Wanted to go out for lunch on a Sunday in Whakatane (to a place with table service) and stumbled across this place by accident. So pleased we did. Lovely service, food was good and it was reasonably priced. Will definitely go back there. Had the squid and jalapeno poppers, then a pizza which was delicious.

Absolutely delicious food! One of the best meals I have had in a long while. Will definitely be going back to try other meals in the menu as I had had such a hard time choosing as it all sounded so good!

I can not give enough praise to this restaurant. If you want to have a romantic dinner or host an event this is the place! Double Zero hosted my birthday last year. It was one of the most amazing nights I have ever had. Thank you so much to the staff and owners for all of your effort to host such a great event for me. Even in the middle of winter, after lockdown 2020 they managed to make a warm, welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for me. I regularly come and eat there and it is always delicious and nicely presented. Amazing service and atmosphere every single time, without fault!

This was hands down faultless experience I am one heck of a fussy guy and everything from the beautiful service to every single item on this menu was authentic and flawless I cannot recommend this place enough to the point I want to keep it a secret all to my self , 10/10 perfect

We were greeted by a very polite waitress who kindly asked for our vaccine passport, which helped me overlook the crooked table I dine at. We asked for 2 cokes and they were rapidly delivered to our table by a different waitress. Not a fan of having a relatively small tube glass with tons of ice, don't get why they want to save on coke. The Caprese salad was the highlight of the evening, very good products and nicely presented. Then came a non great bruschetta made out of cheap bread. I am on the fence with regards to the squid, good taste but a bit chewy for me. Reasonably priced and overall ok, not bad if you are in town but do not expect it to be super special. It's what you can expect from an Italian restaurant in NZ that is not high end.

We dined in late January in a family of four, but I had to write a review because the food was so good but forgot. The pizzas were awesome, some of the best pizzas we've ever had. The customer service was absolutely top notch, shoutout to the server, I think his name was Josh, making us feel awesome and he was so professional. Thanks for a great experience!

Yeah, pretty good for a quiet Monday. Had the pasta, delicious! Temperature (of the food) was a bit all over the place - pasta was piping hot on top but, they don't heat the plates - so, a dig to the bottom produced a luke warm result. Very tasty nonetheless. Slick service, interesting with the open kitchen, only minor gripecwas, it was all a bit light and bright. Otherwise, top notch.

Would definitely recommend this place. We went there for dinner this evening and were pleasantly surprised. Great attentive staff and always happy to check if we needed anything. The entrees came out quickly and were delicious, they really could not be faulted. Delicious calamari and bacon wrapped scallops. Followed by our mains shortly afterwards. The ribs were a bit dry but still a delicious meal. Great pizzas and pasta dishes

Love Love Love the food. After we have ordered we still look at the menu deciding what we will have next time. Owners and head chef are really friendly and when time allows are happy to have a chat and get to know their customers. Great experience again.

Food was absolutely delicious but service was very slow. At one point we had to go up to the bar to order more drinks because the wait staff weren’t interested. Would have loved to have dessert there but with the disinterest in checking on us we decided to call it a night - so missed out on extra money. The table beside us also commented that they weren’t pleased with how slow service was. Everything we ate was amazing, but service was not.

Food was rich with flavour and good portions. Service was awesome.

Dined in a group of 4. Ordered drinks and when we were ordering meals were advised there would a 30+ minute wait as a big party was in house and had just ordered. We said we were fine with this. A few minutes later a bottle of wine was brought to our table. We were told it was a complimentary bottle because of the delay in our meals. Our meals were all delicious. Staff were helpful and courteous. Our 2nd great experience in recent months. Thank you.

Had a great lunch here with my family. Friendly, professional service, very attentive and probably the best steak I've enjoyed in Whakatane. This restaurant has atmosphere, too, which is kinda unusual in our town. Will be back for more.

Love this place warm and beautiful inside, great staff and food is beyond delicious only took photos of two meals but we order lasagne and pizza dishes everything is served straight out of the oven the portions are huge at great prices suitable for the whole family definitely visiting again.

