Customer sevice was tops. Shop is big and shelves are loaded with toys and things. First time my dog went inside a shop let alone in animates. She was very excited. At first but quickly turned into anxiousness. One of the assistants was able to carm my dog down with treats,. And she was very helpful and caring to both myself and molly wifi

A good shop for run-of-the-mill animal requirements with most of the merchandise for cats, dogs and fish. Half a dozen rabbits in low cages which was nice as my toddler could look without me having to pick her up. The only other animals they had there was a single tank of fish. The lady at the checkout wasn't very helpful. I asked her a question about a pretty basic product and she said "What does it say on the box?" So not very good customer service and product knowledge. I was left wondering where all of the animals that used to be at Animates have gone. No birds, dogs or cats anywhere.

Didn't have the vet prescribed Dog food in stock, but rang around to find it for a I needed it urgently. Discussed autoreorder option. Lovely, friendly staff.

The staff are always helpful and polite and they have a very extensive range of pet products.

Great products, have a loyalty discount program, and a vet instore, we just booked our new puppy for jabs, microchip, and buy all his food (and our cats) and stuff from them, a one stop shop. Beds kennels, treats.

Great pet shop! Excellent range of pets and pet products. Has Vet in store so can give you the correct advice when you need it. Also the staff are very passionate pet people who are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a grooming station where you can diy wash your dog!

The staff are always lovely in the shop. I worry about the vet part though as two very good vets left. The vet part - I dunno, seems a very stressful environment even though the staff are super lovely. I didn't return after the rabbit savvy vet left though. So, I have no complaints about the staff, but something seems stressed here.

Great dog wash, and very helpful staff providing a treat to entice my hesitant into it. Once in he was smiling with all that warm soapy water. Cheers.

Live taking the boys in there. They get super excited whenever we walk past Animates because they know if we go in there then they get pats and treats :) Our greyhound Freddie loves licking the fishtanks for some reason. Nice indoor dogwash that's really easy to use for large dogs.

Our go to to take our cat. Always a pleasant experience. Our car loves staying here to and we always have great feedback that he was good with other cats etc. There is a great selection of food and toys for animals aswell. It's always nice to hear that the staff loved having our cat aswell. If your looking for a vet or a cattery that will look after your cat this is the place. Can't fault animates at all. Thanks team for always being great with Rufus he really loves coming to visit. We won't go to any other vet. Thanks heaps from Glen Nikita Ella and Oliver.

Taking my Cat there to get her Fur Cut, On Wednesday. So that will be Cool. It is hot for her Just now. Yes Animates Did a very good Job on my Pango, until I have to do her again. I will take her Back to Animate again.

I love Animates! Especially the friendly and knowledgable staff. I always feel like a valued customer, and more than that, like my pets my interpretation of their needs matter. I recently had to return a product (a rare occurrence), and they gave me a refund without any hassle. Best returns experience I've ever had anywhere. Also love that they partner with the SPCA rather than stock puppies and kittens from who-knows-where. Thumbs up all round!

They have a lot of good products but it's disappointing to see pine bedding being sold as suitable for rabbits - it's actually toxic and can make them very ill. I informed the staff member who processed my purchase but she seemed supremely uninterested.

Bring my dog here weekly for the dog wash and we pick a treat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also understanding of my dogs special breed as well so attentive to her needs when we come in. The dog wash is so handy and affordable! Thanks from Belle the Maremma and us :)

We love the place, Dr Ali is amazing, very nice and helpful and she seems like she actually cares about our furry friends! Like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, they do not have a lot of animals (usually just rabbits), but I am very disappointed in people giving the store low ratings because of that - it's not a petting zoo! If you want to look at animals, go to a zoo or SPCA, don't expect a pet store to have animals for your entertainment....

Clean facilities with a range of services including grooming and cattery. More of a dedicated pet supplies store than a good place to purchase animals. A wide range of gear for dogs, cats, small animals and fish. You can use their online store to check what sort of range they have before going to the store, and the folk working the floor are helpful and friendly but not obtrusive.

Great customer service. You won't generally be standing around for ling before someone offers you help. My biggest irk is literally the parking. Getting to where they are is incredibly hard. And getting out can be even more tricky of you're there at peak hours

great place ... just my puppy could not enroll the puppy' school in Animates in time. A lady staff told us we could only enroll puppy till she finished second vaccination :( after she finished it and she turned 13 weeks old. She was told too old to join in. :) never mind, we still like this place.

A very nice store, with a good layout and a huge range of products. They even have a small range of fish, birds, cats and rabbits. The animals all look nice, healthy and well looked after. They even have a DIY dog wash and an in-store mini vet clinic. Overall a very very nice pet store, it is extremely tidy, clean and the animals look nice and healthy. I highly recommend going to animates.

Friendly and helpful. Only downside was requested a particular aquarium light of which I was told they had them in stock. As I live outside of town I drove the 20 minutes to collect it, to find they don't routinely stock it and would happily order it for me. I'm sure it was just a mix up but still very annoying

Animates Grooming Palmerston North is awesome. Sophie does an amazing job on our Westie. He comes out after a groom looking like a million dollars. Highly recommend taking your dog to Sophie. Keep up the good work. The rest of the team and vets are outstanding also. 10 out of 10!!👌👍
