Reviews of The Open Book
C.
Great little spot in the heart of Ponsonby, with friendly staff and great customer service.
Every interaction I've had with them has been really good, thank you to Erica for the suggestions on my most recent books.

Super little book shop and very friendly staff. I had books to donate and they were so easy to deal with. Plus I got a park right outside! Certainly worth a visit.

Quite a gem in this part of Ponsonby. If you love books, head on to this place! And since it's along Ponsonby road, once you get hungry there are heaps of cafes and restos to eat.

I love the adventure of finding second hand books to read... These stores are rare now so it's like finding treasure when you discover them and you walk out with a book or 3. Highly recommended by me. (If they sold coffee I'd never leave)
P. S donate your books to them if you have too many. I'm always looking for vintage Dinosaur books and encyclopedias.

Without a doubt this is Ponsonby's most hidden gem. The Open Book may look unassuming from the outside but as soon as you enter, you're treated to a tranquil haven, especially if you're a book lover.
There's 7 rooms lined with books of every genre, chairs to get comfy in, and free coffee to keep your mind sharp. My personal favorite however is the sunny backyard garden with beanbags; nothing quite like reading a good book in the sun's warmth.
Thanks for a great time!

Did you know they have a piano in their establishment? And free wifi? You can also donate your old books to them too! I wish i knew this as a student. A tranquil place to relax with a book in a quiet corner, I'd definitely recommend this to locals and tourists alike! Amazing.

A lovely place to browse. The books are in excellent condition.

So many books! And everyone there always have a smile on their face! If you like reading and enjoy searching through 1,000s of books I highly recommend it

This place is a book lover's heaven. It's in an old villa, and every room is full of books of different varieties. There are some absolute gems to be found, and because the books are second hand the prices are low. Saving the environment and your wallet! Be prepared - it's very hard to sneak in and out in just a few minutes. Time disappears in this shop.

Such an awesome place and so many books with very reasonable price. As soon as you enter you smell an old boom store with so much history. Probably the best book store in Auckland.. By far... Very far.
