J.My son has been learning guitar with Rick for over a year, he had no any experience with guitar previously, so it was the first time he was learning guitar. Rick was very good at establishing the basics of playing guitar, picking out areas that needed to be improved on that would otherwise remain as a bad habit. Rick is specialized in teaching the "picking" style of guitar, however he is still very good at teaching the fingerpicking style of guitar. Overall Rick is a very good guitar teacher, and he is patient with beginners.
J.Highly recommend Rick Poole for any level of guitar lessons. Rick is patient, friendly and makes learning easy and enjoyable. Everything is provided and you just need to show up with a clearfile and guitar ready to go. My playing improved rapidly compared to self teaching and Rick laid out lots of tips and workouts to practice between lessons. Rick makes theory less daunting and teaches to your level of understanding - truly a perfect teacher for young or old!

J.Rick's guitar lessons were excellent! I started as a complete beginner and even after a few lessons, I was able to grasp an understanding of guitar playing, I had learnt multiple chords, as well as a whole bunch of songs! They way he taught was easy to understand, which really helped me progress quickly and to become confident at playing after a few months. I would highly recommend rick as a guitar tutor to a person of any age!
T.I had guitar lessons with Rick for about 3 years, as an adult student. He is an excellent teacher. He is very patient and his passion and interest in music really shines through. He is very genuine and has a great sense of humour. He really makes an effort to find out the music you like, so you are learning and playing the music that you enjoy, this definitely adds to the experience as a student.

They get a magic feeling of playing with others as Rick will often play along with them as they build their skill levels. Rick is a smart and sensational teacher as he is teaching skills by going through pop or classic songs rather than teaching purely boring skill. P.As a "senior" student I have found Rick's teaching style great, instead of trying to learn the more boring technical stuff Rick makes it easy by working through songs that are pitched at the right level for your ability (or lack of in my case!)
