Reviews of Britomart
A.
Britomart is really fun to have a look at and looks so pretty with all the fairy-lights. It's a really modern high end shopping area built on top of the railway station in the CBD. It also has a Countdown near by and sitting areas if you are looking to have some lunch outside in the city.
J.
Very amazing Hotel. I'd have to say the best in Auckland! Very Friendly Hotel Staff! The rooms are spotless with a lot of goodness Hidden away in them. And the acoustics in the shower are definitely 5 Star worthy. I'd highly recommend this place if you can afford it!
A.
Great selection of shops and eateries. Came here to have breakfast at Kingi. Great bonus about going to Britomart for food is they will validate your parking if you spend over $50 on food. You’ll need to park at Britomart carpark and check which restaurants are part of the Britomart group.
K.
Lots of high end Shopping, lots of outdoor seating, a few eateries one of them being my favorite Miann. A water feature, views to Brittomart train station above the ground make it quite unique, weekend markets
N.
Some great shops, cafes and restaurants. Love Amano, World, Trelise Cooper, Oji Sushi, Cafe Hanoi and Playpark by Karen Walker. I would give it a higher rating if it wasn’t for the lack of public bathrooms and fountain. Pathetic looking fountain by global standards - they should just get rid of it. Put in some nice seating and tables instead. The fountain is not a playground and is dangerous for kids as they can slip over. The Britomart Mall is the only mall I’ve been to globally that does not have public toilets. Why aren’t there any toilets for customers shopping in the area? I can go to Commercial Bay instead which is nearby to shop and eat (with a much larger selection) and they have bathrooms for the public.
D.
Everything diverts back to Britomart, the final stop for both Eastern and Southern line train services. They have newly furnished the interior of Britomart abive ground hub and are still continuing to improve it which is great especially because the new hub looks cleaner and doesn't have that industrialised concrete and steel walls/ceiling.
E.
An extravagant walk-zone at Britomart. Location wise at north of Customs St and Queen St. Feels solemn within the Square while in the midst of mindful meditation.
C.
Great customer service! The workers are absolute sweethearts and have a welcoming presence😝 Will definitely be coming back!
O.
Beautiful and really modern
F.
love britomart just a nice place for a walk always something happening specially on weekends they do free coffee Thursdays went there for matariki too some amazing brands and great food selection
B.
I'm back to public transport now, but itsbeen really enjoyable so far, My bus links up to the Panmure station, and then I'm a 5 min walk from Britomart to my job. Clean and safe station.
A.
Very cute and asthetic part of town good if you like high end shops and restaurants but also good for just roaming the area
B.
Nice place to hang out in the sunshine on the bean bags, also great photos at night with the fairy lights
M.
This is just such a nice with all the plants and art, and some very good dining choices too.
K.
Could do with the rubbish being picked up, footpaths swept and gardens attended to, otherwise quite enjoyed being there.
L.
Great space on a market day. Lots of lovely eateries and expensive shops.
C.
Once you get familiar with the entrance and layout it's ok, great location.
H.
The heart of CBD which I find it very relaxing and romantic for a visit
D.
Great people-oriented public space with an excellent and eclectic range of food, drink and fashion-oriented retail.
M.
Beautifully finished. Upon coming up from the escalators you are greeted by this wide space with high ceilings and pillars. Lovely shops to grab a bite, coffee or even buy a bouquet of flowers 😃My favourite is Goodness Café serving gluten free healthy snacks etc.
J.
Great shopping eatery area of downtown Auckland. Love the planting and lighting specialty shopping and easy access walking areas. Saturday market also worth a visit. Parking building right next door but expensive at $6 per half hour. Although if you spend $50 you can get a couple of hours free. Would be worth getting your timing right.
D.
Makes you feel like you are in a city coming of age and that has some respect for itself.
L.
Beautifully clean.
Shops have no personality, not a fun place to shop.
V.
A place with many foods around. Is like their city centre. Love this place very much.
B.
The area is located just outside the Britomart station where the buses and trains set off. There is plenty of food places in the area such as XuXu dumpling bar the the dessert haven Milse. There is also a market on Saturday mornings with more food and other products on offer.
Nice place to just grab something from one of the places like Amano Bakery and eat it on one of the seats (or even grassy area) in the square.
H.
Upmarket, interesting, even fun. Nice food, quality clothes. Clean and classy.
J.
Lovely place. 😍
J.
