Omg this place is a crafters black hole of money ! So of course went twice and go myself sorted for some creative endeavors! Everything from organizing my art supplies, sewing kit, candle holders aka fancy gin glasses and more!

Huge range of stock, logically laid out and reasonable prices. As a maker I could spend hours in here just thinking about how I could use what's there in my creations. With so much different stick I really appreciate items being in the right place and not randomly returned to the wrong shelves.

Awesome store with fast, friendly and efficient service! I got 2 fitted sheets and a quilted duvet set (2 pillow cases, one outer duvet) for a total of $79 during their sale saving over $250. I ordered online for pick up due to the pandemic lockdown and received e-mail and txt msg to inform ready for pick up the next day, super quick! Highly recommended, I will be back!

It is one of the bigger stores. My wife enjoys going there to get diamond dot art work as well as wool for her knitting. I like it to purchase sheets pillows bathroom towels etc. There is also a coffee shop close to it.

Spotlight is a must go shop for. Curtains. Kitchen stuff. Bedding. Birthday decoration. Sofa set accesories and many other important things. They can cut cloth sizes as per your needs. Visit spot light for Craft and Art Great staff and return policy. Awesome deals through out the year, specially during Xmas, boxing day. Trading hours photo attached.

Was ok. Difficult to find what I wanted. Eventually got some help & the staff lady who helped & served me was great. She seemed a bit rushed at first but then we got chatting & I had us both laughing in no time. My job to make someone laugh or smile in these difficult times was done.

Good service/not great but the biggest issue is there is hardly any pricing on the products. When I asked two seperate employees why there is no pricing, the give me a a rough I’ll check answer…it seems they get asked this often… there is so much I want to buy there other then my yarn but if it doesn’t have a price…I don’t pick up. Whhhhyy please tell me what the reason is as this is such a detriment to the company ???

You can usually find fabric here to suit your need. I only gave three stars because they only had a very limited amount of very common colors (red and blue) in their velvet range.

Excellent and amazing customer service was given from Shaleni from Sylvia park. She was so friendly and so helpful. She helped me with the paper patterns and fabrics. She made my shopping experience so much easier. Good to have a staff like her that knows well about their products. She helped me to get all the sewing accessories needed for my sewing as I am a very beginner. So thanks Shaleni for helping me out. Very impressed with her customer service A++++. Updated review: staff still seem very busy and aren't often seen on the floor; they are working the registers or cutting tables. However, when you're able get someone, they are helpful. The staff in the fabric section look like they could use more help with customer support that isn't fabric cutting. The queue for fabric cutting seems non existent as staff allow customers to cut the line.

Stock has increased to more usual levels with plenty of specials, although some items did not have prices displayed. I like that the store is open till 8pm on Saturday as that gives me a chance to avoid busy times. It can be busy and it then becomes difficult to effectively social distance.

Huge queues ...two amazing staff who were over worked but still courteous and friendly. An elusive manager (Naomi?) who despite being contacted at least three times to support a query failed to materialise..3/4 of an hour before my faulty item could be processed. Finally left spotlight after 1.5 hours....my life will never be the same. But Mary at the material counter you are truly all about customer service. Thank you.

Paris was incredibly friendly and patient despite the clouds of fluff billowing about the place, and the tension of a superior who was... less than pleased with the size and nature of our purchase. So massive thanks to Paris for staying cheerful and working hard. Very professional.

Was pleased to see this shop was very organised with displays especially fabrics. Prices seemed more obvious than the Hamilton spotlight (who lack this in their display). Great variety of fabrics and pleasant staff generally. The white ribbing I sadly bought when staff directed me to it was 25 dollars a metre. I then found some more suited (better stretch)on a sales table for 8 dollars per metre. I bought this also but ended up spending a lot on white ribbing. Slightly annoying but it's a big shop so they may not have realised??

Excellent Service from from a staff member at Spotlight Sylvia Park On Friday I purchased a very nice cushion and matching throw. At the check out in conversation with the cashier “Emanuel “ I mentioned that I had wanted two matching cushions but could not find a second one. Emanuel checked the Stoke on line and found that there should have been Four cushions available, she proceeded to look through the huge assortment of cushions on display but could not find another. Emanuel took my details and said she would have another look when the store was not busy. To be honest, I didn’t think I would ever hear from her again. On Sunday I got a call from Emanuel to tell me that she had found a matching cushion and that she would put my name on it and leave it at the counter for collection. Finding a matching cushion would have entailed unpacking and repacking the huge floor to ceiling, wall width, four cushion deep display. Well done Emanuel, you certainly are a star employee.....

Spotlight has friendly staff and a good generalist selection of craft supplies. Just keep in mind that you can't go directly over from Sylvia Park so take the exit before it on to mt. Wellington rd.

I have patroned this spotlight Branch many times over the years, and they have consistently had a very large range of fabrics, craft items, and everything you need to fit and furnish ones home. The only downside had been the consistent understaffing which, when I've need assistance, has frequently resulted in my wandering the store looking for staff only to generally find one who is not knowelable about the area I had been in. The level of service is generally slightly lackluster as staff always seem to be task focused rather than customer focused.

