G. “. V.Long history of a hospitality spot in Whangarei District, was good to visit and have something different from the usual diet of home. I don't normally eat out, having found enjoyment and quality of life in a majority plant based diet, grown at home, so the chance for a nice Indian dish and naan bread was good. Staff were friendly too
A. T.Visiting family in Whangarei we got recommended this place.
First off communication was not the best as we placed an order online for 5.45pm pick up and they had just received the order when we got there at 5.47pm.
They made the food for us with 25/30 minutes and service by the 2 young boys at the till was alright. Could have been a more polished service, as both had hair in their face and wearing streetwear with bucket hats, and they didn't really have the communication skills to tell us about the inconvenience so they had to bring in a 3rd person.
The curries were GREAT, tasty and nice spices with yummy chicken but rice serve was quite small as it came in only one box to share, slightly bigger than the container the curries were in. We had a garlic naan and a plain and both naans were plain/no garlic, flavorless and probably not made fresh. Vegetable samosa was okay, I think this was bought too as it didn't look or taste fresh made.
Shame as the curry was good but everything else was just below average.
C. B.Not often for me to review this well but fantastic delivery, earlier than expected on a Friday night, friendly smiling delivery girl. Food was piping hot and everything from the rice to the curry to the naan was beautifully cooked. Not your average experience for Whangarei. Excellent job.

S. U.Very nice egg fried rice! Cleaned the bowl! The Tikka masala was very good aswell will definitely return. Couldn't finish the main, very adequate portions. Good value for money and very nice staff.
M. V.Not a big fan of the restaurant given its reputation around the area. Had biriyani once and it was merely some sauce mixed with rice and sprinkled with some coriander. Their curries are alright but does not taste great. Butter chicken lovers will love it because it is like every other Indian rest or takeaway in Whangarei.

N. A.I have only been twice this year but vegetarian curries ordered were tasty and their naans were good. Adequate parking but store frontage makes it difficult to know if business is open or not.

The kids do the typical butter chicken, with chicken tikka masala for me, and both are delicious with medium heat being quite tolerable for the kids... I ask for hotter and haven't been disappointed, either too tame nor hot.

I'll bring it, then we were afraid to ask for more. He scared us. He was not very pleasant, not a good look. The food was good though but you get much bigger portions and very good food and VERY FRIENDLY waiters for the same price at the Indian restaurant at Tikipunga. Sorry guys, you need to step up to the compitition....
A.Its friday night, but where do you go for an nice evening meal? Shiraz of course; in Kamo, on Kamo Road. We love walking in off the street to have our favourite dishes. Onion Bhaji for Entree, then steamed rice with Beautiful Butter Chicken, Luscious Lamb Korma and Gorgeous Garlic Naan with a glass of bottled Kingfisher beer.The owners of Shiraz are always friendly.
