Food is excellent both days we came, coffee truly fabulous, service very efficient & friendly - even though the time waiting in line to order was about 25 minutes & the place was humming & really really busy, the staff remained friendly & polite. Atmosphere is lovely. Really enjoyed our visits.
R. S.WOW! Food absolutely fantastic. We had the French Toast and Avocado Smash. Let me start by saying I have eaten hundreds of Avocado Smash’s between NZ and Australia and i have to say Nichol’s rate as my number 1 Avocado Smash to this date. There’s a 5 star chef in the kitchen who knows exactly what they are doing!! 👏 👏 The French toast was also incredible, we have never seen anything like it. 10/10! Great service too!!
S. B.This is such a fantastic garden center. The range of the plants is very good and very healthy. We visited with a very old dog she loves to be with us but sometimes she has a accident, which happened on this occasion I approach the staff for a mop and bucket to clean up.the manager stated with a smile we will sort it. Really appreciate not to be made unwelcome. After that we received very good advice on roses and what we should buy. We took their advice, they look beautiful in our garden( i have includedphotos of finished result). On the way out we bought Xmas decorations they a very good range very reasonably priced on special. We will back. Thanks you this is our garden center and pet store of choice.
M. C.Awesome shopping for plants experience. Beautiful and competitive laid out roses and plenty of fruit tree choices. The cafe music is a little too loud for eating comfort. But otherwise, it's worthwhile to come browse at least.

Great coffee, fantastic food, buzzing with activity which shows this is THE place cor cafe style food and beverages. Got a nice “come again” from from a senior staff/chef or owner chap.
U. S.stopped at Cromwell for a couple of times and this is the first time to eat at this place. I recommend it fully because the environment, food and service are absolutely great compared with the hustle and mess at other venues I tried before. The funny thing is the paintings and Green Day music inside, a bit of out of touch as this is more like a community hub for locals. I just like it.
L.We were visiting Cromwell for the first time, and decided to have breakfast here. I'm so glad we did. This was the best food we had during our entire trip, hands down! The French toast was the best I'd ever had. Absolutely amazing! My husband had the chicken waffles and said they were delicious. The tea & smoothie we had were also excellent. Highly recommend stopping in here. We will definitely be back when we do our next roadie. Thanks for the great service.

This café is fantastic! I visited Cromwell with friends late one afternoon and found several places closed. A local recommended Nichols Café, and we were not disappointed. The friendly staff, delicious treats like kumara rolls, and a beautiful garden view made our visit unforgettable.
Two days later, I realized I’d left my favorite sunglasses behind. The team not only found them but mailed them back to me without even charging for postage! Their kindness made my day—and my trip.
Nichols Café is a must-visit in Cromwell. Thank you for your outstanding service!

E. W.My Airbnb host suggested I stop here on my trip between Queenstown and Lake Tekapo. He was so right! The cafe was bustling with locals and the food was DIVINE.
There were both breakfast and lunch offerings available to eat in or takeaway. The bakery case was also full of delicious goodies.
I had eggs Benedict with bacon and spinach, a large chai latte (eat in) and a raspberry almond tarte (to go). Total was nz$38.
The chai was one of the best I've ever had! The raspberry tarte was as good as I've eaten in Paris.
I NEVER would have thought to stop here if it hadn't been recommended.
The bathrooms were very clean and the garden center/cafe is located about an hour from Queenstown.
R. K.Coffee was great although decaf was very bitter but that may have been the beans if not used that often, plenty of seating and fast service. Treats were good, not sure about the muffins but everything else seemed fine. Didn’t get to try their lunches but they looked amazing and would have like to try some wraps.

A. C.Excellent vegan and vegetarian options! There is an entire menu for each with a selection of really nice brunch options, including salads and warm dishes. The ingredients were really fresh and the presentation was equally impressive. The espresso was burned, but otherwise the food was fabulous. The atmosphere is calm and warm and there was plenty of outdoor seating as well. Glad we found it while driving through!

Bug servings with a lot of selection (Gardeners Breakfast) Hit chocolate is good too , served with a Choc Fish and Marshmallows. Always tables free with the large sized seating area. Staff attentive and friendly. Come here frequently and never disappointed. Handy parking right outside and nice outside area to sit in the nursery or out on the grass.

First diner had Eggs Bene with bacon First diner wouldve preferred a little butter on the English muffin but I guess they are trying to cater for all tastes and not just one. Second diner ordered an Asian chicken dish. Apparently the only thing wrong with it was that it wasnt enough. Not a bad complaint to have! Service and coffee was fine.

R. A.Mel from the pet centre is absolutely lovely! We bought our fish from the shop 2 years ago and he unfortunately got quite sick. I called all the huge pet shops even the vets and it was Mel who took the time to give me solutions and was compassionate and caring. It's rare to find staff who are really passionate like Mel. She's a treasure and we can't wait to go back and meet her in person!