It's a train station and has the facilities you would expect. Ticket sales, people to assist you signage for timetables, toilets, and trains. There is a lot of work going on to extend the station and tracks as at December 2020 this is nearing completion but will still take a while longer to complete. The service has improved a lot over time and while not quite having the throughout of the London tubes it's pretty good for a smallish country. The trains run till late evening and a pretty regular.
M.
I like to go these place, in the late afternoon to sit down in puffs and see the children playing in the fountain. This square's beautiful and you have many stores, restaurants, and cafés inside the ATRIUM.
R.
Busy with construction and some trains not fully running but where they cannot run due to maintenance buses are provided. Great facility and will be worth 5 stars when they finish all the construction, railroad lines repaired and up to standard, with time tables able to be adhered to. The grandkids loved every moment of their ride from Silvia Park and back again and always a treat.
S.
Britomart always a cool place to shop and Train Station Hub...
D.
Very nice place to go too.
S.
Not very interesting. No parking. Limited stores
A.
Love the overall look of the place, good food and great environment. The train station looks beautiful and super professional
j.
I booked the Britomart for the night of my partners birthday. I chose it because I had heard great reviews of it around town. We were arriving by train so being only 3 minutes from the station it was the perfect location. We Ubered to the van Gogh exhibition although its only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is beautiful. You could be in Italy but you are clearly in NZ. The tasteful and quality furnishings are all natural NZ. The colors are beautiful and modern. The Laneway room we had is neatly compact and all you need to sleep or relax in. The bed is so comfy I slept like a baby. We had a small view of the working wharf and the glistening waters of the Waitamata harbour.
We ate a snack of yummy green lipped mussels in their Kingi restaurant in the afternoon and at Cafe Hanoi for dinner. Delicious and just next door. Its not a cheap stay but the thrill of that stay is still lingering. Thoroughly recommend.
K.
Beautiful surroundings, great place to chill out
R.
Can't wait for all the work and renovations outside britomart train station to finish.
B.
Commercial bay is a great shopping centre
R.
Lots of shops, eateries and even a green space...you see office workers sitting on bean chairs (supplied by the city) on the grass having lunch .....
M.
Britomart is a place where past and future collide, where renovated dockside warehouses jostle up to sleek new architecture, where gritty brick laneways full of lively bars give way to plant-filled streets and a sunny square lined with world-leading restaurants and chic boutiques. Britomart – home to the headquarters of Westpac, EY, innovative co-working space Generator and a host of other market-leading businesses, and located right above the city’s busiest public transport hub – is the crossroads where Auckland sees the best of itself: clever, creative, rich in history and full of promise!!!
M.
Great eateries! Up market shopping!
T.
I always like walking out from the britomart station to the main square, it's lively, bustling, and colourful. Right by the shore front, it has a plethora of clothing shops and stores for you to check out before heading into the main city. Why not stop at Commercial Bay while you're there for a bite to eat? Gem of a spot.
P.
A very romantic set up to spend the perfect day .
R.
Well maintained n beautiful 🤗🥰
A.
One of my favorite places to to hang out in Auckland. Fresh...
D.
Gets you to where you need to go. Staff super friendly and helpful. Bit of a long wait at service desk but that is because they are helpful and don't rush the customer.
M.
lovely place to walk through on a warm day but it is very cold when the wind is blowing. Very nicely set out and some good shops also.
P.
Very nice place lot better than it was before
R.
Good place for shopping and having fun. A lot of food options to choose.
D.
Right in front of the Harbour. Good connectivity.
V.
Cool place, outdoor areas to chill, shops and restaurants are top notch. The farmers market in the weekend is fantastic
s.
Very well designed train station located in the heart of the city. The underground station has lift for pram and wheelchair access. Staff are super friendly and caring for little people, very knowledgeable of the train schedule and ticketing etc. Easy stroll to town and suburb connection.
D.
It has become a great place from say 2 years ago. Aw it's 2018 now 😉
S.
Beautiful open area, walkway with fairy lights, garden beds, with shops, and restaurants and cafes.
C.
Great place for having a fun day at shopping specially on a clear day. lot of options with great food around.
A.
Not really a place to shop but a place to hang out and enjoy food. A large variety of restaurants and cuisines to enjoy while watching the sun set in the distance behind the pier. Prices are really fluid because of what store you decide to take but it is not to be lightly thought because expect high prices due to location. A good place to hang out and the NEX and Britomart Train Stations is just across the road so very accessible too.

