I have been a resident of Parkwood Retirement Village for over 10 years, but when a surgeon suggested pampering following an operation I stayed at Parkwood Lodge, the care facility. It was an exceptional experience as nurses, carers and all staff were skilled and considerate. The chef and kitchen team created delicious meals with delights in between. They were nutritious, varied and suitable. The kindly attitude of everyone, whether directly involved or not, sums up four restful weeks recovering at Parkwood Lodge. And then of course there are the beautiful gardens for visual delight!

As an employee of Parkwood Trust for more than seven years, I can't speak highly enough of the amenities, management and staff - both in the retirement village and in Parkwood Lodge, our rest home and hospital care facility. There are many long term staff members (always a sign of an excellent employer), with several having accrued over 30 years service. The feedback I receive from residents on a daily basis is very positive, with many actively encouraging their friends and family members to join them. I consider it a privilege to work in beautiful surroundings as part of an organisation committed to providing such a high standard of care with the utmost professionalism.

We have been residents of Parkwood Village for more than eight years and have nothing but praise for the way the village is run. As villa residents we have found the staff to be extremely helpful if needed while excellent village activities and facilities are available where appropriate. Our observation of Parkwood Lodge is that it is very well run, with many patients and families expressing their appreciation to staff for their excellent care.

My wife and I have been residents of Parkwood for 12 years and have been actively involved in the life of the village. We love the pleasant surroundings and the caring atmosphere created by staff right up to management level. It is surprising to read the negative comments in another review. Doesn't sound like the Parkwood we know and constantly recommend to any one who asks about our experience

I have lived at Parkwood now for 2 years. I was fascinated at how the word “safe” popped into my head once I had arrived, and it has not left me. It was a sense of being surrounded by a community of care and beauty. I love my home and my garden, and the environment with all its beauty and variety - and my favourite, the swimming pool. I am so relieved to know that the nurses, all of whom seem to know us all by name, are always available with no extra charge. They are wonderful when they say, "Let me get you a doctor's appointment" or they give me a little eucalyptus to go on my hanky! I think they have special powers. The gardeners, who also seem to know us all, do all the heavy work and are free with their advice when we ask. "I would like something purple here … what do you suggest?” I am very grateful for the administrative staff and the maintenance men. Feels to me like they have all done a course in empathy, all lead by Mark Rouse, who is an amazing leader. The sense of community is great. Lots of groups to join and deep care amongst the neighbours. I feel very blessed. Marg Schrader

After considerable research we decided on Parkwood Village as our place for retirement. Now after 5years we have nothing but praise and full satisfaction with our choice. Considerable involvement with fellow residents, and staff has fully supported this view.

Parkwood staff are extremely helpful and caring. The lodge itself has great facilities and I am regularly receiving phone calls about my fathers general state of health. I would recommend this lovely facility to anyone.
