Called into Ballingers Hunting & Fishing today for the first time. Initially I had an extremely helpful and friendly Chap on the phone called Hugo, nothing was too much trouble. So thank you for that. When we called instore, it was nice to have different staff members ask if we required help. But we went to the fishing department and was helped by a fabulous young man called Ben, for who nothing was too much effort. It is staff like this that makes a companies failure or success. They certainly are a credit to your store and make shopping for greenhorns like us so much easier and a pleasure. Thank you so much.

Love this place. Great stock and very helpful staff. Would highly recommend. Good parking but can be a bit of a hassle getting back out. If it's busy park in car park across the road and using the crossing islands 😁🎣

Wow, what an experience. This was the most amazing retail service we have ever had. We went to purchase a surf caster for John whose birthday was today. We were very quickly greeted by Jess and when she realised what John wanted she had no hesitation in handing the future sale over to Hamish. That is one confident but conscience sales person. He listened. He took John through his options. He made suggestions but not once was he pushy. Then once Johns decision was made he proceeded to wind the fishing line on to the reel. When we went to the checkout both Jess and Hamish thanked John for the purchase. Where did you get these wee miracles from. We both left with a smile on our faces and a spring in our step. Thank you Hamish and Jess for a wonderful experience. We will be back.

Had a mattress and cot we used for camping only a couple of times but was too noisy to use in a tent environment. Despite it being bought 12 months ago and having no receipt they took it back without question and gave us store credit. We were expecting a bit of to and fro but the staff were fantastic. Best of all in the Christchurch shop was the incline to help those trying on new footwear to get the best fit. The incline has half round logs and stones to try the grip. Big well done as this is the first shop I have seen this in.
