Ok ordered rice with duck + BBQ pork but got roast pork instead and only 4 pieces of duck (mostly fat). The fried udon with BBQ pork, chicken (special) was nicely flavoured with strong black pepper taste so overall a 4*. Portion sizes can feed you over two meals

Delicious food and affordable price.. Me and husband just arrived in Whangarei 3 days ago, and we seen this store. We pop up in and order some food. The food so yummy with affordable price for such big portion. Since then, me and hubby everytime went to the centre, always grab some food from Noodle Canteen. Also, the staff (the kitchen staff) so friendly and fun.

Many awesome meals to choose from. Recently had the duck with fried rice which was really nice. You also cannot go wrong with the Honey chicken fried noodle/rice. Oh, and the wantons are absolutely fantastic. Hot or sweet boxes are also rather nice. It's a great place to go when you can't make up your mind... Solves that problem every time.

The staff are always friendly, they serve piping hot Kai and the shop is always spotlessly clean. Bus stops in front of shop but customers still buy from noodle canteen

Prefer this shop to the one in Whangarei. Makes you hungry watching them cook. And the aroma - mmmm outta this world. Definitely be back for more. Try brisket dish next.

Stopped in for lunch. big selection of meat or vegetable dishes. Piping hot, cooked for you when you order, so super fresh. Portions are big! I struggled to get hallway through my container, so perfect for sharing.

Used to absolutely love noodle canteen but their quality seems to have gone downhill. Their honey chicken and rice was my fave dish but it had a strange taste to it last time and has put me right off. Great pork buns though.

Big clean and tidy store with seating to have your meals in no out door seating. One area in store to pick up your meal. The other is the counter to place your order. Menu displayed easy to read . Fantastic choices to choose from. Hot and spicy to mild flavours. I had the udon black pepper sauce meat combination.

Above average stir-fry actually and best of the few we have in town. A bit pricey for take-out at $14 ($17 for seafood) but the servings are large with good helpings of protein and very fresh crunchy vegetables.
