I got the original milk tea with pearls. The tea tasted good and the pearls are nice and chewy. The packaging is also super cute. The only reason why I gave it a 4 stars is because the drink was warm even tho I got regular ice, probably because I went at opening time so the pearls were still warm so I recommend not getting the pearls as soon as they open.

I've been here more than fifteen times. The tea is always good, and its served within 5 minutes almost every time. The staff are lovely and I will continue going here, for sure! My usual order is brown sugar milk tea with mixed pearls, and all the others ive tried have been nice too.

Used to love this place，but the past few time’s milk tea was not as good as before. Too many ice and taste like water. Not sure if it‘s because all new faces.

Still the best bubble tea in town! Been going to Dominion Rd one since it’s opened.

The staff at Hulucat are always friendly and helpful when I go. Shoutout to Helen for being a superstar and ever so patient with me! Will be back soon

Ordered some drinks from Hulucat on Dominion Rd before popping in for lunch at Hot & Spicy Pot on a Sunday. Their Oatmeal Milk Tea – couldn’t fault the flavour😊... Years ago and during the good old uni days, Hulucat and J’s Tea were the cool places to go for late night drinks and snacks with friends👏. Nowadays, increasing demand for Asian-style tea with tapioca pearls has seen the opening of Gong Cha, Chatime, HITEA, ONEZO, Wu Cha and the like absolutely everywhere‼️The introduction of new flavours and their refreshing versatility has helped the industry to thrive👍. Milk tea’s demographic has also expanded – it’s not just the uni students anymore, you see families with children, business people and tourists... You can’t go wrong with the classics like the Pearl Milk Tea at Hulucat and jazz it up with chewy pearls or fruit jelly; but I couldn’t resist the feeling that this NZ classic milk tea shop is trying really hard to keep up with the other milk tea chains in an increasing saturated market, but no longer has the power to command the same type of huge following🧐. At the end of the day, we all like trying new & trendy things - the milk foam drinks from Gong Cha, the use of Zealong Tea at HITEA and the tapioca mastery from ONEZO...

Definitely my favourite drinks in AKL. Visit once a week for the enjoyable drink. Taro milk tea highly recommended.

Very happy with the level of service. The staff made a small mistake with forgetting pearls in one of my drinks during a busy time - when I notified them of this error they compensated far more than I expected. There has been a recent small increase in the prices and sometimes if you go quite late they might run out of pearls. I find the mini pearls also delicious. There appears to be no surcharge on public holidays which is definitely a bonus. On my previous visit I ordered a drink a few minutes before closing time and i was very delighted to see the staff were still happy to serve me. Unfortunately on this visit I think they forgot to give me my change - so it is important to pay attention just in case. However overall I still think this is an awesome place - staff are very friendly and always treat customers well. :)

They have a lot of different flavors and combinations that you don't event know what to ask for, but they only have one size and it's really big, we were having problems to finish it even when we loved it.

They’re always really kind and fast. Gong cha has snobby people lol. These people are way friendlier

I love going to Hulucat, the girls there almost always give me service with a smile and always get my order right and are friendly even when really busy. I recommend hulucat to anybody who wants a delicious cold drink where you can choose how much sugar goes in it. Excellent!!!

Good Bubble tea. Ordered the OG bubble tea which is very hard to get wrong. I asked for extra pearls and the lady gave me double extra pearls and also charged me for it. Despite me saying id only like 1 X extra pearls. Average customer service. personally id rather drive all the way to botany and have bubble tea at the hulu cat there as opposed to coming here again.

Huge choice of drinks. All drinks I've had so far have been great and consistent quality. Recommend the taro milk tea with pearls if you're not sure what to get. Dial back the sugar if you don't like things too sweet. 50% sugar is usually pretty good.

Of all the Bubble tea (pearl tea) options available, Hulu Cat is by far the best. The staff are very efficient, and despite a line, the wait is not too long. Love coming here after a spicy meal at one of the local restaurants.

Love it! Such refreshing flavours of teas, from chilled fruity favourites to warm fuzzy ones and everything in between! Highly recommended especially after a spicy dinner to soothe the tastebuds. My favourite is the chilled Mango Lime Black tea with mixed bubbles and 25% sugar, though I believe the Lichee Black tea is their most popular.

Best Bubble Tea in Town. But the wait times and the availability of pearls sometimes disappointed me. But without a doubt go here anytime. Should have UberEats would definitely order more often if they had UberEats

Even with a long line, very fast service, delicious bubble tea. Option without ice. I always get taro or egg milk tea with big pearls. There is a bit of a language barrier sometimes. Staff seem a bit annoyed. I would be too if my main clientele were boisterous teenagers.

My favourite HuluCat location - the team here always make the most DELICIOUS rose iced tea with 50% sugar and double big pearls. Everybody is always extremely considerate, and for busy times you can call and place an order for pick-up. Also in a convenient location to other delicious food places in the Dominion Road area. My favourite!

Great selection of bubble teas at a convenient location at the main road and it closes at a relatively late time. I ordered the rockmelon milk tea with green apple jelly and it is a lowkey underrated flavor at every hulucat vendor.

Always a great place for a cool treat, service is generally pleasant, depending on time of day sometimes they run out of certain ingredients that are popular, but are helpful with suggesting alternatives. Ring ahead if you aren't feeling adventurous

Have not tried the food but the drinks are very sweet and seems to always have a lot of water. There is free WiFi and great areas for groups to come and chill so it is a great hangout spot.

Strangely a long line on a Sunday night? Was quick anyway once we ordered. Big range. Best to try a bit of everything to find your favourite combination.

It's pretty busy and has not seating there's a lot of places around it where you can take a seat, it's a little pricey too. The menu's probably the biggest in terms of milk tea though.

Normally a very good place to get good bubble tea, but the other day they gave me a black tea when i had asked for red tea.

Nice place, kids like it. Unfortunately they have too many options etc. So it becomes a bit daunting in choosing, if you are not a regular. It's a total take away, you stand on the street to order.