Truly the best pizza I've had in NZ to date!! Everything about the meal was perfect. The staff were on point professional and yet warm and friendly, The prices were well worth the high standard of the meal. Definitely highly recommend and well worth a visit when your in the whakatane area.

Lovely food and service. We go most Tuesday nights. I wish they would make the anto pasto platter for one including the ribs. Instead I just get the ribs. So good.

Just ate there Sunday 23 Feb 2020. Pizza was very very good - crust/dough was fresh and good ingredients. Pepperoni was real. Final pizza very2 good. Had the salad caprese was very good - real buffalo cheese. Creme brulee good. Chef was Fernado (real italiano) and cares about his food. Service was good but the food was king.

Superior meal (rack of lamb and the fish) Background music:- this man knows his Jazz, so the ditzy waitress mellowed into the ambience. Highest recommendation...we need this level in Whakatane

A new place in The Strand with nice setting. It is bright with combination of industrial design with naked wood furniture and small hanging garden. I had a pizza and it was great. Wood fried makes a world of difference and combine with buffalo mozzarella and you have a winner. Pizza itself is large (only one size) that may be too much for one person. I took back the leftovers (more than a half) to hotel for later. I finished it in next 30 minutes. Menu is too big and I see that as a good thing. When I get back here again I may try salad or sandwich. Stuff is friendly and open and happy to chat and still efficient at work.

This is such a lovely find for whakatane! Found this place with my husband, and being Italian we had very high expectations, but this food reminds me of home! The gnocchi is so good, and the pizza reminds me when I visited Naples to see my grandfather. Friendly staff and wonderful chef, who clearly knows the Italian cuisine 👌🏼

Lovely meal at Double Zero this evening. Friendly attentive quick service, perfect eye fillet steak, gorgeous chicken fettuccine, and delicious crepe brûlée. Looking forward to going again soon.

Service was amazing, food was good Apart from the burnt pork belly and I Must say pizzas we're a lil over cooked as well and could have done with more toppings for price paid.

Kia ora double Zero, My partner and I ordered the margarita and farmagio and It was just like what I had in Naples, tino reka(delish). My only suggestion as a follow pizza maker is the dusting off of access flour prior to shaping. That being said we truly loved the experience and will be back when we are back in whakatane :).

Great service and ambience. Pizza needs a bit more work, was a bit burnt. Traditional wood fire pizza is an excellent idea but the flavours need to be refined. Where's the NZ seafood pizza?

Fantastic traditional wood fired pizzas, I love that they use buffalo mozzarella cheese on their pizza. Good sized pizzas, very tasty... we had a margarita. Keep up the good work dble0. We’ll be back!

We had a great night tonight, I strongly recommend this place with the best Italian pizzas in the area! We ate 2 pizzas and a salad plate everything was delicious.... very good quality too👌 and also the people there was lovely I had a good conversation with the owner and her staff too so friendly they made my nigth ..thank you!, I would come back to double Zero for sure in another ocation!

Very good pizza and nice conversation with the owner. One of the few NZ places where you can get real Italian pizza, ice-cream and coffee. Worth a visit!

Just passing through and saw this wicked looking place from the outside! The smell of food coming from there was incredible! Ordered almond milk coffee and eggs with mushrooms and the best food in New Zealand yet!!! Love it!

Love Love Love this place. Great atmosphere, wonderful, friendly staff, and the most amazing food. Our new fave! Have been here a few times now, and will continue to come back and try something different off the menu each time (if we can tear ourselves away from the A+++ Ribs and Gnocchi) :-)

Just like to say thank you for such a great service. Me and my wife came in and had the garlic bread for 2, chicken fettuccine and rack of lamb and was 5 stars all around. Service was excellent, friendly, professional. We felt welcomed, comfortable and above all left full as and satisfied! I see now the trolls poor attempt reviews against you are nothing but that. Attaturk must be worried if they have to get people to illegal apply defamation to their competition.
