Great selection of cheese. Too many to choose from! Our favourite is the Vintage Five Forks goat + cow blend. So delicious! You can’t miss this place in Oamaru. There are signs pointing to this place (from the highway). We ordered the cheese platter with cold cuts and coffee for our “brunch”. We also bought scones for takeaway as we were driving north. They also have cheese tours and we might’ve done it too, if we had the time. They have limited edition and “rare” cheese selection that can only be bought from this shop. Staff are nice and friendly. Spacious inside and toilet is clean. A must visit in Oamaru!

I was looking forward to returning here after visiting 2 years ago and it was still very good. Really tasty scone and cheese with high quality tea. Great selection of cheeses in the shop. My only disappointment was that the platters were not available. At least I have an excuse to come back in the new year!

Decent in store cheese options. The store is a cafe style so you can have a cheese platter with wine, or probably a coffee break. The cheese platter is a good price I would say. 14 dollars and you can taste 5 kinds of fresh and local cheese (April 2021).

Excellent cheese & great local Pinot Noir to accompany our $40 platter. Highly recommend getting the $40 platter for lunch. The $14.50 tasting platter is good if you just want a small taste of selected cheeses. Well worth a visit.

Make sure you check this place out - fantastic cheese! The tasting with wines was amazing - such a nice pinot gris was on offer. Get yourself the wooden cheese knives on offer too. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Didn't arrange a tour but we wished we did

Love this place and the cheese rolls are yummy, lots of cheese and toasted to perfection. Whitestone cheese are fantastic to shop with as I often buy online and the cheese is with me less than 48 hours. Great considering we are rural. Eco friendly packaging now with wool insulation too. Well done Whitestone.

Stopped offf for the coffee, stayed for the cheesboard! Best made coffee in a long time. I would absolutely recommend the cheesboard to accompany the coffee. This is a must do on any visit to or though Oamaru.

What a way to finish the A2O trail! 👌 Had the most amazing wine and cheese platters here. The staff were lovely and really knowledgeable in all the different varieties, what to start with, etc. Would definitely visit again. Thanks ladies!

Perfect service - thank you..! I buy online as we live over 100km away - not only do they produce and sell delicious premium quality artisan cheese, but they have fast and secure delivery too. On my last order one of the items was missed but upon phoning yesterday the correct item was despatched and received without fuss this morning - along with a "little bit extra" - one of the best ways to judge a company is by their follow up customer service when things go wrong... and this couldn't have been handled better. Hi. We went here for the tour of the factory. Our guide Daisy was very knowledgeable and very informative. she answered our questions and explained the process very well. The tasting was great and the goody bag had cheese in it. Had a great time there.

Best place to try or buy Oamarus locally made Whitestone cheese. And you might be able to get a factory tour to see it being made. Its a great place to visit. The Cafe offers famous (to South Islanders and those from other places with discerning taste buds) Cheese Rolls. As well as coffee and teas and such. There is of course a huge range of their cheeses in different packages and sizes for sale. As well as cheese there are other things to buy as well to complement your next cheese board. They also usually have a caravan at the Sunday farmers market and have a small subset of the full range of cheeses available here.

The first time I went to the Whitestone Cheese shop was 3 years ago, I must say, just like their Blue Cheese, the cafe only gets better with age! Every time I pop in for a coffee whilst heading north it just seems to get more fantastic every time. Furthermore, the cafe has a great selection of cheese tasting options. A must is the Lindis Pass Brie!

Will be enjoying our cheese buffet for days😊

Whitestone Cheese is an emblem of New Zealand cheese making. I've been a customer since they began selling their remarkable cheese. I always have it at home for family and friends. It's delicious. In 2015 their Livingstone Gold was awarded a gold medal. It's semi soft and somewhat salty. Delicious.

Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and the cheese board was just spectacular.

Suuuuuuperb cheese. Highly recommend their blue cheese. Actually never had a better blue cheese. Camembert cheese also very strong game. Unfortunately these were the only two I tried. Would have bought every single one if a could. Would have got a belly ache though, being that there was only three days left of my trip. Should be the flagship of kiwi cheese. Deserves the crown.

I was really excited to find a highly rated cheese shop while on my NZ south island trip. I had assumed that there would be delicious cheese aplenty in NZ but apparently I was mistaken. That's not to say this place didn't have decent cheese. The few we tried in store were certainly acceptable. Of the two we walked away with, one was pretty good and the other was pretty meh. Side note: the staff here were pretty uninterested in their job. I don't need people to be overly friendly at work but the lady who explained the cheeses for sampling looked pretty miserable. I'll do my research before I head back to NZ in search of cheese.

I am very impressed with their vintage cheese range and do try the seed crackers, it's been a hit with my guests! It's not cheap cheese but it's more of a speciality cheese collection of outside the box creations and ideas.....

Cheese is absolutely world class. Great service but everything is very pricey. The same cheese can be found in supermarkets for less, so what your really paying for is not the cheese itself but the experience. Response to Response: Haha I didn't mean you didn't make it there, I meant it'sa slightly more expensive there rather than at the local supermarket. In fact, we just bought a 110g packet of Highland Blue from New World or Countdown in Kaikoura for just $4.
