D.Had a fabulous experience at Brides on Thorndon. I tried on wedding dresses with my then 23 year old son, and we had such a great experience, something I will never forget doing with my son. I came out in the dress I ended up buying, which was totally different to what I had pictured. I felt so comfortable and right on our wedding day! Very happy with the whole experience!

j.I bought my wedding dress from Jill and her team in May 2019. After looking in several other more boutique stores first, I wish I had just come here from the beginning. The design and price range were both large so I think it will cater for many people. The store itself is also quite big so easy to try multiple things on quickly if you are like me and got sick of the whole process. The price and quality was excellent but most of all the generous helpful staff. Thanks Jill, I highly recommend Brides on Thorndon (now on Cambridge Tce)
M.Superb. The owner took care of us personally. She didn't bat an eye at fitting a lady with a bridesmaid suit - and it is a wonderful suit, which makes someone feel like a million dollars. A great eye for colour and suggestions, made sure to treat the bride (not me) as the most important person in the room at all times. Made sure she was relaxed also about unrelated wedding things.
My overwhelming impression is of taste and professionalism, this is an excellent choice for your wedding suit hire or sale.
A.Jill and the team at Brides on Thorndon has done an absolutely amazing job for my wedding party. Jill has an eye like a hawk for fitting suits so much so that she can look at a Facebook photo and get it right. She will do everything in her power to have both bride and groom looking fabulous and has a near photographic memory. She is a gem and a delight.
The shop has the largest selection dresses including Pronovias which you cannot get at any other bridal store in Wellington (trust me I’ve tried). It also has morning coats which are also hard to procure but look so so so smart and a number of suit choices.
L.Absolutely 5 stars - I cannot rate Brides on Thorndon and their staff highly enough. This was the first, and only, bridal store I visited and I found the perfect dress. Whilst I had a smaller budget, and I’m a size 16, there were a number of dresses available for me to try on. Even though I wasn’t sure what I wanted - although I knew what I didn’t want - the staff were so helpful in finding me suitable dresses to try on. They put the dress I finally chose on hold and were happy for me to take photos so I could get a second opinion from my sister and best friend who are both based in the UK and I was able to purchase it the following day. There was no ‘hard sell’ and I really enjoyed the experience and the advice and help I received. I don’t wear dresses or skirts and rarely shop but I found the whole experience extremely relaxing and I was put at ease by their staff throughout the consultation. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience :)
