A great Italian experience. Original pastas, pizzas and other Italian influenced dishes. Simple with great flavour. The atmosphere is always as if you're in Italy. The staff are friendly and know their menu. The outside dining experience is fantastic.

Lovely meals. Great flavour. Slightly too small servings for a guy. Sticky date pudding was nice flavoured but they were very economical with the butterscotch sauce. Nice and not too crowded or noisy. Able to have a conversation without having to raise voice.

Absolutely loved it here. I have been to Amici twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner and both times the staff were really friendly and the food was great. The setting of this restaurant is amazing because you really feel like you are in Italy.

Great ambience, great food, & great service. The waitress knew her stuff, & was really helpful. Two at our table had the chicken & mushroom fettuccini. Both raved about how good it was. Another had a small meatlovers pizza. It proved to be delicious also - exactly the size indicated by the tray on the wall. I had the Smoked Chicken & Mushroom Risotto. Fantastic! The portion sizes were such that our mouths wanted more, but our stomachs were full, & could barely fit in another bite. Well done folks!

Nice looking place, but would only go if you can sit outside. Inside was very draughty, air con blowing etc. The restaurant was full and acoustics made it just about impossible to hear anything anyone said. Food was good, the gnocchi was half the size of everything else and therefore not large enough, unless your on a diet.

Strongly recommend visiting but beware Google has the location one street off, it's on Washington st.

New year's day, seemed understaffed even with the restaurant only half full, longer than usual wait, overcooked steak, poor cutlery, rest of food decent but lukewarm at best, seemed like a lackluster effort. Nice atmosphere and location though, choice of outdoor and indoor italian themed setting.

Staff were very friendly however service was poor and food was average.Would be great to have some Italian music.Also olive oil and balsamic vinegar with complimentary bread on every table in Italy, could be an authentic addition. Amici had a nice selection of Italian and NZ wines.Beautiful fire for winter.🙂

The pasta choice was a little limited. One of the staff was smoking just around the corner from our table which was unfortunate. Food was generally good although front of house staff could be more accommodating, we asked for a green salad as a side and was told that this was not possible?

After stumbling across Amici while running errands we came back around 3.30pm on a public holiday for another BLT. With two hungry boys we ordered a large pizza, calamari, mussels and a BLT. All went down quickly. Calamari was beautifully cooked, the polenta crumb is different - drier to normal batter/crumb. The tomato sauce in the mussels is amazing. A little spicy too. Yum! BLT was a winner again. We’ll be back next time we are in Whangarei.

Whangarei's own little Italy. Lovely Italian feel setting right in the heart of Whg cbd. Indoor/outdoor flow you will find on the quaint cobblestone of Quality St a fireplace to keep cozy during winter dining and a picturesque balcony equipped with water fountain during summer. Food - Most dining visits here the have been great, however there's been a couple disappointing dine ins where the pizza looked and texture resembled that of lastnights dinner thrown in microwave on high for too long! Pasta however, has always been outstanding.

Walked into to this place by chance and we liked everything about it. The staffs were friendly, our food was delivered on time, the food taste scrumptious, worth the spending (just a little pricey but it's worth it). Nice decor done to the place and good vibes from other patrons, good atmosphere overall. Nice place to go to during winter season.
