What you'd expect from an Animates. Fairly knowledgeable staff in the fish section too although I still believe you're better off with a specialist place like Redwood Aquatics here in Christchurch, The Fish Room in Nelson (free shipping) or Hollywood Fish Farm (I think that's their name) up in Auckland. Neptune Aquatics is pretty awesome too, especially for plants and aquascape hard scape supplies. Great place for stuff like pet foods, dog toys, flea treatments, and have bulk well priced cat litter as well.

Staff have been pretty good here and they usually have a good selection of stuff, although last time we went there was a sale but most of the stuff was out of stock... Seemed a little disingenuous.

Great selection as always, unfortunately they're lacking a wee bit in the aquarium filtration category. All in, staff are pleasant and the quality of goods, livestock and plants is good. Definitely my prefered pet store this side of town.

Went in for a $20 item ended up spending $250 on fish tank. Really good service. This Animates is really good with their fish and their tanks. I was impressed with their knowledge. I wish we had got all our fish from them. Not all animated stores are as good as tower junction, more below: Got to be careful with other animate stores tho especially neon tetras and the cotton mouth disease. We got more tetras from 2 other stores which was a mistake, we should have got them all from tower junction instead.

Good pet store, but the layout has changed a few times over the last few months, which can be a bit confusing. Most of the staff are great. It has the standard range of pet foods, and a good selection of pet accessories and toys.

People here always ready to help , they are friendly but not over friendly which is perfect! All of them have professional knowledge in pets diet and will always choose the one your fluffy friend prefer. According to the smile one their face I can tell that they truely love the animals. Many choices of pets caring and if you thinking of add one more family member, animates have those cuties waiting for you.

I was walking into your store recently and noticed two of your staff members had lost a trolley load of dry dog food on the floor. They started throwing big bags of this food to the other side of the doorway in full view of anyone entering your store. This was not a good look for you or your staff and to think someone was now going to buy that now bag of pulverized food ( somewhat disappointing )

Expensive prices but nice store and staff. Brought some pet accessories on their big 22% off sale but elsewhere they were still more than 10% cheaper. I know stores need to make a profit and I know from experience that Animates are not the cheapest but I think being over 30% more expensive than other stores (I'm not even talking about online) is greedy bordering on offensive.

Has a wide range of animal foods and a few animals also. It has the following types of foods rabbit,chinchilla,rat ,mice ,dog ,cat, fish, turtle ,lizard and gecko foods as well as treats for many different animals also. Higher priced items than Burwood produce for e.g. which also has horse,duck and other bird foods,cages etc as well most of the foods from above however animates is opened everyday and for longer and the staff are AWESOME!!!
