Amazing selection of toys. Very helpful owner.

Good selection of models, toys, board games, CCG, and collectables. Stocks are limited due to shipping and manufacturing delays. However that aside there are more than a few good or great things in this store to occupy a great many folks. One of my must stops in Taupo.

Don't go anywhere else if you are looking for a gift for a youngster. I went there in search for a present for my 6 year old grandson and was shown a range of possibles. Toys, games, educational kits I never knew existed. The lovely lady serving gave me a tour and guidance. Saved time and frustration. Chose a robot with 40 applications. That should keep him busy for a while.

The new owner and his daughter were so helpful today, they went above and beyond to help me with a problem that occurred long before they purchased Taupo Hobbies. Thank you. Have a look in their shop it is absolutely packed with toys, models and hobbies.

Excellent shop with a wide range of model aircraft, boats, planes and RC models. Plenty of spare parts for the over-enthusiastic modeller and scratch builder. Also jigsaws, puzzles and educational 'toys'. Thoroughly recommend a browse!

It has a variety of toys and modeling supplies for projects. But my only complaint is how expensive some things are, 45$ for a few model trees and a small jar of fake water resin.

Amazing store, fantastic range of products. Friendly staff, great prices. They post nationwide. Definitely well worth visiting if your in Taupo. I live in Feilding and Taupo Hobbies has become my local even it's a couple of hours drive away

A great selection of quality merchandise for children. Broused and pondered for some time but with NO service. Assistant on his phone for almost the entire time and didnt move from the counter! If there was an opposition and my purchase hadn't been urgent I would have voted with my feet and left! Not even a greeting on arrival. So disappointing when the shop itself has so much to offer...

After cleaning my kitchen tap I found some of the chrome paint came away from a plastic screw on one of the mixer handles. No one could help me on Facebook forums and TradeMe postage prices were very expensive. So I went into Taupo Hobbies and was in and out quickly, with the right paint, at a great price. Lovely dog manning the main desk with the shop keeper made me smile.

A really good hobby/toy shop. More of a toy shop than I was expecting after first visiting their website but still, a diverse range of hobby stuff although some of the stock was a bit limited - like the model railway, and slot car aisles. Seemed a little pricey as well.

Great shop with a good range of games and models all well laid out, friendly staff, fairly basic on the model railway side better on plastic kits, paints, parts etc. Recommended if you're in the vicinity and there's no skiing to be had that day!

Taupo hobbies is a wonderful store to visit if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. Their selection includes Board games (eg. Catan), Collectable figurines, Children's toys, Rubiks gear, HO and OO train gear, Airfix models, Remote controlled planes and cars etc... It was a wonder to walk around the store taking in the weird and wonderful items not normally found easily in NZ. Everything was well laid out, and the staff were friendly and happy to help. The only fault I could have is in the pricing department. You are going to pay a premium for gear that is hard to find. In saying this, I walked out with a bag full of fantastic gear, and felt it was worth every cent. I'd recommend anyone shopping in Taupo to give this store a look!

Best little hobby shop in New Zealand from my experience. Competitive prices & the owner Steve is always willing to go just that little bit further to please his customers. 4 stars Would be 5 if online browsing of stock was available.

Wow what a helpful gentleman. Nothing was any trouble. So knowledgeable. Best hobby shop by far. Came across it on our way home to Hawkes Bay and so pleased we did.

Steve has a great range of hobbies in store and always has a warm welcome to his customers, highly recommended.

Not many high street hobby shops around now so for this reason alone it's a treat to pop in, browse and find a few bits for one's hobby. Nice selection of RC plane, boat and car kits.

Travelling through Taupo we decided to find somewhere to buy a model kitset. The shop was easy to find and had a large section of model kitsets. The man in the shop was helpful and we would return again.
