Devine cuisine. Food was excellent and not sweet like some Indian restaurants are. Meals taste pretty much like they are in India and come well presented. The owner served us and he was a pleasure to talk to. Will definitely go back when we are in town again.

0MG! Friday night, long week, knackered and desperate to get home. Partner orders food by phone...too easy...and as it was my treat I planned to pay....except I'd lost my card! The manager came out, politely and beautifully understandingley, helped me work out a way to pay... and I got home with my perfect Chicken Korma and garlic and cheese Naan. Thank you so much.

Spice Guru was a real surprise. It's great. One of New Zealand's best Indian restaurants. An excellent menu, friendly, helpful staff and a good wine list. We'll be back!

Agree with the earlier reviewer about not sizzling platters but it was still very good. Ambience only average with only one other table occupied a couple of hours but the restaurant can only do so much. New maitre de was pleasant but needs training assistance. This is still one of the two best Indian eateries in Wanganui, and we will be back,and often,

Prawns tawa had 12 large prawns, gravy was tasty, but I expected hot plate to be sizzling. Standard has dropped a little. Chicken Briyani rice portion was good sized, but hey, you get what you pay for...prices a shade higher than nearby Tasty Indian.

I was starving today, and there it was before my eyes, Spice Guru. What a wonderful lunch, the staff are so pleasant, and the lunch was very tasty. Not exactly what I ordered but tasty all the same. Nearly as good as La Quattro Mexican down the road.

I moved here from the Hutt Valley in Wellington, the price for butter chicken and two naan is comparable to Chilli Masala, the only place worth going to down there. My only compaints are that there was not as much chicken as what I am used to, nor was there as much cheese and garlic in the naan. Still, it was a very tasty meal, thanks guys!
