Amazing People! Amazing place!
5 Stars Highly Recommended
Some say a Maori university but I think to compare the Wānanga to a english scholastic model is inaccurate, misleading and a lil bit rude!
Te Wānanga is a Tangata Whenua connection and empowerment process available to ANY seeking knowledge/mātauranga and connections of these lands, Aotearoa New Zealand.
Te Wānanga offers programs and training in Maori Arts, language, Philosophies, Traditional Medicines , Performing Arts, Business Management, Mātauranga Maori, Information Management and more
...up to Doctorate levels(?)
Te Wānanga is guided by ancestral knowledge, behaviours and expectations. Non judgemental and soooo many support methods available for whatever your learning style may be.
Staff show exceptional skill in their feilds and form effective relationships with Learners, guiding them to their best results.
The facilities and campus are 1st class. Well maintained and subjected to a high cleaning roster
Pastoral care is provided so all your energy can be on your studies.
Gender specific dorms and own lockers/matress/pillow/lil light and fresh clean linen.
Primo showers/loos and a regular cleaning roster has everything "sparkling"
Nga Ringawera/Kitchen Crew are professional, practiced and very good at what they do considering the range of todays dietary intolerances and dietary lifestylers...ie Im vegetarian but Ill have bacon for breakfast, (lol) aue!
A campus gymnasium across the road with sports courts and weights room and a café.
An on-site dentist and a low key, ever present, security team..they're pretty cool!
Awesome online programs, resources and community

1. You should go there.
Start your journey...or take the next steps.
2. Ask them (...Te Wānanga) what might be right for you.
3. Take someone with you on your journey. Learning is always more fun when you can share
4. Go Hard!

I am currently studying here and love the tohu I'm on.
Lecture structure and general timetable run on a "Te Ao Maori" concept that may take time to adjust to if you are used to a traditional western university.
