Reviews of Mangere Town Centre
Theres a great variety of goods, fair and low prices. Great atmosphere. They also have events and trade fairs for the community to be involved as well as bringing them together. Hopefully soon the zumba classes will resume or have something that will comply with covids restrictions to replace it for the community to enjoy 🤞
This place has a lot of history for me. I grew up in mangere back in the late 60's early 70's & I was here when the shopping center opened. In fact my bike was stolen from here. But I remember the little train 🚂 rides & my new chopper 🚲 bike I got for Xmas. I will always love this place.
Mangere Town Centre is where the partys at!. Everyday is different ! One day you'll see a mass exercise event, the next day you'll see 2 people fighting over a car park spot while someone is peeing in a McDonald's cup. Cheap food , highly recommend the chicken spot in the middle of the town centre.
If you need to buy Pacific type clothes or on a tight budget to buy clothes in general, this is the place to go to if waiting for the markets to open during the weekends. They have great seafood options as well and a few $2 stores avail. Countdown is attached to the centre so you dont have to drive far. The only problem I have is this town centre is old and needs upgrading. For over 30+ years there have been no efforts to upgrade the town centre itself while new buildings and facilities are built around it. Some surprising food stores avail as well.
Heaps of culture. The atmosphere is weird when there isn’t a concert/dance happening. Shops include seafood shops, butchers, jewellers, pasifika clothing stores, American clothing stores, eateries, shoe stores and heaps more. There is plenty of parking.
Grew up in mangere so was good to go back after all these years it's way more colourful and the food smells as you walk thru..... Get fat there on paydays fams. The island food shop is to die for str8 up fams that place is still a winner
Went sushi shop, family run. Best food around compares to the food I used to get in Japan great taste great service.
A Saturday marketing place to go to. Where they have an open market out in the car parks and jammed pack. Each stall with beautiful displays from Island food, clothing, jewellery, knickknacks, children toys and many more. Oh and should you want to listen to Island music head into the mall where you will find few times elderly bless their souls on the dance floor waltzing away to the beautiful music played. And best of all you get to meet or see friends, whanau or people back from your homeland and want a bargain or a discount from the vendors just ask😊. With few rounds in search of a park you will find one space with a lot of patience and a smile it won’t kill.