Great selection of fabrics, craft items, home furnishings, etc. The store is often very crowded so getting help can be difficult, particularly in the sewing section. As long as you know what you’re looking for and where to find it, it’s an enjoyable shopping experience. Plenty of parking on-site which makes it easier too. If you’re looking for a good selection of dressmaking fabrics though, there are better choices nearby, such as The Fabric Shop and Nick’s Fabric in Otara!

I love that this spotlight has lots of stock. I went on a yarn haul..get colours and variety. Staff where helpful. However... Isles are to small. You can only just get a trolley through. So went the cutting tables are full there is a huge road block.

This is a great store but as a sewer it is super expensive, as are all spotlight stores. It has a good variety and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I only come here for things that are on a good sale or for very specific fabrics that I can’t get anywhere else. Outside of those two categories, I would recommend Geoff’s Emporium on Dominion Road over Spotlight for fabric and sewing accessories - it is a lot cheaper.

I love shopping here. Just recently hurt from some insensitive staffs. I bought sheer curtains days before the lockdown. These are 2 pairs of curtains in the packages 200cm drop. 1 of the pack is right whilst the other is long but the packaging is the same. Obviously, I have to have it replaced. Yesterday, I was in a hurry after work excited to have it exchange only to met unhappy staffs. She told me due to covid situation replacement is not good for other customers due to the virus. Yes! I do understand, I am a nurse but am I not a customer too who deserves the right item? I was so upset! And, she goes you could have hem it?? Honestly, I thought this could be the only resort I could do, to buy what’s necessary and ready to use since I have no time. But, thank you!

One stop shop for all your craft needs. Always a great selection of Fabrice which have new cool designs frequently. You will spend a bit of time here with the selection. There is always a bit of a wait in the weekend so try the weekday if you are in a rush. Heaps of parking

First time going to Spotlight to buy a sewing machine for minor clothing repairs. The store has a great variety of fabrics and craft supplies, almost got distracted, so much products. The staff member that helped us out was friendly, she went through the trouble of trying to find the machine i was there to buy, as there were none on display and unfortunately it so happened to be that they were out if stock. She happily recommended a simliar machine which was somewhat around the same price, and happily explained the benefits and flaws of both products. Very helpful staff. They are also very knowledgable about the equipment and supplies available within the store. Definitely wouldnt have any troubles visiting again.

A great craft heaven with lots of great things, such a great range of products my only complaint is that a lot of currently stocked wool are made in china and a few in the US and some Aus wool manufactured in China. But I'm looking for quality NZ made wool thats so manufactured here and there's none :( Why is this? We're in NZ abundant in gorgeous wool yet you don't stock any local wool? Well that sux I'll buy my wool elsewhere. I'll give 5 stars if you stock more local products.

However if you need somthing in a pinch and dont mind the price for the convenience it's a great place to go.

This is a beautiful shop for the hand crafter with all sorts of the merciless materials walls fabrics threads books to name a few. It's really is limitless. I can spend 3 hours there as a time no problem

I remember coming here for Easter egg molds and got small and medium sized as well as colored candy melts. These guys have a massive selection of products which can be exciting for someone who bakes as a hobby. I would love to come back here again.

From the look of all of the flyers and banners around, they must do big sales often. Only reason I'm going for a 4 is that I think the layout could be redesigned a bit better or have more directional signage to help you find items instead of having to ask for help as you look at the daunting number of tight craft shelves. Great tyre shop. Really good people. We had a damaged tyre on back of car. They changed it to spare because they were concerned about our safety. Ordered in the tyre as it was an odd size and fitted.Great price for new tyre competitive with Auckland. Very busy but make time to help.

I love Spotlight. Spotlight Sylvia Park is very well positioned with plenty of car parking spaces. It is opposite of sylvia park and that's why you will be able to park without struggle. You can find a range of fabrics, clothing patterns, accessories, party goodies including helium balloons, arts and crafts and even homeware. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Great prices and options available.

Dont go 10mins before it closes if you work full time and struggle to get to them they will not be shy about herding you out or not letting you have something that prevents them getting out on the dot. Might be a bigger picture than them getting out .maybe they dint get paid staying longer..

Spotlight tends to be quite expensive compared to the fabric shops in Otara/Panmure, but they tend to carry a range that those shops may not have, especially in the printed, printed quilting fabrics. I buy my staples at those smaller shops instead. Layout is ok, once you're used to it you can find what you want quite easily. Most of the staff are helpful but there's an older lady at the fabrics section who is super helpful and knowledgeable. I find the prices here tends to be more reasonable only if a good sale is on.

I bought knitting needles, and some balls of yarn. There are heaps of yarn, it was very good, but not much tipes of needles. By the way, when l come here, l am always misdirected by the big red SPOT LIGHT sign.

Didnt really know much about the place and didnt know the price that was shown was for the vip club member, was only asked if i was a member and wasnt offered therefore was super confused why i was paying more than i calculated then later on after i went to go check the price and had the confimation that i needed was then told that it was offered to me when it wasnt..

I visited Spotlight to purchase some blinds. When I asked for help, I was given it obligingly. The prices were good. Overall the experience was good and easy.

Huge store with a variety for almost every craft. Only downside is that it seems to be slightly understaffed, it's hard to find someone to help you and there is always a queue at the checkout.
