V.Best fish and chips I've had (can't say if it's the best in Whitianga but it's got to be up there). Lightly crisp batter with fresh tender fish, perfectly cooked chips. Walk your meal to the beach for a classic Kiwi experience.
N.Great service, always. Very busy this time of year, especially on the weekends. Best to phone your order in as maintaining safe distancing is nigh on impossible. My meal of crumbed snapper, seasoned wedges and prawn cutlets was really good. New owners continue to provide good, friendly service and food. Thank you.
R.Biggest snapper ever , best batter I've tasted
M.We would have given 5 stars but for the second time now the spring rolls are cold. They are obviously cooked from frozen. The outside batter is pale and not crispy. The centers were cold. This can easily be fixed by adding another minute or two to the time when cooking spring rolls. Fish was perfect however. Golden crispy batter and soft fleshy fish.

L.I've been here before and will always come back when I visit my bach! The fish and chips are fantastic. The kumara fries are a great bang for buck and will feed at least 3 people! I had 2x fish of the day and 1 kumara fries. I'd definitely do 1/2 a portion of fries for just 1 person.
I was a little shocked when I was told it's $3 for a 'large' aioli sauce when the pottle was the size of a small petri dish. It baffles me that sauce costs so much and on top of that, the aioli was a let down. The large pottle should be $1.50, if that. Bring your own sauce people!
Having said that, the food is always great as I said and the service is prompt!

A.Not too bad I'm really quite finicky when it comes to fish chips the majority of it was good but I wouldn't order the crab stick sea dog again or the mussels... fresh fish cooked in breadcrumbs was yum along with the (homemade?) Tartare sauce bit pricey...
C.A bit disappointed with the burgers we had here today around 4pm in the afternoon. The fish was fresh which was great but the “salad” put in the burger was not. I approached one of the store assistants about this so she could be aware of what she was actually serving. She was quite defensive but informed me that they make the salad for the burgers in the morning and claimed they were fresh. Unfortunately, the salads out on the bench in the background would say otherwise. However the chips were cooked perfectly and we would definitely be back if we are ever in Whitianga again, maybe just not for the burgers.
D.Great menu selection and great fish batter. Portion size if you are starving is not a problem. Plenty of chips with any order that includes them, served with a big friendly kiwi smile. I'll be back in the future.

A.Omg, it's hard to find actual freshly caught fish in your fish n chips, but this place has it. They actually fillet the fish right there! Really delicious, fairly priced, friendly and knowledgeable service. Me and the kids will be back for sure. Try the smoked mussels too...yummmmmmy.
