Reviews of Wellington Trawling - Fish And Chips

This was the first time we've been to Wellington Trawling. We ordered fish of the day with chips expecting a light meal because of the reasonable price. What we got was a simple feast. This was by far the best fish we've been served in four years, even when compared to more expensive restaurants. The fish was cooked to perfection with the thinnest, lightest crispiest batter I've found in NZ. This is definitely a venue to visit when in Wellington.

The best place to buy your fresh fish..

The best fish n chip shop in Wellington. This place is a must. They even have fresh fish to buy. Recommend to all people to try.

Great fish selection -
Could possibly do with more tartar sauce on fish burgers but overall impressed.

Got Takeaway fish'n'chips and they were so good. Best I've had in Wellington in the past couple years easily.

Hands down these folk have to be the best at what they do in the Wellington Region - WT have been an institution in the upper Cuba precinct for years and for good reason - fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked. Whether its battered, crumbed or grilled (a slightly longer wait) their fish is the best IMHO - my favourite is crumbed Blue Cod but truly any of their fish types are tasty plus because of their freshness, quality of oil, batter and ingredients used and all are served in generous sizes. Chips are very good as well. WT have a great range of fish in their display cabinet for those wanting to purchase fresh or frozen fish whole of fillets/steaks and pretty impressive range of xtras as well - my favourite being scallops to have grilled and put in with the fish. Place is always spotless, staff are very friendly, seating area very nice and airy and it's a nice place to sit and watch passers-by whilst waiting for an order - oh and parking is great with their own off-street park on the south side for customer vehicles. Always a big thumbs up from my family.

Beautiful place to buy Fish and Chips. The staff members are friendly and helpful to inform you of their products and services. Most of the time there is no waiting line. I really recommend this place to visit and enjoy the beautiful food. all the fresh fish types right in front of you, choose your species and have it cooked right in front of your eyes, fresh raw tuna, cooked snapper, plus smoked fish, raw fish and chips with salad, sauces toppings, smoked salmon this is the best, grilled fish fried battered crumbed u name it this place does it.