Staff are super friendly and caring for little people, very knowledgeable of the train schedule and ticketing etc. Easy stroll to town and suburb connection. It is a great place to hang out in Auckland. The location houses some high end brands of clothings and jewellery like Tiffany's. Some great pubs and fine dining also located in the area. Saturday morning one can enjoy Farmer's market between 8am-12pm. The Farmer's Market brings you fresh vegetables and fruits, and some homemade savouries. One also witnesses commercial liners docked on some weekends at the Ferry Station. One can come here for some great food and pubs.also you can get underground rail bus to go around in the city very soon
K.
Great place to meet and hang out with friends, try the mussel fritters and a good selection of shops with a great vibe

Nice mall, lots of decent stores, places to snack and to sit out and enjoy the sun.
D.
This place has seen a lot of changes in the last 5 years. More high end fashion, more expensive bars and more expensive eateries. Gentrification has happened here in a big way. And the Saturday morning market has tripled in size. The Store, is a good place to grab brunch and the coffee is excellent. Don't expect to get a table easily.
R.
Interesting menu, - thanks for vegetables for breakfast! Great coffee, lovely environment
J.
Very very nice, I remember the arrea as the theology Bus Station, nothing like that now
a.
The britomart station is still under renovations.Signage is readable and easy to follow and understand. Staff in the booth are very friendly and helpful with directions. They also can top up your AT cards. Just a note for people who have lost or stolen cards and transfer funds onto a new card its expected to take 14-28 days for it to transfer. I was dissapointed in how long it takes and hope they find a faster and better system to this. Overall haven't really had bad experiences with this service. There maybe times where the trains are delayed but to keep in the know check out the AT transport website for live updates and times of transport. So you can divert and find a faster route to your destanation or use the buses around the station :)
A.
Busy & vibrant place
A.
Nice looking place, horrible traffic and construction here.. The construction has been through multiple years and still not finished
D.
A little quiet at night but nice options to eat
R.
Love my Merino shoes, first but definitely not the last!
T.
Popular place, always filled with people. Love how they have food trucks on Fridays
C.
Love the newly renovated Britomart, much easier to get around and navigate which is a relief as renovations seemed to go on forever
T.
Great place, a lot great cafes, restaurants and shops. Used to be Aucklands main transport hub. Currently under construction, so you can't enter the old train station. But you still can catch all the trains and busses you need in all directions. In summer there often live music or performances. Many times the city provide beanbags, so you can relaxe and enjoy the sun. Never boring here.
m.
This is a great area, right on the waterfront in town, it has some nice Open Spaces and in the summertime beanbags in the Grass to use, there is quite a few great restaurants around this area to choose from and the whole area sits on top of the train station.
D.
Well worth a visit this is truly a beautiful area. Great selection of cafes and bars in an outdoor mall/courtyard setting. Come here in the evening. The whole place is strung up with fairly lights and feels magical.
G.
On Saturday there is a small market.
All these stalls need your support. Yummy food, honey, flowers, a place to sit and enjoy .
B.
The little market is wonderful nice music lovely food and a great atmosphere
T.
Variety of shops and restaurants with attractions for all age groups and families. Indoor and outdoor options. Weekend markets; outdoor fitness classes; plenty of seating. Free wifi. Easy access from expressway (on-site car-park) and train station. Recommend Better Burger; Milse
G.
Love hanging out, eating, drinking, AND loving right here near Britomart. The bean bags left out in the grass for public use during the summer days are especially nice. Markets going on every Saturday morning. Overall beautiful area. What I didn't even realize until I took the train was that those round pyramid-like structures are actually skylights! Haha so from underneath on the train platform you can look far up and see a bunch of bottoms of ppl sitting on them 😆
S.
First time visit after All Black g a me. Good food and drinks. Attentive staff. Great location. Hope to visit again again.
N.
This place has really transformed over the years. If only the road works are finished, this place will be awesome.
R.
Great place to shop but no parking so catch the train or get a bus
T.
It's part of the widening open plan spaces for auckland that also showcase alot of aucklands surrounding shopping business's..that's available new and old.
k.
Great place to visit for lunch or shopping as parking is free for first 2 hours if you buy something from one of the shops in Britomart
R.
Britomart is a great area to visit. Britomart train station is clean and tidy service is great in britomart.
M.
