a.Absolutely gorgoues place to shop. So much heritage and so nice to see a different kind of mall. There obviously isn't huge options as it is rather small and is all very boutique shops which makes for an interesting shop. 😁
J.Had a lovely quick lunch. Out in no time, nice food, great size lunch, only had 1 cool drink but didnt get asked if we needed another. 35 degree day and we needed to queue at the bar for service. Still it was a pleasant enough day.
P.A must first time visit for us. The greenery had obscured the signage at the roadside so it took a bit of finding. Lovely rustic atmosphere in the covered courtyard where we enjoyed a half&half pizza, fries & a couple of dark beers. Will go back next time we visit Christchurch.
D.Great place with lots of little gems spread out . Cafe was great next to the cinema. Retro gifts had lots if kiwiana and vinyl records priced from 4 to 30 dollars good variety. Recycle clothing shops and more .

d.Exclusive shopping area for not on the highstreet items. Coffee and chocolate shops to satisfy the hunger on your way round. Craft beer and bar for special occasions in this clutch of shops so all your needs covered. Well worth a visit
S.This has beautique stores and cafe's through plus a movie theatre, so if you are looking for that special food or gift you may find it here but expect to pay for it as most store's are expensive. Food is good and reasonable.

R.It's a lovely building and there are a lot of beautiful shops but it was really warm inside and that was on a reasonably mild day so I would hate to have gone there on a scorcher.
M.Great collection of interesting shopping. New Zealand locally made and quirky. Recommend the beautiful knitting and weaving shop, supporting local groups.

G.This is a boutique small mall, you can find some fancy clothes, stuffs and foods here. And yes, it would be mote expensive as well. But you may encounter some small stuffs for gifts. It is worthy to mention as well that it may be slightly difficult to get in and out of the place as it has a smalll entrance beside the road and limited parking space. Nonetheless, it a great place to visit, totally loved the sushi there.

J.really nice boutique shopping centre! alot of cool shops where you can find nice vintage, unqiue things, nice places to eat and just alot of things to see in general! pretty hard to get there by public transport, but definitely worth a trip there even if you don’t end up buying anything, because theres just loads to look at!! definitely recommend stopping by here

A.We went to the Tannery just a few days before Christmas in 2018. The mall has a really old timie feel, similar to the arcades. There was cute bookshops, craft and gift shops, cinema, cafe and clothes shop. My mum brought a lovely Turkish plate for as a gift from a Turkish shop and a pair of snazzy sunglasses from the fancy clothing shop which were not too expensive, but had a real Hollywood vibe. We enjoyed our time at the Tannery it was like being back in time and it was a refreshing change from the modern malls.

P.It's a boutique shopping emporium on the banks of the Heathcote River in Woolston, Christchurch, New Zealand. The old industrial precinct from the 19th century is now home to a retail complex boasting stunning architecture and art, and home to a concentration of boutique shops; a hub of creativity and hospitality, retail, craft and entertainment.
D.Very wary of entering the mall knowing unvaccinated people are invited in. I am a pensioner and vaccinated for my own safety, but aware myself or my husband could still catch covid.
P.Cassels milk stout, very nice, especially accompanied by Tannery nibbles. A solid "good times" experience.

E.Such a great shopping experience hidden away from the main thoroughfare. Love the architecture, don't be fooled by the industrial exterior, the inside of the main building is quite beautiful and unexpected. It has a great boutique vibe, the cinema is fabulous, it has that old fashion charm. If you have been you know what I mean and if you haven't you should go take a look for yourself.

s.The best ciabatta in Christchurch and the best pain au raisin. Friends also highly recommend the pain au chocolat. I have tried five of their speciality breads and both the taste and quality shine through. Yum.

D.What a fabulous shopping centre, was a lovely stroll inside the foyer and a great range of upmarket boutique shops. It's like you're in another world among all the boutique's and then you back onto the street of an older residential area.

w.Nice place, high end quality products, next to the stinkiest part of the Heathcote River, in one of the smelliest industrial areas in Christchurch city. It's true, there is a fish processing factory not far away. Some days, oh wow!! Other than that, really nice. 😈😁
G.My favorite place to hang out now and then. Lovely and relaxing walking around. The mall isn't so loud, like other malls that you go too. Beautiful shops and the Penny Black Victorian Cafe is beautiful to have High Tea, coffee or a bite too eat. Fantastic place to visit.

