The tiger prawns were absolutely to my taste. (Only remembered to take a photo when I was almost done.😋) And the chicken parmigiana was great. Great portion, it would be even better if the chips were cooked a bit longer. The staff was super friendly too!

The best food in wellington 😋 my children love this restaurant. The staff are so friendly very helpful and the foods are so delicious. Every dish is amazing! We've been to so many restaurants while we were in Wellington but THE GRAND is the one we love and enjoy the most and good price too.

I'm the most annoying customer being coeliac who can't have dairy and they bent over backwards to give me food options and even surprised me with chips (which I haven't had in forever) as they switched out all the oil and made fresh batch as a surprise. In Wellington for a swimming meet for teenage son, needed a good feed after, did a search for steak, The Grand came up first, booked a table online no troubles, turned up a bit early, was seated straight away.. staff were excellent, service was excellent, food was excellent.. thoroughly enjoyed everything.. will go back again without question.. They make a nice cappuccino with cinnamon, and their vegetarian breakfast was tasty. Recommended for anyone who wants breakfast and a hot coffee before starting the day.

After reading all the great past reviews I was looking forward to a lovely tender steak. Ordered a medium rare sirloin however the steak was far more rare (to the point of being very rare) than medium rare and was certainly not tender which was the most disappointing aspect. Lovely flavour mainly from the generous slice of garlic butter on top. Friendly staff & nice warm atmosphere with a superb selection of beverages & wine. Love the Grand! Nice food, good portions for a relatively low price, and good beer on tap. Beautiful chips and absolutely perfect garlic bread. Had a little miscommunication once where we asked for crumbed fish and got battered, but the staff were more than happy to replace it, and didn't make it an issue at all. Big fan

Had our lunch there while we visit Welly for a day and it was just after lunch while we were on the area. Just walk in to check it out. 3 of us all happy with our meal, very friendly staff and quick service.

Great option when you're in the mood for a steak, with options for all budgets. Go big and cheap with the 500g rump steak dinner at under $20, or splash out on a beautifully prepared bacon wrapped prime fillet, either cooked to perfection in the kitchen, or cook it yourself on the stone grill for some added fun. The friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff came around often to make sure we were all sorted. Beautiful facility in a very convenient location. And we were able to get a table at 7:30pm on a Saturday without a booking. It was just a lovely experience all around.

I love their food. I got their beef ribs last week, was tender and delicious. I got big breakfast today , really good. The staff is friendly and food came out quick. I visit them almost every week and never in wait more than 10 minutes. Highly recommend !

TG in central Courtenay Place offers meals and drinks in a lovely lounge at the front, and also in their informal, garden bar at the back. Service is fast and friendly and the ambience, warm, calm and inviting. Their lunch menu is worth exploring as the food is good and served quickly, the portions adequate and the pricing reasonable. There's plenty of seating to choose from without booking, some in private alcoves, and sufficient menu choices to please most people should you decide to drop in as a large group. Most of the dishes are accompanied by a small salad, and additionally you can order side dishes if you're a big eater, or like to share with others. Their signature stone-grills is where you can cook your own steak, etc. exactly to your liking and currently there is a special dinner offer of 2 rump steak meals for $30. TG also offers 2-for-1 meals on Monday nights and there is usually a good turn-out then. Their desserts are not too shabby either. Staff are super-efficient and congenial. Nb. there's been a chef and menu change since March, 2020.

I like it here. Its has very mixed travel reviews. It does great steak but other food seems to be less popular. If you like steak its perfect. They did however serve my steak with a fried egg on it but apart from that enjoyed it. They also have a basic kids menu.

Had the $8 breakfast and $3 coffee and was really impressed with the quality of the food and service we received. We were served quickly and by a lovely waitress and the food and coffee were brought out to us quickly. Overall a really positive experience and will definitely be coming back.

Very affordable prices with $10 jugs which was crazy! This has been the first place ever where the food was faster then expected. Food was great. Portion sizes are quite large as well so very good for your money. Staff were even better. All round great place and favorite place in Wellington by far. Blew my expectations out the door and lives up to the name "grand" will certainly be back when we return in March. Cant recommend this place enough!!

Lovely meal, lovely staff. Especially Colin, our 86 year old waiter! What a delightful man who told us he asked for a job after his wife died last year and that this was their favorite place.

After walking wellington looking for a place to eat we decided to try the grand.. we were lucky to get a table as it was a test night and restaurants were full with people watching the match on big screens. The front of staff were excellent even though they were very busy. The garlic bread was good and the Buffalo wings were to die for,, I had steak cooked to spec and my friends meal was also good. Price was unexpectedly good considering the location and quality of the meal.. will be going back when we visit wellington again

Bearded English bloke helped us 10am Wednesday. What a fantastic fella. He was warm, funny and accommodating. Put us in perfect spirit to order a second round. Beer garden was adorable and really set the mood for our whole holiday in wellywood. Because how how awesome he was, we took his advice and ventured to the new roof top bar next door for our evening

I was there only once. We were directly told we have to wait 45 mins until the food woulf be ready. I was never told that and i think 45 min would be even okay if i haven't been told. We got the stone steak and it just took 10 mins or even less. It was awesome to grill the steak to your own liking. Also it will stay warm all the time. No cold stake in the end. And if you eat directly from the stone you get this awesome taste i havr never had. A really hot piece with a great taste. It was the best stake i ever had. I will defenetly buy me one of those stones :)) the chips and the sidesalad were small but they tasted good enough you don't care anyway next to the steak :P I can't speak for any other dish the stars are only for the stone steaks.
