Reviews of Cathedral Junction

Lovely place. Went for the tram ride only. Direction once we got the ticket would have been great other than 'wait ten minutes'...15 minutes another tram comes along and we are standing wondering what to do. The trip itself was great and the drivers description of places was wonderful. Good patiences and understanding of the history. Would do it again anytime. Good for all ages and for disable people too. Though not wheelchair.

The tram was the best way to see around christchurch. The commentary by Tom was very good.

Nice place to visit. Good restaurants. Tram Service.
C.
Quite nice place. This is Straight away to Cathedral Christchurch
There is an retro game shop inside this place
Public toilet also available here
This is also where the tram stopped to load and unload passengers

Superb location. Friendly hosts. Lovely apartment. We stayed here for 10 days in the Christmas break. Cathedral Junction is right in the city centre. Above the tram station, next to New Regent Street and a easy stroll to most city centre attractions like Museum, Botanical Gardens, Hagley Park, Bridge of Remembrance. Appreciate the availability of a washing machine which was useful for a 10 day stay. But really liked the place and would definitely consider for another stay in the future.

Visited to get the tram ticket. A very small shopping mall, only remember there's 3 restaurants, 1 barbershop, 1 convenient store, 1 gift shop and tram ticket shop. It is the first stop for tramway.

Had a fabulous time celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. Gabby and Flynn were wonderful, great food and service. Would definitely recommend.

Great to meet the night team pick up area for dinners on night loops of the city having dinner.

Had so much fun riding the trams! Rode for a couple of hours, getting on and off, laughing at the conductors jokes, seeing so many wonderful things without having to worry about driving or parking! Fantastic experience!! The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Overall excellent experience and highly recommend!

Quiet place with some restaurants. Gift shop available and an info center for activity booking.
B.
Unique shopping area and the start of the city tram. Cafes and travel store, bike hire are also available.
R.
Cathedral junction has a nice atmosphere even though at the time we went all shops were closed. Even if you are not taking the tram it is worth waiting ten to fifteen minutes for the next one to take pictures.

Brilliant architectural interlude in the city.
A.
Really cool public place with some interesting restaurants to have a look at. Seems to be popular for eating before nearby theatre shows. Interesting interaction between the tram line that runs through the building.
V.
Beautiful small tram junction with few shops, restaurants, barber shop etc. the trams are too old and noisy. The govt should change the machinery and engine while retaining antique elegant look. Staff of tram services are very friendly.

Still pretty quiet, noted slowly growing again. There are a few restaurants in this centre. Sakimoto is a good place for authentic Japanese cuisine. Tram goes pass every 30min or so great place to take photos.
R.
Sheltered place in bad weather. The Cosmopolitan and comic store worth to visit.
B.
Loved the Junction, could easily have spent more time looking at the stores before hoping on the amazing tram tour. Baz (tram driver) was an absolute buzz, had a wicked time and hope to do it again next time im back

It's so sad that this facility is so underutilized at the moment mainly due to the dearth of tourists due to Covid. Occupation is only 50% at best.

Love visiting the gift store for friendly service, some lovely scarves and the Alpine Silk skin care products.

Amidst the ongoing wreckage and renewal of downtown Christchurch (or I guess you'd say City Centre) the ruined and all-but-condemned Anglican cathedral stands amongst several other boarded up buildings. But in between the seemingly nonstop construction there is some beautiful public art installations. This is how a city who has lost much of its identity works to regain itself and rediscover itself. If you do travel there, you will almost certainly see something new that wasn't there six months or a year ago. It's a city sloughing off its old skin and showing a new and glowing facade.

You need to visit this area for the quirky little stores - the tram, and even hire an electric scooter, even a wee gaming store... A nice stroll to see what's there

Tram is king. With a view to the old and new buildings. Mobile cafes offer great food and coffees 😉
I.
Good selection of shops and food outlets. Convenient place to catch a tram too.
