We called her on our way to cape Reinga. Great tea and coffee, including a large cappuccino which was large, and very nice. We also had a range of homemade cakes etch were excellent. We sat on the deck at the back overlooking the river, such was lovely. One of the benches we sat on read very unstable but the others were fine. Recommended for a break.

Stopped for a coffee,savory and sweet. Lovely service,seating inside and out of cafe(Unfortunately, it had rained, so outside seating was wet) No long wait for our order. 🫠💜 will definitely return.

Lovely cafe, clean, convivial, nothing too much trouble. The food was prompt and was presented and cooked very nicely. Could have sat for hours in the closed in verandah (windy day, otherwise we would have been outside), just taking in the river and the relaxed atmosphere. Would go back.

Nice cafe with great coffee and good staff. The pies are amazing. There is a lot of food to choose from. We also tried the muffins and it was really tasty. Not as sweet as most of the cakes in New Zealand. I would recommend having coffee here. Even if it’s to go you are going to get a good one.

Wonderful cafe! Delicious breakfast with great portions. Everything in their cabinet looked fresh and enticing. Very relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend stopping in.

Very Lovely service by the lady at the front. Always asking us if there was anything esle we needed was very polite as well using Sie and Ma'am. Food was very lovely i cant remember the last time i actually enjoyed a salad. Was very Nice to spend time near the water with my partner and the wild Ducks were a lovely touch being surrounded by nature. Highly recommended if your ever in Kaitaia

Great place for a coffee break, Apfel strudel was great and the custard was even better. Milkshake was also delicious, but better to be served in a glass with a bamboo straw these days, no plastic!!!

We called in for a quick bit on the way to our hotel. It was in an interesting position next to the main road and backing onto a creek. It had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The staff weren't particularly friendly and I felt a bit rushed ordering, but the food was fine... Nothing amazing but adequate. They only had one toilet which was a bit quirky, but at least there was one

You won’t want to bypass this cafe, if travelling up to cape rienga or down from there you gotta stop off at the big river cafe. My husband and I stopped there on the 18th feb 24 and this place is cute but their food is amazing. I ordered the mince on toast with fried eggs and my husband ordered the omelette with everything in it and ‘wow’ they were delicious my husband and I were very impressed. We started our lunch with a caramel latte each gotta give it to the barista “you work wonders thank you “ and compliments to the chef you defs sprinkled a lot of love while cooking our meals thank you. You guys deserve every star given to you and if there were 10 stars I’d give you ten. Sorry no photos hubby and I devoured our lunch and forgot to take photos lol

Friendly staff. Food was delicious lots to choose from for the breakfast or just a snack for the road . The terrace is a great thing if you are sick of sitting inside, even though it is close to the road the noise didn’t bother us and we could easily have nice conversation without shouting at each other .

Been going there for several ys when I go north. Started out quite small and needed upgrading. But food and service was very good and, now delighted at the changes that have occurred over the yrs. Today thecafe is beautiful decor atmosphere great. Best coffee in north.

Lovely cafe, nice place to break your journey north or south. We'd just packed up at Wagner holiday park and hadn't yet eaten. Friendly, polite service, and delicious pies. Didn't try the kitchen food, but looked good. My decaf was very good. Was pleasantly surprised by the delightful seating area out the back on the riverbank.

Good food and good price. Friendly and efficient staff. I was surprised when I walked to the back of the place and found this backyard outdoor area facing a beautiful creek. Love it! Eggs Benedict with bacon for $17. Nice coffee too!

6⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ thank you to the team at The Baker Man Cafe for your willingness to accommodate us 3 Motorbikers coming from Cape Reinga Lighthouse a bit wet and cold. Kept the coffee machine going for us and served us with a welcoming smile. You guys are awesome! If you're in the vacinity, go show them some love. The brownies are out of this world!

After the long drive, stopping into this cafe was great, BEST coffee in northland, made by great staff. Delicious fresh homemade foods. Good prices for cooked meals. Clean and tidy place with great artwork on display. A pleasant stop, I have been in a few times while staying in northland. Highly recommend if you like a well made coffee.

Packed with people... always a good sign. Just stopped for shot chocolate and chin wag with a friend. We sat out doors which was ok considering it was a cold winters day, but the ducks and view made up for it. Good, friendly service.

The food was just average really, I got a bacon and egg panini, it was made from the (what I would term the yuk bacon, round circle bacon) it's only a few more dollars for nice bacon just use less. (Sorry just a suggestion) Friendly service but average food.

We came here for fantastic coffee and often lunch most days of our 8 week caravan stay in Ahipara. Joni Jody Judy and Toria are so friendly towards all their loyal locals and us strangers. They looked after us so well. We couldn’t keep away. So sad to to leave and not have your chicken pizza, meat lovers pizza , steak and pepper pie and roast beef sandwich again till 2021!! We will dream of your fluffy light custard squares with lemon icing until we return. We love your love for cooking great food and caring about people!! Xx. Barb and Mark Ps. I’ll drop my book back to your bookshelves by the sofa reading area when I return from Taupo. 💐

Lovely service, fresh food daily eg. Pies sandwiches, slices, cakes etc Just a great little cafe to enjoy a cold or hot beverage and something yummy to eat with friends. Kid friendly options also.

Great place for mums dads and kids alike! Plenty of space outside for kids to move and feed the ducks, while adults enjoy the scenery. Good food and friendly staff.