M.I'm here usually at least once a week. Yoga, coffee, cinema, shopping, recycling clothing, craft beer, food.... something to fit all sorts of moods. Amongst lots of rebuilding in ChCh, The Tannery has been a good refuge to seek beauty in a building.

f.It's a unusual place which has basically unique stores. 'Hapa' is amazing ~ most of the items are made in - NZ that alone would say superior quality and worthy of your attention and support. You can access great vitamins and herbs at the 'Apothecary' , calm, quiet 'Beauty Therapy' sanctuary, a worthy book 📖❤store - I manage to get lost in here for at least an hour each time ⏲️and NEVER come out empty handed ✋, gifts 🎁in other boutique stores, 'Penny Black' café worthy of their scrumptious food and polite, efficient service 😀 Never leave without crossing the carpark to the shops on the sidewalk within the carpark area. A must see for superb quality handmade at wonderful prices is the ' Weaving' and 'Felt' shore ~ old fashioned manners with service in here. Two doors 🚪down is a proper bakery ~ weight watchers no where in sight, live dangerously, go ahead and eat the grand pastries and cakes 😋 loads of special feature stores all worthy of your attention.
A.Has an atmosphere all of it's own. Love coming here. Don't come often, it's out of my price range. Enjoyed a coffee while my son had his hair cut.
Toilets were hygienic and fresh, at the end of the day.

s.Retro mall with movie theatre, also offers a number of small shops with local goods and clothing, prices on the higher end, restaurants and bar. Good place for a stroll and window shopping.

I also love the sushi (nori table) and my number one stop for health remedies and ailment (apothecary). The historic refurbished building is a beautiful bonus. 🥰 infinite stars!

W.A regular spot to shop for gifts or clothing, to browse the excellent consignment stores, enjoy some great sushi or see a movie. Love the whole ambience of this amazing space, and that there are plenty of parking spots surrounding.

J.It's a good shopping mall. The shops aren't two far away and it doesn't take long to walk from one side to another. However the prices are high and it's not worth it if you're on a budget for shopping for gifts or clothes and food as well.

K.A beautiful, boutique shopping arcade. The building has been lovingly restored and has a great cinema as well. It's a great place to go if you are looking for a special outfit or gift. The Brewery does delicious food and has an extensive beer and wine list. Great place to take kids as well.

B.A shopping centre on the outskirts of Christchurch with a difference. The single-level brick buildings are new, but with an old-style artisanal feel that fits in perfectly with the boutique stores it features. Four-hour free parking.
K.It is a unique shopping precinct in CHC, along the style of Queens Arcade in Sydney. More of a special experience and regular treats emporium than a family shop. Well worth a visit and great repurposing of property.

E.Fantastic shopping complex with amazing architecture. The She Chocolate shop is a must stop and other interesting shops always have different stuff to the norm. The Surf shop is a great stop too. If you want a small movie theatre experience without the crowd and great customer service this is a great place too. Recommend this place.
A.High quality stuff. Nick nacks, great second hand high end bookstore. If you like shopping for expensive chocolates and tchotckes you'll love it. Nice little cafes, and a really good independent cinema.

C.Very busy, we arrived with a group of 20. Staff were under the pump, with two kegs needing replacing during our order. They offered to bring the drinks that they couldnt pour immediately out to our table, and did so promptly. Large open areas indoors and outdoors, with a great pizza menu. Wish we had been there on a Tuesday for the 2 for 1 pizza deal!
M.So many interesting shops with good stock displayed well. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Good eating places. Try the dumpling place next to Betty Black's.

I was prepared to spend up on jewellery in a homeware gift store but shop assistant judgemental & inattentive, so I walked out with the few hundred $ I'd planned on spending on jewellery. Whole building lacks love & care. One person outstanding - the Turkish expat. with his beautiful range of crystals & jewellery.

C.Great service. I had to be somewhere and even though they were busy they cooked a pizza and chips for the kids in 8 minutes. Really appreciated this and of course the pizza was great. Very thin base and delicious simple toppings done on a wood oven. Had a black IPA and this was magnificent. Great outdoor covered seating that was dry and warm and not so noisy.
C.The Tannery is one of Christchurch's post-earthquake suburban hot spots, where folks now gather instead of the still-dead - overcapitalised- central city. The renovated historic, industrial buildings ( expanses of old stunning red brick workshops with sawtooth rooflines) now house local boutiqes & homewares stores, hair salons, independent bookstores, beer garden, craft bewery & craft bakery, movie theatre, antique store..next to the river in the lee of the Port Hills. And I love that it brings new life to one of my favourite, old, historically working class parts of town. No longer the wrong side of the tracks. Funny how that happens 😉

L.Excellent except for the Japanese restaurant. The food etc is great there but I was embarrassed when I got to the counter and tried to pay with cash and the shop person practically hissed at me that they would not take cash. I understand because there has been Covid but there was absolutely no signage stating this policy so I was left fumbling for money with a big queue building up.

