M.Had my dinner with my son during Easter break, the curry was exceptionally delicious, served in larger pots than the usual restaurant. The owner is friendly and kind, good customer service. Will definitely visit again when we travel to Whangamata. While most restaurants were closed that night, this one was still open and serving the locals and tourists. Super 👍🏻😊
K.I have been here a few times now and it consistently impresses me. The food is always delicious and AJ the owner is an outstanding host who is always smiling and takes time to recommend dishes that never disappoint. We will be back again! The crispy mushrooms is the new favourite just discovered yesterday!

P.Probably one of the best Indian restaurans we’ve eaten at. Staff were friendly, Quick and accommodating. Chef regularly checked if we were enjoying our meal. Food was absolutely amazing. Quick service and very satisfied with night out.
D.Would recommend their Hot and Sour Veg soup! You can tell that the soup has been made from scratch (some restaurants use those instant powders and stuff). The vegetables were plenty and fresh. Perfect for the cold winters. Also loved their serving style and service. The staff were very nice and the host checked in on all the customers to ensure if they were satisfied which is not something we see alot of, if you are in Auckland. Whangamata is a lovely town with a gem of an Indian restaurant that's hidden of their main road. It is a lovely cove to dine at.
A.Went there for a date. As it was only place open at 8:30 in the whole town. So glad that we went there. I have to say, by far the best Indian food i have had in New Zealand in last 7 years. Very close to authentic. Great flavours, amazing presentation, manager there was very good at his job, friendly staff. Definitely be back 😊

A.Gorgeous Indian dinner this evening at Chilli Cove and so great to enjoy a good catchup with a very good friend and my darlings first time to Whangamata. If your ever in town this is the best food, amazing customer service always checking if your ok, and how the food is and engaging with their customers. 5 stars 🌟
R.Absolutely delicious! Great presentation, flavor, feels authentic (not too creamy or oily - just right). Highly recommend the chicken tikka, also had the bhindhi (okra) and paneer patiyala, both quite good.
Dessert was good too! Loved the chocolate samosa, with one caveat - couldn’t get the taste of cumin out of my mouth! I believe they use the same samosa crust as the normal/savory ones. I’d strongly urge the team to use a crust that doesn’t have cumin, maybe sugar instead.
P.We ventured into Chilli Cove this evening, (Saturday) and experienced one of the very best examples of high quality Indian Cuisine that I ever have had the pleasure of tasting. (And I've had a few curries in my time).
This was a complete dining experience; beautifully presented menus, attentive staff, and food that sang off the plate, from the wonderful sticky scrummy cauliflower, to the sizzling plate of the chef's special lamb. We then filled up St Bernard-sized doggie bags, so that we can do the whole thing again tomorrow. A true Whangamata Treasure!
P.After having so much trouble for an hour in Tairua trying to find something worth paying for I drove to Whangamata and these guys delivered an amazing tastey meal that stayed hot my whole trip home 100 recommend dining or buying takeaway from this place front of house staff were lovely friendly and the chefs made a top notch meal I will definitely be spreading the good word and returning here again in the near future thanks guys your amazing your restaurant is a beautiful little place too five stars from me 😎🙂

S.My partner and I were very impressed with the service, food quality and delivery of Chilli Cove takeaways. The food was absolutely amazing - it was very tasty, with great portions and flavor which made us want more and more. The staff member who delivered our food was also very friendly and was bang on time (for Covid Level Three contactless delivery), which was a nice touch. We have been Chilli Cove customers for over a year now, and they continue to impress us with their food and service. We will certainly be back at Chilli Cove in the near future.
L.Chilli Cove has a wonderful range of curries, all equally delicious. Great service and reasonably prices. We went early but were glad we had made a reservation as the restaurant filled up quickly. Obviously lots of people know how good it is!

T.The food was AMAZING!!!! The honey cauliflower chilli was spectacular!!! Mild butter chicken and lamb Korma was soooooo good!!!! There was depth and it was rich, just awesome!!!! Highly recommend and I do not like spicy food!!!

J.First time visitors to Whangamata. We were going to grab Indian takeaways for tea but came across Chilli Cove that looked so inviting we decided to dine in and so pleased we did. Lovely family run business with a menu that elevates all the well known Indian dishes to the next level as well as having their own inspired recipes. My husband had the Lamb Nawabi and said it was the most tender lamb dish he has ever had at an Indian and I had the Prawn Malabari. Both dishes are a highly recommend. Lovely modern restaurant setting and warm friendly service. Would rate it as one of the two best Indian restaurants I have been to in New Zealand.

T.I was skeptical ordering Indian in a small town but was pleasantly surprised as the food is very delicious! We had a slight hiccup with the delivery order but the owner quickly rectified it plus gave us a discount. Great experience will definitely return.

K.Chilli cove is Whangamata's best kept secret no longer! Its rise amongst the array of great dining spots has put it on my top 3 sumptuous delightful dines. Beautiful authentic Indian foods, with fresh spices and flavors screaming at your tastebuds!. I thoroughly recommend the fish masala which is turned into the next butter chicken for this lover of all things spicy. You know, even on the very first time meeting the lovely staff, that your food has been prepared with love and passion. That's the secret ingredient not often found in restaurants of all calibre.Thanks team for the beautiful dinner tonight and I will see you next Wednesday!
R.we are living since 25 years in Whangamata, and the only restaurant in town we visit and we can recommend highly is Chilli Cove. Superb flavours, well chosen heat in spices (you can order from very mild to Indian Hot) and the service well trained and very friendly. If you dine in Whanga, don't miss this experience.
