N. C.It's one of those places you've got to stop and check out, more for the stories you hear from the locals than anything else. Lovely old photos and models, lovely staff, peaceful rest stop.

a.Historic Empire Hotel has the best venison pies and fries ever! Warn, cosy fire on dismal day. Great rooms upstairs too. Thanks Ross info centre for recommending it. Very friendly service there too.

A. M.Nice trail to explore the old goldfield. Plenty of information signs explaining the history of the site, take the time to read through them. The trail passes through various workings, abandoned machinery, miner's hut and a graveyard. There is even a place that you can pan for gold.

M. F.Cool place, charming owner! For can hire a shovel and pan for 10 NZD a try your luck at the historic creek, which makes you experience the hard work done here a century ago. Free museum👍☺️
