Uma's cooking classes are a unique way to not only learn about Indian cuisine but also how it fits into home life and the wider culture. Uma is not only a very good cook, she is also a clear, informative and most importantly passionate teacher. Her small classes are informative and enjoyable.

I came to the course seeking to learn about cooking, but gained a greater understanding of the culture, food, and society of South India as well. Uma is a lovely, heartwarming person who has a passion for indian cooking. I learned of the differences between southern and northern Indian cuisine, and a handful of dishes which I eagerly tried out at home. Cooking with ingredients ranging from eggplant to lentils I now have some go to recipes that I can cook for friends and family. After completing the courses even the way I make rice has improved! Thank you Uma :)

This was really fun and Uma was awesome at explaining things. I am really enjoying cooking her recipes and have learnt a lot about her culture as well as cooking. Uma has a great sense of humour and we had a lot of laughs as we leant to cook.
