Our young mum, sister and I last minute early tea time.... Enjoyed delicious and very tasty food alongside great service. Sister and I had a glass of wine each with our meal... (I did not get the glass of wine I had ordered🥂 I was offered a replacement immediately. Chose to keep to what was served. Young mum, sitting opposite from sis and I chose to have a glass of water! Our eyes were bigger than our bellies obviously...(sister and I) 2 large pizzas (both very tastingly yummy) , 2 large garlic flat breads(very good), big bowl of crinkle hot (oozingly delicious and crunchie 👏👏👏) chips, Bowl of barbecued pork belly bites, (devine) Bowl of barbecued spicy boneless chicken bites(again devine) We ended up taking almost 3/4 of meal home via takeaway boxes! We had already had a few snacks before deciding last minute to see you... dear Borough😬 😏🤭 We all enjoyed our meals and the service. Price was fairly reasonable. Thank you Borough in Tawa We may be seeing you again very soon

Had our work appreciation celebrations and used the outdoor area, loved the venue enjoyed the service by the two lovely young ladies who were more then accommodating... weather was off and on with wellington that is expected sheltered area worked a treat... we haven't heard any sour comments about our night from our guess so thumbs up from us to you.. The area is very nice but the reason I'm putting three stars is the smoothies. I ordered a mango and apple smoothie and it was horrible, first of all there was no mango taste only apple and the smoothie was water thin. I don't think it had any milk in and it just tasted like apple juice. For this alone I would do one star but the thing that brings my rating up is the pizza. We ordered the Italian sausage pizza and it may be pricey but its amazing. The flavor was beautiful and the size was very generous. The base was very well made and the toppings were also very generous. If you are going I recommend the pizza but definitely NOT a smoothie.

Wow. .had the Korean Pork Bites. Very nice. Waitress brought me a Chicken Burger after me telling her Korean Pork 3 times and her repeating back to me Korean Pork and me saying YES. "WHAT THE". ANYWAY be more than clear when ordering and I'm sure you Will really enjoy it.

We always love a nice relaxed dinner at the Borough. Great vibe and good food. The only issue we ever have and it’s every time the drinks service is painfully slow!

The service at the Borough is great, friendly staff and yummy food. If you haven't been there i recommend trying the menu, you won't be disappointed, the staff go out of their way to make it a nice experience, and kids enjoy the menu. It is nice to relax with my friend having coffee. That is my favorite time to unwind.☕☕

We visit the Borough quite regularly and every visit is such a pleasure...the staff is amazing and the food is always fantastic. From breakfast to dinner we have never been disappointed. Recently tried the chicken and waffle breakfast and boy oh boy was it absolutely mouthwatering delicious. For dinner one evening my partner enjoyed the Buffalo wings so much...yummmmy he said. What an amazing team operating this gem of an eatery.....we will go there plenty more

We dined while Wellington was at the Red Level of the Protection Framework and the experience was AWESOME! Tables were well spaced, staff were VEEERY tentative and friendly and were always busy and seen attending to guests or to spaces in the restaurant that needed fixing. Kai was YUM as. We got a selection of 5 starters and 1 main (fettucine) and we couldn't finish it (we had skipped a meal to make sure we were well hungry and still had LOADS for lunch the next day - my partner is an Army soldier so he couldn't finish his dinner either) so definitely a great place to go. This will be our new local to bring our whānau and friends for a kai instead of the ones closer to Whitby.

Amazing service, greeted on entry by positive staff, seated at our table. Note I did not have a reservation but staff were on to it and got us a table. Service was fast orders taken and drinks brought to the table quickly followed by our burgers. Food was great full of flavour. Plenty of seating options indoors and outdoors. Entrance, tables and facilities were wheelchair friendly. Good selection of beverages beer and wine selection. Parking is on the road can be busy in the weekends.

I enjoyed my meal here. I’ve multiple allergies and Matilda our waitress was incredibly helpful and went over and above. We had the fish and chips, plus a pizza. I’ve also had a burger on a different occasion which was good. It had live music (on Friday).

My favourite place to chill. With my partner or with the whole family. Great service. Had 1 unpleasant experience with my lunch, where the chicken was undercooked. But overall, it's a good place to chill.

I went to The Borough for WOAP burger and I was very impressed with the efficiency of the service. The food was nice and reasonably priced, the portion size was large. The wait staff were very friendly and happy. The only down side is that it is very noisy inside.

