Best decision I ever made joining Te Maru Jiujitsu . As a first timer, Nic and the team were welcoming and more than happy to show me the ropes. Every session is well structured and caters for everyone, no matter where you are on your journey. I am hooked and can’t wait to get back on the mats.

After visiting the place a few times in the past, I had no hesitation to join as soon as I moved to Papamoa. Awesome culture, safe rolling and a top level coach with a heap of Australian and NZ competition. E mihi kau ana e te whare!

I started my Jiu Jitsu journey 6 months ago and I am so stoked I was recommended Te Maru Jiu Jitsu. Nic does an extremely good job of making everyone feel safe, respected and included regardless of experience and the culture amongst students reflects this. World class teaching mixed with a world class environment makes this sport even more addictive! Thank you Nic & Te Maru whanau!!

Been training with the team for 7 weeks now, so fairly new to Te Maru Jiu Jitsu but absolutely loving it! Awesome atmosphere. Learning so much and great music choice too 🙂 Amazing head coach/instructor Nic and just an all round great team to be a part of, everyone’s warm and welcoming and willing to help one another learn and grow in the art form.

I have trained BJJ on and off for a few years so I have been at a few different gyms. Nicks gym is solid and it has given me a whole new perspective on Jiu-Jitsu. He focusses on the foundations and it has helped my BJJ a lot in just 3 months. He incorporates kaupapa maori too which I have never come across at another gym and it feels like a whanau vibe. I highly recommend anyone joining that wants to start or evolve their Jiu-Jitsu

The kids Jiu Jitsu classes are amazing, Nic is such a great teacher and our son is building his confidence each time he comes :)
