C. D.This is a great little bookshop. My favourite kind of bookshop has tall shelves and narrow corridors, with stacks of books in the corners where the shelves won't fit them. The kind of place where if you venture deep enough in you might find yourself in that mystic dimension of books, where you can look up or sideways and still see people browsing the shelves - where every pokey little bookshop or underfunded but much-loved library eventually leads.
It's worth stopping here, and it's worth buying here.
R. M.Paul Edward's of Archway Books is an absolute legend. He came into possession of one of my fathers treasured Spitfire books, hand annotated, that had accidentally been disposed of when Dad moved into a rest home. Paul tracked me down and returned the book free of charge and included a lovely card. By all accounts Archway Books Pukerua Bay is a hidden gem with a great collection and knowledgeable staff. Well worth a visit.

So tiny yet so big, with a super friendly and knowledgable owner who leaves you at peace browsing, but is right there to answer all your questions (and knows the exact spot of all their titles). All the books are in really good condition and pricing is fair.
