Best Mocha-chinos in the country! Not even kidding, been to many places all over the country but hands down best Mocha I’ve ever had! Perfect balance of hot chocolate and coffee. Their food on the menu is delicious too 👍👩‍🍳

Great place for dinner when just traveling through the area. Very friendly staff, make you feel welcome. Meals were tasty and nicely presented. Thanks to the Chef. Would definitely go there again sometime.

Went in for the first table. Was greeted and seated. The staff were so welcoming and the food was great. The squid were squid chips and could of done with a lemon wedge on the side but were tender and crispy, the pork belly meal was outstanding! Could not fault any component and the jus was to die for! Had to take the caramel cheesecake away because I was stuffed. Over all a soild 9.5 outta 10 from me.

Great food set in a nice restaurant with an awesome atmosphere. Clean and tidy with super friendly staff. We will be back again.

Every time I visit Stellas its a good time. Great food with a good wide range and very friendly and helpful staff. Love the outside area and the night life scene.

A nice bar, restaurant, club space. Despite the tables being a little wonky and not a tables lit in the restaurant area. It was a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were really helpful. They have a wide range of main meals ranging from $15 to $36. They also offer several pizzas which comes in small ~$15 and large ~$23. They have daily specials which adds value in revisiting the restaurant to try another delicious dish. Their dessert menu has changing flavours as a ‘chefs special’ which cost around $13. They have a large drink list. Quite a few sprits and RTDs. They also offer a few cocktails which, mostly, costs $15. The wine list however is thin, offering one or two wines per type. There is also a vast range of nonalcoholic beverages. Teas, coffees, juices, and more. They also have a breakfast menu as well.

Friendly service, a good variety of absolutely delicious food - highly recommend the crispy chicken burger - fair pricing & clean space to enjoy a delicious meal

Stella is a great place and where I met my wife, but sorry to say the food quality has dropped in standards. Pizza garlic bread was over cooked, my greek pizza was so greasy n fat filled that it wasnt so enjoyable. Staff service always friendly and polite though.

Had a birthday lunch at Stellar yesterday. Waitress Emma was the best. Very efficient, helpful and friendly. Excellent service. Meal was exceptional- Philly steak sandwich. Will definitely be back for more .

What a fab experience, went there on Monday night for my birthday. Place was absolutely buzzing. It was steak night and busy as. My partners steak was a 300gram steak, and cooked to perfection, my Morrocan Vegetable Tagine awesome, as was the delectable Tiramasu dessert. Watching the staff, was like watching poetry in motion, a well oiled working team and excellent at what they do. I 100% recommend having your next night out here.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner. He ordered the 150g scotch fillet with mushroom sauce, an egg and fries. I had the chicken roulade with potatoes and seasonal vegetables with a delectable sauce. The staff was friendly and very professional. The restaurant has an open old English pub feel. We will definitely return next visit to Whanganui. Highly recommend.

A great experience for a team function. A private space was provided for our meal. A simple menu of scrumptious mouth watering dishes. Everything cooked to perfection and tastefully presented. Dining staff cheerful and attentive without being intrusive.

My partner and I had the clam chowder and pepper squid for entree; and pork belly and lamb shank as main. All we can say was it was delicious and worth bracing the cold weather.

Mike and I held our wedding breakfast in the function room last weekend. Jay, the events coordinator was absolutely fantastic to deal with, great communication, and an awesome barman on the night. Ryan, the head chef, created us a delicious buffet meal and offered different options for vegetarians or allergies. We couldn't fault them on anything. Thank you so much guys for helping us have the perfect day!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Our party of 6, ordered 5 different things and they were all delicious. I particularly loved their choice of modern salads with the option of adding a protein.

Needed a reservation after Carolines Boat Shed had delays on orders of 1.5hrs. So we tried Stellars who made accomodations for our late reservation request. Food and service was impeccable. My partner whos birthday we were celebrating was glad we changed restaurants. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant and our compliments to the chef for an outstanding meal.

Great steak and cold beer in a central location

Fabulous meal. The best so far on my road trip through nz. The lamb was perfect. The veges,sooooo good. If this meal was musical, itd be a symphony celebrating the warmth of summer and the comfort of winter all rolled up in a jus from heaven itself.,, was bery hungry and even though i wasnt aware of it at the time, this meal was exactly what i needed and wanted. Isnt it great when that happens!! Keep it up guys.,,sincere congrats to the chef...

Loved it. Jay was looking after us and he was an excellent host. The food was good, I had a fennel and walnut salad with teraki but could not detect a fennel flavour. The fish wasn't as nice as I thought it shld be. The tiramisu was very good. Loveky venue.

really nice meal but need to improve on customer service , called many times during week nobody answers phone left email to book got no response came in didnt get given a menu also lady forgot about my drink staff weren't even busy no excuses.

Great range of food. Our group had a side room that we could bluetooth our own music to the stereo and adjust the lighting so was great. Service a little slow but we weren't in a hurry so didn't impact us.

We went to Stellar for family dinner and I was most impressed with the food, it far exceeded my expectations. The chefs are amazing, we had four different meals and they were all of a very high standard. I highly recommend stellar as a great place to eat.

Discovered this place because two other restaurants were closed on New Year's Day. Thank goodness because we might never have ventured here otherwise. The Margherita pizza was a different take on the usual but with a thin base I enjoyed it. The hand cut chips with the tender steak were amazing. The prices are affordable, the chef has that magic touch and the staff are very pleasant. "I'll be back!"

