Love Spotlight. They have all craft-, sewing- and bedding needs located under one roof. Their staff is amazing and always super helpful!

This is quite a huge place. The first time I went here was to have an item replaced and I was entertained with the usual courtesy and thorough explanation of what I needed to do. The arts and crafts section is really good - I can stay here for hours and leave the place with a lot of items with me! Definitely a go-to place when you are feeling crafty.

A complete makeover and is now a great place to find decent quality art and craft materials. Helpful and kind staff too, a nice place.

Manager and wife were excellent. For was delicious. Good value and atmosphere

Good place to go if you're not a specialist in any craft. A superficial stab at covering most crafts and soft furnishings, but not for those with specialized or particular requirements. You could have a lot of fun with what you can get, however.

I have visited Spotlight Albany many times and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of fabrics and materials for any dress mask or clothes designer definitely a lovely place with everything you need for arts and crafts.

I've been to a few craft stores lately, this unit of Spotlight was my first great experience. The staff that was actually keen to help! They went above and beyond to support me to find the right materials. They were also very kind to me as I'm still new in the embroidery world. It made all the difference! The inventory is very diverse and very good, the prices too. Highly recommend :)

Came here looking for some clothing dye, found it difficult to find, passed at least 4 staff members as I was walking up and down the isles, none offered any assistance. Eventually found what I was looking for, once I got to check out staff greeted me, scanned item and was pleasantly surprised to find it cheaper than listed on the shelf.

Sadly, spotlight is now a place where you don't buy anything unless it's on special. They have a good range, but you'll pay a lot more at spotlight than you will if you can find the product somewhere else. It's also very difficult to figure out the price on many items because they don't have prices labels and they may or may not be on special.

Everything you need for the home project. I browse when the store is not busy. Today I enjoyed some friendly banter with the main checkout staff near the exit - left with a smile on my face and materials for a small project.

You can get bedding, sewing machines, quilting equipment and fabric plus curtains here.

Limited stock. The one is Wairau /Glenfield is much better.

It's probably the only retail store I regularly visit where I actually would like the staff to offer their help. Check out people are always nice but rest of floor staff could totally do more.

Heaps of stock with excellent specials at present. Plenty of parking and helpful staff.

To the strange long necked creature who served me: You were very pretty, but your grey jelly skin made me nervous and the coagulated substance oozing from your lamprey mouth was a little bit disconcerting. Thank you for your service, however. It was quite excellent.

Lovely service but material was nothing spectacular. Not a whole lot of range of accessories that I needed. Maybe they are getting in more stock with change of seasons, who knows.

Some things in the knitting dept needed filling. Lots of empty spaces. Got what we needed though and staff were delightful. Pleasant place to shop.

Some of the things we wanted to purchase were not available, namely chocolate moulds etc but did pick up a lovely cushion at a reasonable price. Service was fine and it wasn't too busy inside. However hard to find parking.

Had an issue buying something in store that was only available on the website. The staff helped us get it and do a click and collect within 10 min of ordering it online.

Always love visiting Spotlight. So much I would love to buy. Bedding, Curtains, craft supplies, fabric for dress making, and curtain making etc. Great shop.

Lots of sales prices.. Which is good.. Also find some items over priced.. For e.g covered velvet coat hangers for 2 $7.00 at bunnings same coat hangers but 5 in bundle $3.95....

I love this place. Everything you could want from homeware, mats, bedding, sewing material, amazing craft products if that's your passion. Had looked everywhere for a nice wall clock. Surprised to find the perfect one at Spotlight.

It's a very well positioned business in the Albany Shopping Center with lots of parking for their clients. They have recently revamped the inside of the shop and it looks so much bigger and presents a well lit shop for a great shopping experience. Huge variety of merchandise being sold that covers anything from materials, bedding, curtains to kids party toys and knitting items to a very good cooking section. Very friendly and helpful staff makes the shopping experience so good and they will go the extra mile to assist you in finding something you are looking for. They often have interesting specials and go with the different seasons such as Easter, Valentine's day and Christmas. Will keep on shopping here.

Good but assistant a bit uncertain about measurements

The display in this store makes it easy to browse and find what you like! Also, Shannon, the staff working here, is observant and sensitive to our needs. She noticed we are buying fabric and asked if we were making a curtain. Spot on! I was surprised and said yes, and needed help. She went out by a mile to show us all the things we need to put our DIY project together. Thanks for making our day so smooth Shannon! The world needs more cool people like you

Absolutely fabulous staff, I had two different staff help me and they were both so lovely and friendly, answering my questions and making sure I understand everything that I was unsure about. It was so happy I skipped out of the store :)

Best place to go to for your party decorating goodies - kids and adults alike! Awesome place to buy the perfect fabric, to sew that special dress, curtains or maybe outdoor furniture cushions - all at fabulous prices. Keep up the great work guys!

Loads of parking and some real good bargains to be had, especially when they have "Manager Specials". Staff always friendly. The only let down is PLEASE GET YOUR CUSTOMER TOLIET SORTED !". It has been out of order for 4 weeks+ because "the key has been misplaced ". I visited store today and facilities are still "out of order", I promptly left, without purchasing anything to find another facility I could use. Yes, I did go before I left home but drove over 45mins to go shopping in Spotlight Albany (because of the many bargains to be had), where I normally spend another hour plus browsing and buying. Regards "Woolworths bladder! ".

Nice large spotlight store with complete product range available. Staff are helpful and patient. The location is very handy. Parking can be difficult to find on weekends and busy days. Some or the other deals are always on. Well recommended.

I feel like there is everything here to do with fabric and sewing. There’s curtain things, wool, and fabric. There’s even a area for things like sequins, glitter and coloured paper etc. Its really useful having everything like this in one place. When we come, we usually can buy everything we need. For example, when we want to make our own curtains. They have everything here. Curtain fabric, staff that can measure the curtain fabric, the poles, the ring things. There’s everything!!!

Love this shop. Possibly cud do better as far as staff help goes. Good selection of supplies. But the service from those ladies in store is terrible, lack of enthusiasm and have no willingness to help, would just do the bare minimum (it's my experience anyway). I will go to wairau instead, the services seems much better there.

The new look is great. Shelf height has been lowered and most aisles are now in straight lines. Far less "jams" than the previous rectangles.

Holly was amazingly helpful to us. We are out of town clients and over the phone she sourced what we were wanting, put the order together and couriered it to us. Her product knowledge and attitude was excellent. Thank you Holly for helping us out. You are an asset to Spotlight.

Fantastic shop. Please go online and see what they have in stock, to many to mention all. I promise you, make sure you have enough time to browse because once there it is difficult to leave.

It can be quite pricey for some fabrics but they are good quality, and they have a reasonably wide range. Staff are usually very friendly and helpful.

Disappointing. I went looking for knitting yarns and found many empty shelves and sign saying they'd sold more than usual during lockdown; no indication of further stock to come, even though there are plenty of NZ producers.

The extensive range of material, fabric and craft essentials for serious and lightweight DIYers at very reasonable prices (well, mostly so). Plenty of gifts, trinkets and bric-a-brac to peruse and choose from too. A good number of team members to ensure brief waiting times for service and or help. Professional, polite and helpful team members abound.