Exceptionally Brilliant in terms of services offered by one of the oldest train stations in Newzealand. I have travelled a few times with them & I was amazed by the kind of service which they have. Being new I was sceptical of using them but the customer service part is wonderful & I was guided through with the required support needed to make my trip successful. Kudos BRITOMART !! Love ya 🤗🤗🤗
R.
Absolutely beautiful area. Secret little urban spots - so chic, and so many cool things to see at night with the fairy lights, quite romantic if you're just going for a stroll
B.
Arcade of small eateries and high-end retail outlets. The building is airy and modern, with the advantage of being set back from the main thoroughfares of downtown. The grassy area on the Wakatu Square side is popular for the lunchtime crowd on sunny days.
V.
💃 beautiful, do your 🛍 shopping for men's and women's clothing,👗👖 lunch a variety of restaurants there, yoga, if you need a quiet time⏳, and bean bags🎒 to relax and have lunch on the sunny ☀️ green grass 🌞 with 👭 friends.
Enjoy💓😊💓
Y.
If britomart gets anything else than 5 stars, i don't know what'll get higher
M.
Together with the viaduct, britomart is one of the best spots in Auckland CBD
R.
Not cheap but nice ,but the portions size is to small for the price, but dress it up to be eat able.
F.
Always amazing, fresh, tasty food and great service and ambience. We had set menu was very good
S.
Some very good co working and shared spaces in this area. Grab a coffee downstairs in the many outlets around. Check out the bean bags outside too.
M.
New mall is worth a visit. New stores alongside the more established regulars. Good food joints.
M.
Excellent coffee shops and eaterys in the one spot, found at the bottom of town close to the transport hub of the city..Nice Clean outdoor mall type spot, heaps of uptown chic stores, bars.Check it out at night with all the pretty lighting and stuff.Great place to catch up with friends.
S.

D.
Great experience and a far cry from the old bus terminal that once hailed this precinct. Definitely worth exploring - great food and easy access to transport.
A.
Handy parking to the stores.
A.
We visied Auckland by cruise ship and was pleasently surprised that there was a great shopping centre so close by. We quickly and easily found everything we wanted. I later spoke to some ship crew members, they said they always go shopping at the Britomart to find their asian foods & snacks they love.
P.
Highly recommended, made with people in mind.
L.
Easy comfortable transport Base. The trains are almost always on time (by my experience) and everything is very clearly marked so there is no confusion as to where you need to go.
J.
this is a great place to hang out especially when you just won't to get away from it all
G.
Like the open space and trendy shops.
D.
Regular train services throughout the Auckland region, and very reasonably priced! Smooth comfortable ride.
D.
Not as clean as it use to be road works don't help good luck parking
N.

n.
Lovely hanging in the sunshine in Tukutai Square with food trucks on Friday.
S.
Great train station. Part of the team thats busy upgrading the electrical systems
A.
Wish we had more train stations in Auckland and they were accessible.
C.
Bring someone elses credit card.. high end stuff and mainly of little interest to those with Y in their genome. Other than the food which while also pricey is good...
A.
One of my favorite places to spend a Saturday. Have a great breakfast, then checkout the cool shops, walk to the harbor and go back to britomart for lunch.
D.
Good food and service, noisy when full of customers
A.
Excellent upmarket shopping in the downtown area. Plenty of bars, cafes and shopping. Would recommend especially to tourists and visitors to Auckland.
C.
Pretty good place, people hangout here, children's playing, kids skateboarding, and adults relaxing specially the evening time looks fantastic and enjoying the building of city with little water Fountain ⛲ on side
H.
Britomart had a nice atmosphere with plenty of eating and doing options. It's the new High Street of Auckland with many to end brands moving into the area
N.
Very good place with upgraded mall and new shops, recommend
m.
Use to love this place, but with all the construction going on around the area, it's better to just go somewhere else
M.
Great compact reserve in the CBD, next to Jucy company's backpackers. Short walk down Emily rd to beach road and Quay st or up and down to Queen street.
R.
Still the best place for me in town. Amano and Jo Malone. A good day is made with just that.
C.
Fabulous atmosphere, loved the bean bags and music, very sheltered from the wind - great way to enjoy the sunshine relaxing with some friends over a cuppa and a bite to eat!
O.
Nice place to hang out. Usually not as rowdy, with nice restaurants and bars within the walking distance. Overall, very good general vibe.
G.
Trains are a great way to get in and out of the CBD.

Beautiful location. Amazing architecture. It's just a damn shame about the dense crowds of corporate clowns.
