J.My first casual uniform high school ever, the best experience and it's used to called Seddon highschool.
C.Cannot express how amazing this school is. Talented and personable staff who are open to being called by their first names and who communicate to pupils on a equal level. By the time you graduate you'd have a friend-worthy relationship with a number of teachers (still to this day have lots of Facebook). Students are encouraged to step up to the mantle and mature early on, and there is a noticable level of maturity difference when they travel to interschool events and house parties (when you're a bit older ;) ). There is room for students to form tight friendships that will continue on for years after school ends while recieving a great education as well. I look back on my high school years with a rose tinted hue, nothing but glorious nostalgia and feelings of warmth when I remember how fantastic those years were.
H.Western Springs College is an amazing place to send kids. I am a student there and it is an awesome experience to be going through. the kids are encouraged to express them selves in many ways then one. I highly recommend sending kids there.
S.Western Springs College has been completely rebuilt; officially opened in 2020. The learning environments have been modernised to prepare students for new ways of working.
P.I don't know anyone who went to Western Springs and don't look back at those times with nostalgia.
As a foreigner, the experience was quite something. Compared to schools in Europe or North America its a bunch of individual classrooms with plenty of outdoor and open spaces that pushed us to spend more time outside and play sports with each other.
The teachers are all great, Tim teaching english, if you are still there you rock!
Its a strange peaceful atmosphere that's tough to find in other countries and the maori students are truly an example to follow in terms of contributing to the community and sharing time and knowledge between generations.

p.I wanted to go here but live out of zone and its public (mum dosent like public schools) my dad went here and he is now a millionaire so its good :)