The staff are amazing, super friendly and helpful. The menu had a good selection and the food was fresh and tasty. The highlight of the night has to be the ice cream machine, it turned us into big kids. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy so I'd recommend making a booking to avoid disappointment

I’m June we had a terrible experience here so we returned today to try again and it was wonderful. The service was efficient , the food came quickly and was good. The atmosphere was great and we have a fabulous time. We will defiantly be going back

I've been a here a fair bit, it's a hit and miss wonder, one day the service is great the next its noon existent. One day the food is okay and then it'd s bit disappointing! It's classic great looking bar, great selection of beer but never quite cuts the mustard....just get the basics of food down bacon + eggs like just eat a good one. I think maybe just need to go try other great eats around wellington and see what your missing....like the food at the Cambridge...not the best service but food is tasty Tbay Cafe...always looking for improvement. Yummy as! Gypsy kitchen strathmore....oh yeh! Make a special that no one can resist. Best of luck I'll be back but not for long time

Tonight's experience was great. Friendly staff, service was good and the meals were great. I was a wee bit disappointed in the "vegan/vegetarian" platter as the meat platter I bought was $55 that was great. The veg one however was pretty much bread, carrot, cucumber, sundried tomatoes and hummus. This platter was $75 so not sure why the carrots and cucumber were so much more than the meat platter. Other than that it was an enjoyable evening

One of the coolest spots outside Welly that you can hangout peaceful. Two spaces, for the guys night only with tables for drinks and games and the family eating area. Loved the food and specially the garlic bread. Recommended. The staff are amazing.

I visit on my own quite late on a Thursday. It’s steak night (they looked GOOD) but I had pizza and it was a amazing - lots of toppings and plenty of cheese. They have Fortune Favours on tap so that was a nice bonus. Service was really friendly. I’d DEFINITELY come back.

Food is great BUT the service really needs work. I've been here multiple times and as soon as the order has been taken the wait staff seem to skip off and you never see them again. I can't imagine the amount of money that this business is losing on drinks orders that never get taken because the wait staff never check back in, we would have ordered multiple drinks if anyone had thought to ask and again with dessert, we waited half an hour after we had finished our main meal for someone to come back and ask and they never did so we just got up and left. Pretty sure drinks are one of the top earners for hospitality businesses so definitely something that should be spoken about and improved upon (and multiple people I have spoken to have said the exact same thing).

People who came in after us got their food before we were asked for our order. Once we had ordered the new server was polite and asked how our food was etc. Edit* Management contacted us to resolve and invited us back with a voucher. Experience was far better this time round. Had an average experience here a couple of years ago but this time it was great. Took my family out for my daughter's birthday, the staff were lovely and the food tasty. If you are ordering a main pizza for kids make sure to request they don't grind pepper on it, other than that it was great. The lemon curd dessert was the best one.

Food and drinks selection is good. I had the 3 pigs pizza which honestly was disappointing. Badly balanced and very cheap tasting, ingredients weren't the best. My partner had the chicken burger and was also not happy. The vibe is nice and the waiting is pleasant, cozy building great for quiz nights etc. Clean bathroom and a nice outdoor area. A nice place to go for drinks, however I wouldn't come back anytime soon for the food.

Dinner party of 16 adults and 4 children plus 2 in high-chairs. Good nibbles brought to the tables. Didn't have to go to the bar to get a drink. Ordering was easy and competent staff had all meals served in a timely manner so no one was half finished before others were served. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I had medium rare sirloin done to perfection. Compliments to you all. Absolutely a place to go back to. AND, the staff didn't tell us to "enjoy" or keep stopping by to ask "is everything okay?" Lovely venue. Good indoor dining area for brunch all the way to dinner, but also good outdoor area (for drinks, or for those with kids) as well as a sports bar area with a well stocked bar. Food and coffee is good, with excellent wait staff. So big brunches and burgers, but also tasty salads. Generally if an American cuisine - direction. Good catering to dietary requirement, including a range of gluten free options.

This place always has friendly service and good coffee, although a couple of times they've been slow to bring out the coffee orders. There's also no sugar in the sports bar area if you want to take your coffee in there. It's good they've split the areas into a sports bar and casual dining allowing you to choose the environment you're comfortable with.

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday with a dinner there this week and enjoyed ourselves. There were about 16 of us. The service was top notch, staff were friendly and helpful, kept checking on us and asking us what we needed, didn't wait long for the food, they even went out of their way to cut the birthday cake for us and put in their takeaway containers the leftovers. The food was tasty and delicious. Great atmosphere and setting. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. Thank you for the lovely wonderful experience.

Came for dinner. Got the 2 for 1 deal on Monday which is great value. Burger was delicious. Service was great, good atmosphere, nice sitting in the sunshine. My chocolate mousse cake didn't taste amazing, but I've had worse. Overall this restaurant deserves better than a 3.6 rating!

