B. M.Pretty good sushi in downtown Whakatane for reasonable prices. You can pick from pre-made selection of sushi, rolls and other deep fried treats or made-to-order stuff from the menu which includes rolls, hot food & noodles. The rolls go for $11-14 and are pretty sizeable - one would feed all but the hungriest pair of people. There are takeaway trays for Wasabi, ginger & tiny bottles of soy sauce if you're getting food to eat at home. Sushi/sashimi purists may turn their noses up as the rolls, etc aren't traditional and have their own local flavor.
L. “.Honestly the best salmon nigiri I've ever had, it's delicious! Our whole family and all of our friends come here. I can't tell you how many times we visit this restaurant and run into someone we know and none of us even live in Whakatane lol

M. M.If you are hungry for prawns, this is definitely the place to come to. Their crumbed prawns and their dumplings are delicious. Prawns aside lol, they also have a wide range of sushi, donburri and steamed buns (pork and chicken) to choose from. The place is clean and tidy and overall a great place for lunch. I recommend you go early so that you beat the lunch rush. Awesome Niko Niko Sushi!!
