J. a. P. S.Yes I went Shopping again looking for a bag. A very lovely lady assisted me and we got chatting I had a very nice experience looking at the bags
Good variety seeing its nearly Christmas.
The department store was very busy.
Unfortunately when I went upstairs a staff member wasn't quite as helpful and while I was talking to her,
She started walking off back to the counter.
Restaurant inside
H & J Smith.
Then I went for lunch
With my Husband
And we ordered
2 x bowls of hot chips
To eat in
And 1 x meal to take away.
And a rude waitress
Gave us hot chips in a box each, instead of in a bowl.
My husband said we are eating here, and we don't want to eat out of a box, we ordered one take away meal and two - orders to eat in the restaraunt.
The waitress was adamant that the Chef said you have to eat it in a box and walked off. We were shocked
We said we don't want to eat out of a box!
Once again we were in the middle of talking to the waitress when she walked off.
Even other customers by us were commenting.
Thats strange we would be given hit chips in a box.
So Fortunately we asked to see the Chef
And explained what happened and the Chef was very apologetic
About what happened
And The Chef kindly came back a second time not only with an apology but with some sweets on the house.
The Chef was the Hero
Of the day. with
Wisdom and, great Customer service she
Saved the day for us.
Very genuinely.
Will we go back?
Of course mistakes happen . life's too short
To hold grudges
But hopefully it won't happen again.
Thats why customer service is so important it can either make or brake your
Experience.

A superb selection of ladies underwear and night attire as well as shoes and a large selection of clothing for men, sports wear etc. Upstairs the furnishing department is always worth browsing even if not buying. Curtains, Manchester, Crystal. Ornaments, kitchenware and other items for the home.
L. R.The person who helped me fit a bra was called Brenda. I shopped at 1:46 p.m. 10/11/20 and purchased 3 bras. I want to thank her for her expertise in her knowledge and obvious experience of fitting bras. Such a rare ability. In addition I found that her professional approach made me feel comfortable. She also made entirely sure that the bras fit exactly right.

J. H.Its a really nice and rather classy place to go shopping but it is super expensive.
K. C.Anna from the curtain department was extremely pleasant and helpful. She suggested and got a wrheelchair when she saw Dad struggling along with his walking frame. Shethen went and got it, and arranged care for the walking frame. In fact she was willing to bring it to the car in the shop's car park, but we didn't need her to.
The women in the menswear department were extremely knowledgeable about the stock and helpful with choice and fit.

A. B.Immaculately clean and well presented. My only criticism would be that a lot of the products here are overpriced - but there are occasionally some specials that make prices more reasonable.
M. S.We come here to eat in the up stairs cafe. They serve the usual cafe food. There are always families with children in this place. The furniture and home ware department has very nice merchandise. I bought a few pieces there. The person in charge was very helpful. When they have a sale is it really a sale. I come to this shop every time I am in Invercargill.

previous experience (3 stars) : amazing customer service in revlon and perfume department and benefit . a bit disappointed with the shiseido customer service. I use shiseido even before I move to New Zealand. I bought in h&j because its offline store so I don’t have to wait for shipping. just because I wore slippers the lady keep telling me “its expensive and more than $100” and the maybelline customer service keep following around. I think h&j must come to David jones in wellington and see how their customer service. not to judge people. David jones products even much more expensive than h&j’s products.
