Just had a most awesome day aboard Lion New Zealand.
A group of around 25 of us went out to watch the first day of the Americas Cup - World Series race. The race highlight being the final race between American Magic and Team NZ. A very large TV was placed on the foredeck so we could watch the TV footage as well.
However the real highlight was just being aboard this historical race boat - closely followed by an amazing Donut Dip which we had for afternoon tea.
They are taking taking bookings for charters at the start of 2021 for groups to watch the Prada Cup, so worthwhile experience if you want to get close to the action on the water.
Thanks Captain Charles, Evelien, Paul and all the crew for an excellent day out on the water!

My 3 days sailing trip on Steinlager 2 with NZ Sailing Trust was simply amazing. Crew was super professional and friendly. Highly recommended, unforgettable adventure!

Highly recommended for a day trip, particularly with upcoming America's Cup events. TV on board for racing commentary etc. Plenty of room on board to spread out. Bean bags on the forward deck are a nice touch. Both Steinlager and Lion are iconic yachts. Its a privilege to be on board.

Went Friday Night Rum racing with the NZ Sailing Trust on Steinlarger 2 - what a great crew and fun afternoon/evening we had. I throughly recommend this as an experience to all levels of sailors or those interested in learning. Fantastic to experience first hand such an iconic yacht - a very important part of NZ sailing history and the late Sir Peter Blake’s round the world endeavours !