R.This is a really lovely Mall. A refreshing step away from the standard malls. Different shop brands, still very good quality ranges, good cafes however the restoration of this older group of buildings is exceptional. Great place to spend a couple of hours browsing.

B.The tannery could be perfect. The building is beautiful and well set out. There's a wide variety of shops with great products. The restaurants and movie theatre are superb. It could do with a really good cafe that does a delicious simple coffee and also (for the parents) a better change table facility. I love the building and have been to a couple of wonderful functions in the main shopping area. It's definintely worth a visit!

L.This place is amazing! Well I must admit it's a couple of years since I've seen it but it was stunning when I was there. Mostly high end shops, uniquely designed and set up beautifully. The cafe options were wonderful offering something a bit different from the norm. The actual design with all exposed iron work was fabulous. Definitely worth a visit.

It's definitely a place to visit if you have a good amount of pennies in your pocket as it has lots of boutique shops. Lots of variety however and so it is the perfect place to go shopping for a special gift for somebody or for yourself.

T.One of my favourite spots to go in the city. The shops are interesting and unique, no big conglomerate chains, but the building itself is just gorgeous. Good pub food and a really cute upscale movie theatre too.

Appreciated been able to make a booking, staff friendly, food great.

O.'Shopping mall' is a technically accurate but ultimately inadequate way of describing The Tannery. Home to a lovely bookshop and the best barbers I've ever been to yet, it's not quite like the others. Rustic, quiet, largely out of the way. The door placement makes no sense. Almost feels like it should have an upstairs. Lovely little place.
M.Impressive cosy stores which have different displays of quality clothing. Also found my favorite chocolate place here.

M.Nice layout with finew weather, otherwise you're restricted to covered mall space which excludes 50% of shops. Restaurants, pub and movie theatre accompany varietal shops. Worth a look. C.Beautiful building to have a wonder around. Shopping is quite expensive but some places have good sales. Beautiful place to have a look at with out of town visiters, not so good for serious shoppers as would be expensive. Great quality second hand stores just opened up that's well worth checking out called "wear else". - opportunity main building. Parking can be an issue on weekends.
r.Fantastic space with great shops and cafes a cinema, Mrs B's flowers, She chocolate, artisan bread and much more. Then there's the Brewery pumping out amazing pizzas and craft beer! Finally the atrium is a vaulted sunny space for business events and weddings.
D.One of my favourite places to shop. Very boutique and very friendly, helpful service
L.I go for yoga at Grassroots Studio and then to Mitchellis for coffee or smoothie afterwards. Both places have amazing staff, great facilities and are very welcoming.

J.Went to see the band Elemnop at the blue smoke and it’s a really cool venue for live music. The food is good at the bar next door. I had the karange chicken and it was really yummy. The shops are good in the mall. Very boutique and cute. The second hand shop was expensive but has some cool items

C.Went for a celebratory High Tea. It was fabulous, the Gluten Free selection (photo2) was well enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and service was attentive. Would recommend.
M.If your looking for something different and unique, this could be the place for you. Be warned though, a lot of the shops are quite expensive and possibly not for the average shopper. Certainly worth a browse though and a nice place to go for a coffee, or something to eat. There is also a cinema that shows a different selection of films. The Tannery is certainly worth a visit.

L.Beautiful building, beautiful range of boutique shops. Quite expensive, but that's the target market I guess! Visiting She Chocolat is a must, it's divine. Gorgeous florist here too, and many gift shops with unique items. If you're happy to spend money on your clothes, there's an incredible range of very beautiful clothing here too, some at quite reasonable (designer) prices.

