Great experience a few days ago with picking out a fridge, washer and dryer. We were helped straight away, given lots of details on different options and had all our questions answered. After deciding on the models we wanted, delivery was arranged for two days later. Everything looks great in our new house, and we can't fault anything about Harvey Norman's customer service, quick turnaround and range of products.

Interesting range of reviews here. After receiving abysmal service at a Tech store in Petone I came here and yet again I questioned why I go anywhere else. It hasn't always been the case, but my recent (last 12-24 months) visits to HN in the Hutt have been beyond reproach. I can't speak for the homewares dept, but the service and attitude of the staff in the 'fun stuff' dept continues to impress. I haven't had to return anything yet, so can't speak as to how they would handle that, but credit where it's due, I think this store is on top of its game right now.

Renovated my entire kitchen last year reusing previous purchased F&P dishdrawer and Samsung fridge from HN. This time new Westinghouse wall oven and Induction hob, Robinhood rangehood & Sharp microwave. Only issue was a poor repaired factory blemish on rangehood ( totally not HN fault)..was gutted as specifically ordered appliances in stock and in NZ. (Had to wait few weeks for replacement from AU.) Having saved the wanted appliances pages on my phone, I only purchased when on special and cheaper than elsewere so overall saved over $1K all up. Dining table set another satisfying purchase last year..sales staff member dropped another $300 off the hot saleprice..no brainer. No problems since and service has always been great from HN so will continue to be a customer..

The Sales persons here are great. They actually know their products and recommendations. They approach you but not pushy. They leave you alone if you say you just want to look but keep an eye out as well and they seem to discern the right time to approach. Ive always had a good experience the 3 times ive been there even though i was just looking and comparing prices to other shops.

My wife and I went there to check out and possibly buy a new refrigerator. Certainly a big ticket item. We had sussed out the models online, but were still not sure which to buy; the F&P or the Samsung. Eventually the wife decided on the F&P since.it was slight bigger than the Samsung. Being previous owners of a F&P, this model, fit perfectly. Though it must be said that the door was the same height, the compartment was about 8cm(?) shorter than the model we were replacing. Still, of the two it had plenty of shelf holders, and a freezer drawer. All known quantities for us. The staff member sized us up very well and gave advice on buying options. All-in-all a pleasant buying experience.

Had a great experience buying some new furniture through Daniel at Harvey Norman Lower Hutt. Dan mostly left us to our own devices while looking at our options, which was a welcome change from the usual furniture salespeople who often pressure you into making a decision. We also received a great discount on our purchase. The furniture was in stock and was delivered promptly, but unfortunately one of the pieces were faulty through no fault of Harvey Norman or the delivery company. Harvey Norman quickly arranged a replacement piece for delivery the next day. We'd highly recommend this store to anyone looking for some new furniture for their home!

Thanks to Eddie and to Jonathan at Whiteware Dept Harvey Norman LH. Eddie explained the advantages of the Bosch Dryer that I was interested in which I appreciated and bought. A week later I returned to buy the Bosch Washer n Jonathan explained its features very clearly, and assured me that it is safe to get the Home Connect App onto my phone to connect my new appliances to should I encounter problems. Appreciated their helpful n efficient service.

Good store with good ranges, service between departments vairies greatly and product knowledge varies. Staff tend to guess when they are not sure and this is obvious when you ask a question and you know the answer and the response you get is not what you expect. I find it is necessary to do this until you find the appropriote person knowledgible in the area of interest.

Excellent Service ! I would highly recommend. My mum bought a oven from here after asking for her money back from Noel Leeming Lower Hutt who after a month still had not delivered her oven. The guy we dealt with was very informative, not pushy and very helpful. They even offered to pick up my mums old stove for free which was a bonus and we didn't have any other means to do this ourselves.. I will definitely buy from this store again.

Definitely do not bring your elderly father here, as you won't get around half the things that you want to do at this store. Instead, make sure you have the idea of what you want to get first and then see if it's suitable. Definitely not ask 50 questions about TV brands by an indecisive old man. For a large selection of furniture in the Wellington area, Harvey Norman in Lower Hutt or Porirua is pretty much the only choice. They also have very decent ranges of TVs and household appliances, and okay ranges of laptops, other electronics and peripherals. We have bought appliances large and small over the years, TV, laptop and most recently a lounge suite, and have been looked after well by floor staff. Kinda typical hit and miss delivery service, but I will certainly continue to buy from them, as everyone else's delivery service is the same or worse. Not the cheapest, but they do have great sales.
