Went on the Foraging & Wild Food trip and was so impressed with the day. Wendy organised everything to a precision, with Mike providing excellent knowledge on NZ foraging and Max cooking up a feast. Would definitely recommend to friends.

I had a choice day on the 3rd May 2021, it was going to be 'professional development' which it was but - much, much better!
You must read all of this!!
We first learnt about foraging (which I love), for natives at the top of Te Ahumairangi Hill, in the coolest little capital in the world 😉. Thanks to you Mike King of Finders eaters foraging
That was followed by sampling Mike's native spice ice cream; harekeke seed, kawakawa and lemongrass resin to name a few.
And if I thought that was enough, we were then treated to a five course 'tasting' using foraged foods prepared in front of us by Chef (Max) Gordy. More than just a tasting as I was FULL halfway through - we were so spoilt!
This day out was the brainchild of Wendy Joyce (who is just lovely) from @savour.org.nz.

A proper food adventure for the curious (cook) indeed!!
Looking forward to experimenting with 'shroom' powder, kawakawa (not the leaves!) and seaweed with my cheeses - once I've foraged- soon 😊

I went to the Persian class in October 2021. I had a wonderful afternoon, and the feast at the end was absolutely delicious. Wendy is a superb chef and host.

Our team did a private cooking class and lunch with Wendy and Maurizio as part of a team building day. We made an 8 course Persian feast. Wendy was fantastic. We couldn't get over how organised everything was - and not having to do you own dishes was a real plus. Our recipes were clear, and Wendy was so helpful, patient and fun. The day was a pleasure. And the food was delicious! We had a great time. I would thoroughly recommend Savour's cooking classes - whether you're taking a private or public class.

The foraging was informative and a lot of fun, the meal was excellent. A special experience.

With Wendy's guidance a Middle Eastern Feast was produced by the group. Definitely 10/10 for taste.
My unique learning was toasting Orzo pasta dry to brown before cooking with liquid.
So my evening was of great food and company

I loved the foraging and wild food workshop with Mike, Wendy and Max - all so knowledgeable and was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Thank you!

I absolutely loved learning the context behind Parisian picnic impressionist paintings AND getting not learn to cook and then eat a lovely French meal. Wendy’s curiosity and depth of knowledge of the subject made for such a fun and informative experience. I would love to learn more and take another course. Highly recommended!

Wendy’s cooking classes are a heady mix of non- threatening, fun recipes using easily accessible fresh ingredients, delightfully grounded, friendly professional chefs as presenters and sprinkled with little nuggets of fascinating culinary facts and useful tips which you can take away for use in your own at- home cooking. All this in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere culminating in a shared meal with other like- minded souls and accompanied by a glass of something chilled and delicious. Bon Appetit! Warning: These classes can be addictive!