My Husband and I had a surprise wedding using both the blue smoke room and the Atrium.
We mainly dealt with Amy and her team and they were so amazing! I could not say enough good words about them.
Their response to emails, planning, excitement for your day was outstanding.
They took the stress out of everything and on the day they ran the show like pros - you hear about couples being stressed but this wasn't the case for us.
Nothing was to big of a deal for them, even when they only had 45 minutes to set up an entire venue to go from an engagement party in one room to a full on wedding in another room (with out anyone noticing!!!)
On top of that you have the added beauty of the venue and when those fairy lights go on its absolutely stunning!
Thanks Amy and the rest of the team, you are all amazing and we still can't thank you enough!

S.Here is a beautiful restored industrial site, converted to a chic , boutique shopping centre. You will find amazing delicatessen abundant with quality foods. In addition there is a luxury cinema, antique shops, cafés, designer clothing, up-cycled goods and trendy independent outlets. Parking is easy with a huge area allocated.

H.Great little theater what a pain with the food and wine being delivered when the movies started though. When the movies started food drinks shouldn't be served as we had staff passing food in front of us while we were watching the screen doubt we'd go back just so strange people would want cheese boards to eat during a movie but to hve them passed in front of you while the movies playing just doesn't seem right 😠

S.The apothecary was my absolute favourite shop out of the many and varied choice of boutique shops. I could easily spend a few hours here browsing. It also has a Recycle Boutique, which I used to frequent until the prices began to get a little too exhobitant. A tearoom, a cafe and a bar which opens at 3pm are all great options for refreshment or somewhere to park unenthusiastic spouses. I can't wait to come back to Chch again so I can treat myself to a mini shopping spree!
S.Nice to have live music but loud drum solos during lunch, while trying to have a conversation with friends, is a bit off putting. The smell from the industrial area.. is it the gelatin factory, is not great. But food nice.. get a table indoors and then it's not bad.

O.Awesome place if you want a botique shopping experience in Christchurch. One issue is the shortage of parking on the weekend (from my experience) On Tuesday it is extra busy because of the specials restaurants and some businesses have on. All in all a great place to go if you want a unique shopping experience or are looking around Christchurch for something unique and special to the area.

R.We had our Christmas Party in Blue Smoke and AGA. It was coordinated by the wonderful events team who oversee the whole area (including the Atrium). They were excellent to communicate with and went out of their way to accommodate our needs and help us out. They were very friendly, the set-up looked beautiful, and everything was clean and tidy. I would 100% have another function at the Tannery again and highly recommend to others they would also do so. Again thanks so much to the great team there - they helped to make our night so much more enjoyable and hassle-free!

R.I did my 2017 Xmas shopping here this year. Probably more expensive that what would normally be but I was able to browse a wide range of stores. Smiths bookshop is a place you could get lost in flicking through various pages until you end up buying way over budget because they have such quality. I got some pretty good finds in the second hand section
J.Nice hi end mall in an historic building, lots of funky design and boutique fashion stores, along with fancy cafes and an Art house cinema, even a good source dough bakery. You won't find Jeans West or McDonald's here, but that's kind of the point.
B.The outside area was great, a cold night but sheltered with outdoor heaters. Awesome that doggos can come in with their humans. Great food and the staff too

F.My son and I went to breakfast here. It was clean and tidy and staff helpful and friendly. Our meals were both good and although the price was a little bit on the expensive side it was enjoyable.

W.An eclectic mix of stores with fashion, homewares, art and craft, and jewellery all available; this is a great alternative to a stroll down Cashel St or to Riccarton Mall. Now much improved by the addition of the arthouse Deluxe Cinemas. And make sure you stop in to the always-excellent Mitchelli's Cafe for a spot to eat and drink!
P.Enjoy a beer at the Brewery here with good wood fire pizzas. House beers are good - Cassels and they have guest beers from around the country to give you some variety. Staff members are knowledgeable about the beers and can usually do a good pour.

D.We went to the brewery. Good food, service was polite and efficient, meals came out in good time. I got the heathcote pizza and the xtra pale ale.

S.A brilliant wee "mall" with none of the feel of the big Westfield centres - lots of unique shops and creative options. Maybe not the place if you are looking for a bargain but perfect for quality, often nz made or designed products.

Great cosy theatre and the cost was not exorbitant like the Hoyts movie theatres.

A.If your looking for something different and want style, look no further this place has a good range of shops that aren't your avgerage mall shops which makes for a great look around. The main part of the Tannery is a restored building which has lots of light and takes you back in time.

G.Interesting building, nice shops but they are expensive. Not somewhere you pop to get some clothes or a snack but it is good for presents or high end products.