We had a large group and help our dinner in the red room which was perfect so we could do awards etc without disturbing the other diners. Staff were great food was lovely, only negative was the length of time it took from first people getting their meal to the last person, we always expect a delay with large groups but the first people had finished their meals well and truly before last people getting these.

Two of us arrived close to 9 o'clock and we were pleased they were relaxed and welcoming. I had a Moroccan Tagine. My friend ordered Pork belly. Mine was tasty, his was too tough to cut so went and got a steak knife which made some difference but it wasn't really cooked to a good standard. My dismay was that as a smaller woman , the chairs seriously need re upholstering, the hollow seats meant my chin was about table level and I felt like a child. These chairs have been like this at least 18 months .They are very off putting and I feel management need to fix them or lose clientele.

Always clean, wait staff for the restaurant are knowledgable concerning the food and wine list. Food is well presented and always tastes good. Great atmosphere and the prices are ok.

Booked a table for 6.30. Prompt service with the order taken and food delivered piping hot on warmed plates. Correctly served. No reaching across the table. Waitress asked how the meal was when taking the plates away. Passing the kitchen, the chef asked how we were. When paying the bill the bar staff asked if we enjoyed the meal. Well done staff.

Pub grub. I had the kiwi pizza which was lovely and huge! My hubby had the venison burger which he enjoyed but thought the burger itself was overpowered by the pickles and sauce served in the bun. Reasonably priced and good beer!

Good service, great burgers, friendly staff. If you're used to European restaurants (like me), I'd say the restaurant has no atmosphere and looks empty. Especially the further you go to the back. There are just some tables in an space with no decorations. If you're local or American, you're probably used to this interior style and wouldn't notice.

Great service from staff. The medium rare steak was medium rare. Melted in my mouth. The entre was perfect pizza bread and spicy chicken bites with a secret sauce . The desert was banana split with ice cream and is big enough to share. Overall 9 out of 10. The only hiccup was when I asked if they had non alcohol beer as the owner had told me earlier in the week that they just got it in. The answer was yes but they couldn't sell it as it wasntbon the tills yet. I explained that the reason I had chosen to dine at stellar was because of the no alcohol beer option. Our main waitress who was fantastic took over and talked to the owner who was only to happy to oblige. Great staff great food great service.

Make sure to make a reservation on busy nights. Family friendly place but doesnt have that vibe, maybe just because we were the only family there and had a crying baby. Food was great ordered the chicken roulade the sauce and veges were delicious, chicken ok bit dry. Pork belly was a bit dry but yummy sauce and side salad. Ordered banana suprise which is deep fried banana and a small amount of ice cream. Restaurant is nice has big bar on the other side so can get busy with pub goers on weekends. Toilets are located on the pub side.

I have to be honest, I went mainly for the wifi. The French person working in the counter was very friendly and helpful. They had great NZ beer selection and the fat chips was really good. Didn't get to try anything else, next time!

Went in on a whim. As it was it was steak night. 2 perfectly cooked med-rare steaks. Fries/salad, rosti/ veg sides. Lovely!!!

Love this cafe. I had chicken with the most delicious sticky teriyaki sauce on it. Hubby had scotch steak cooked exactly how he likes it - would suggest less fries tho. Luckily we arrived after the Mothers Day lunch crush had finished as it had apparently been full.

Happy, friendly staff, menu is basic, but the food came out well presented, tasty and good value for money. Always a reliable place to eat and only lacking in a little more sizzle and service for drink top ups etc.

We are return customers as their menu suits a family group well. Everyone was happy with their meals except me. I ordered the curry seeking heat and flavour. Unfortunately the Chicken Tika Masala was a flavourless cream sauce on chewy chicken pieces. Couldn't have been more disappointed. Stick to their better dishes, pizza and burgers!

The ribs here are amazing! Wow, some of the best I've ever had. Good atmosphere for dinner around the fireplace and staff were friendly. Would eat there again.

We dined here on Monday night & that was fine except we weren't told of the night specials which we heard other diners being told. Also when the waitress cleared the table near us she kicked the chairs in around it and on a tile floor the noise was deafening. She could have lifted them & put them in much more quietly - we considered this uncalled for & hope she doesn't do that all the time.

We had a 21strong there. The service is second to none. We had a very fussy child. Any seasons and she can't eat. Most foods are still foreign to her. We haven't had her long and taking it slowly she still can't eat many foods. Chippies they had so I bought some to share among our children. The beautiful wahine looking after us thought it strange as the food was out. I explained. She came out with a large plates of chicken nuggets, hot chips and mini hotdogs. I tried to pay but they wouldn't have any of it. That food feed all of our younger moko and the really enjoyed it. The food we had was exquisite. We have had beautiful times at many varied restaurants. Stella is one place that will always be at the top. The food just kept coming. For a Māori family of that size to be so full. Wow. Our hostess is such a beautiful person. The bar person got raves as well. Nga mihi mo to manakitanga.

Great venue whether it be for a meal or a few beers. The meals and service are good, however can be slow if there are also a few big groups also. This has never detered us visiting again and again as the meals are great and there is a huge selection. Also a great stop for breakfast.

This is a popular busy place so book in advance. The food is worth it, though - big portions and very delicious. Be prepared for hectic service though if they are busy...

When ever I visit Wanganui I always make a booking to eat at Stellar's. They have a good varied menu and cater for all tastes. The service is always good with particular attention taken to customers requests.

As a resteraunt it's one of the few quality places left in wanganui. The chef will modify the food from what's on the menu and the sauces don't taste like they came out of a can.
