L.I can't believe I've never reviewed The Drawing Room! My go-to art supply store in Christchurch. I often make the long trip in (40 minutes each way for me) just to go here. Or if I'm in the city I always make up some excuse to go. I love it here! Fantastic workshops when they have them, absolutely wonderful staff, and a good range of products. The pastelmat, Pitt Pastels, and Derwent pastels used to create this pet portrait were all bought here. 😁
R.I’ve bought paint from The Drawing Room three times now, and I’ve been so impressed every time. A great range of products, very prompt, user-friendly, efficient service, and the paint tubes are always very well wrapped. I enjoy shopping on the website, and I come away every time thinking what lovely people.

P.The wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff make a good shop great; This shop is certainly a great shop! I took a trip here last week for some pens and left with exactly what I was looking for plus a heap of advice about the projects I'm working on. Local artwork showcased throughout the large well stocked shop floor from postcards to painting, inks to epoxy. Stock choices are clearly made through experience working with it give The Drawing Room all of the touches that make a good independent art shop such as this the place to go. This certainly isn't the kind of shop where you'll get scoffed out for being a novice nor met with a blank look if you ask a complex question. A great place, I think I've found my one stop shop for art supplies!

P.For oil painting not lot of product range to choose from. The Web page says they have bushes that they no longer stock. It used to be better a few years ago. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If the prices were not so high, and they had more brushes and paint brands, I would give five-star. Still one of the better art shops in Christchurch. Worth a visit.
T.Fine staff and fine materials for all of your fine art needs. I have yet to stump the guys with my specific requests for art supplies. The prices are comparable to big chain stores but the service is much better.
p.WOW! The Drawing room are amazing! Excellent prompt service in Level 3 Lockdown, they responded to my message quickly and helped out with all I needed. I highly recommend them!

R.Went to the Drawing Room for the first time and what a pleasurable experience. The staff were fantastic. They were out of an ink I wanted to purchase, so the gentleman went out the back of the shop and came back with an ink with enough in it for me to continue with my picture. A.Specialist help, friendly staff, wonderful resources...what is there not to love about The Drawing Room? Every time I pop in I find a new angle or approach for my particular relationship to paper ( amateur bookbinding) and they're always helpful. Parking's an issue if you don't get one right outside: involving circumnavigating the whole building both in and out unless you'e very much more navigationally organised than I am! but it's always worth it. I've done one of their specialist workshops ( years ago now) and that was great...highly recommended all round