Went here for a mid week lunch with my wife and two young children. Staff were very friendly and attentive the moment we walked in. Outdoor area is great - toys for the kids, and it's covered so can be used if the weather is bad. Food was really good and reasonably priced. Yesterday we celebrated our mother's birthday at the Borough and it was nothing short of amazing. We planned to surprise my mum by having her friends their families arrive shortly afterwards without her knowing. The Borough team gladly went along with the plan and everything went perfectly. Throughout the night we were treated with the finest service from the whole team, mind you serving 26 people from our group, along with the rest of the diners at the same time is not an easy job to do, however that is exactly what they had done. The food we were served was also nothing short from amazing, we ordered foods from steaks, to fish, to pasta, and every one of them, we thoroughly enjoyed. The design of the venue was also great, one side catered to family dining (which is where we dined in) and the other side catered to bar-goers. They also had an area in the back for live music and a front area which would be a great spot for lunch on sunny days. If you're ever wanting to dine in a place with good atmosphere, the best service, and great food, then The Borough is where it's at. Note to the team: When we left, we didn't get a chance to thank the team, so I'll do that now. Because of your team's excellent dining experience, my mother's occasion had her, and us, joyful all throughout the night. Thank you.

Hey this is a cool place. A great bar & restaurant with plenty of space & options. It is seperated on the inside so nicely with dedicated spaces for both. Great facilities and staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Went here for the first time this weekend. If you get anything on the menu get the 3 pigs pizza with BBQ sauce, I think I went into another space time it was so good. Also the chicken wings with Buffalo sauce were insane. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent service, the staff were very attentive and cheerful. Have been for lunch many times and decided to try a dinner. My daughter ordered pork belly, which she was excited about because she loves pork but I don't so never cook it (haha). Crackling came out black and burnt. The meal would have been top notch without the crackling. Coleslaw with the steak had ?parsley in it which made it very gritty. Told the lovely server on paying and she was very thoughtful and apologetic, she even gave us a discount which was a lovely gesture.

I really like this place. We have after sports drinks here as well as family dinners. A Good range of food that suits my fussy four kids, and lots of space too. Probably the best garden bar in the Northern suburbs too...not that I've been to all the bars. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent service complements a good reasonable menu - something to please almost everyone. Reasonable selection of good quality wines and beers - the tap beers are the way to go, although if you can't live without Corona you can get one. Drinks only with pub eating catered for in the bar adjacent to the restaurant. Open Sundays, a lifesaver in this neighbourhood!!

This restaurant/bar is THE find of the year for us. How do they manage to find such friendly, helpful, lovely staff?!! Every one of those lovely girls took service to the masterclass level. The food is delicious, the service extra fast, the atmosphere fun and buzzing without being too noisy. This was our second visit to this lovely place and we intend to make it a regular stop on our way to Porirua. Can't wait to bring our friends here in summer when the windows are open and we can spill out on to the pavement. Very highly recommended.

Not a fan of the new menu to be honest, but still a good night out. Super fast service, food came out rediculous fast unlike past experiences where it was well over an hour for food and kids got served last... Which didn't end well. Some dishes need improving (wife had cauliflower salad and it was boiled and bland...), and a few options without carbs or a swappable option would go a long way. Pork belly protein was tiny compared to previous times, and had to add a lot of salt to get flavour. Halloumi chips without a carb coating too please! You don't need to coat halloumi before you deep fry it, some brands go like French fries. I'll come back again but I hope it's better next time. Left still somewhat hungry. Oh well.

The Kids menu can be very hit and miss (dont get the fish and chips or ginger beer) and the adult mains are generally underwhelming. Pizzas are good and they have a reasonable beer selection. Stopped in before the spring into Tawa festival. Had between us coffees, cheese scones and an eggs Benedict. The coffee was fairly average, not bad but didn't really stand out. The cheese scones were ok, not that cheesy and a tad dry if I am completely honest. The eggs Benedict was the stand out of the lot. Perfectly poached eggs! The service was perfect and so to were the facilities. I just think that it is a bar and dinner restaurant that is trying to do the daytime breakfast and lunch and perhaps falling a little short.

Had the Eggs Benedict and a pot of English Breakfast this morning. The FOH staff were delightful, service was very "by the book", checking on me at what seemed like standardised times, but attitude and demeanour was great, very friendly and sincere. Eggs Benedict was cooked well, hollandaise sauce made in house, a bit thinner and sourer than I prefer, but within reasonable. Eggs were on the small side, but cooked exactly right. Not a big fan of the split muffins, I feel a wholegrain toast or their sourdough may have been better. Teapot does three servings, and I didn't have to ask for more milk as I often do, proportions were great. Cooking area is viewable to the diners, chef had an uncovered beard, that said, it was tidy and there wasn't any hair in my food, so he may be being careful enough for it to not matter. Overall for the breakfast service, 4/5. If you're very hungry you must go for the full breakfasts, i.e. English or Full Veggie. For $16 it was a little smaller than I expected.
