were not busy, but it took 40 minutes before they took our order, and food took a long time to arrive after that. The waitress were not proactive with service. We would always have to get her attention. It's a shame, because this Thai Chef used to be very good for service, but recent visits have not been good value. We will not be returning unless something changes.

TCRW is located at the corner of Wakefield and Blair Streets, opposite New World Supermarket. It has interesting carved wooden doors. The premise is adorned with lovely, rich colours and Thai artefacts which imparted a vibrant, exotic vibe. Service was fast and courteous, and there were just a few other customers present towards the end of lunch. The green curry (with chicken, bamboo shoots, etc.) was very good, the panang curry was the opposite. What a contrast, it was hard to believe they came from the same kitchen unless there were two very different chefs at work. The jasmine rice was quite heavy and not aromatic. The cutlery such as the spoons were noticeably larger than the norm, so they were awkward to eat with which detracted a little from the meal. Overall our dining experience was about 3.5-stars rating, with their green curry saving the day. We tried to order the coconut ice-cream dessert but it was out of stock. Perhaps that could be their pièce de résistance?

As I was about to leave, the manager came over and offered that I transfer money to her account and she pays for my food. I eat at the restaurant regularly and the food is consistently amazing. We decided we should have a Thai meal in Wellington before we headed north as we thought we might not get the opportunity to have a Thai meal in Napier which was our next destination, only to discover that the owner of the Wellington restaurant actually started his business in Napier! So glad we had our meal here though. Had to be fitted in as we hadn't booked and although our table was small it was perfectly adequate as the staff discreetly moved plates as we finished with them.

Starters and entrees were lovely. Mains around the table of 15ish were a bit average in flavour and spice. Too crowded and hot (one ceiling fan for whole dining room!) and acoustics made it really hard to hold a conversation. Staff lovely and dedicated but seemed overworked and fed up. $3.50pp BYO corkage on Blair street a draw card for students/nightclubbers etc. :)

However, this place is pretty damn close!... The musaman was very nice (such a shame it only comes in beef as the beef was really average). Still, would definitely rate it up there!

Conveniently located over Blair Street and can be easily spotted on the roadside from a moving vehicle in normal traffic. Well managed, organised and nicely maintained. Spacious and comfortable seating. Awesome interior and cosy atmosphere. Friendly, well-timed and cordial service. Efficient and helpful staff. Plentiful food options including many vegan and vegetarian ones which are clearly marked on the menu. Food is yum and well presented. Loved the Cashew Nuts With Pineapple (Thai Jasmine Rice). Table service. Offers takeaways. PayWave facility is not available at this location. Good for groups, celebrations, family, kids and catch-ups. Popular with travellers. Normally gets busy during peak hours. Could not notice wheelchair accessible seating or high chair in plain view at this location. Reservation is not required. Outdoor seating is not available. There is no dedicated parking area available although ample street parking can be found around the entrance. Entrance is not wheelchair accessible due to the stairs. Enjoyed the experience.

Excellent Thai restaurant. Baked fish amazing. They can make REAL THAI food, not Kiwi style, so you get real Thai flavours. Wine waiter very helpful too.
