Reviews of Tauranga Crossing
S.
Good shopping experience for all the family and heaps of family activities, like movies game rooms and heaps of food options to chose from.
As a local Carpenter I was working here at the Tauranga Crossing for some time for jarrah, sub to Hawkins, who accomplished this great development. For the up and coming and present residents of TAURANGA CITY.
T.
It's good and convenient
Shopping mall is shopping mall though
J.
Why would you bother to go to Bayfair shopping centre, fight roadworks and port traffic when you get the same or similar shops at Tauranga crossing. There's plenty of gift shops, clothing shops, pie shops, juice bars, sushi and fast food to fill the grumbling belly. And let's not forget the little gremlins, there's a children's area to keep them busy for awhile. Maybe catch a movie or hit the games area if you're after an adrenaline hit
B.
Awesome shopping centre. Modern and new. Has everything a big city mall needs as well as major store brands. Cinemas, groceries, clothing, a food court and tonnes of car parking. It even has the store that sells the best pies in all of NZ (Patrick's Pie)
M.
Tauranga Crossing has many Retail Stores. A good variety of Food available in the Food Court. Also it has Event Cinema there which is Very Good.
J.
Lots of shops for the ladies, gents are left a little in the lurch. Also love that the food court is unusually high end for a mall but I wouldn't mind some cheaper fast food options to balance things out.
M.
This is a really grand shopping area for Tauranga and will draw people away from the more crowded CBD. The open strip mall opened a year or two ago and the enclosed mall opened in April 2019. It has all the usual clothing brand shops and a lovely open food court that looks over a nice playground area. The complex also houses a few cinemas with tickets that you can by from a kiosk. The whole complex has lots of natural light.
Of course, it would be nice to have a few other types of shops, like hardware - however The Warehouse is just a few steps away.
J.
*Below are photos of some stores down at the crossing*
Pros: I love the selections of stores that are already down at the crossing and the stores that will be down there.
Cons: The car part is very tight and a delivery truck unloads outside of the Mill house and blocks traffic. Because of this people drive dangerously.
A "Starbucks" store should be put down at the crossing.
A.
One of NZ's most well designed malls. Very well ventilated and stores are large and spacious and not crammed together willy nilly. The interiors are decorated beautifully and change with the season. There is a huge array of stores, but they are the same generic brands one would find in any shopping complex across the country. That being said, the mall has used its space to the fullest, with a ground and first floor, with parking on the outside of the mall on both levels.
The main staircase (yes, actual stairs!) that leads up from the food court, takes you upstairs to even more stores, specialty eateries and a movie theatre - Event Cinemas, which also features a V-MAX screen. The aforementioned eateries are siruated in thr upper level in an area apltly named The Observatory - which, given its elevation, has stunning views of the motorway, and the Tauranga/Tauriko traffic interchannge. On the other side of the mall are elevators and an escalator for those who are unable, or do not want to use the stairs.
The only drawback is the parking, which although huge and has space for over 1000 cars and has ample parking officials guiding the flow of traffic, is barely able to handle a busy Saturday arvo, as most of the cars there belong to employees who arrive there earlier in the day, and the parking officials dont know whether you're just entering or trying to exit as they all just seem to be guiding cars to the jam packed outdoor parking area or to the exit.
There is great potential for this mall should it introduce a few big name/ luxury brands into the complex as it could be a huge revenue generator, a local attraction, would make the mall stand out more than it already does and also would bring many more people who would come exlusively to visit these stores.
s.
Good infrastructure and architecture. Proper planning of store outlets with ample parking.
T.
Modern and bright mall, interesting shops are missing though.
S.
We like this new shopping center, H&M is here, lots of shops and a big cinema, beautiful and comfortable environment, if open time to 9pm will be perfect:)
I.
NICE modern shopping centre with huge expansion taking place.
Built for the increasing population in the area.
Huge expansion now opened.
S.
Tauranga Crossing est 2016.. Nice big aera big shops multi level mall beautiful scenic views. Go buy something
D.
New shopping centre with a mix of usual shops plus H&M and some others. Nice food court.
R.
Easy access good undercover car parking.
L.
Very convenient shopping mall with many brands.
T.
Got in early to check out the new additions.
From reports, very busy to find car parking here. A huge asset to Tauranga and surrounding district. Stage 2 of development worth the wait.
Spacious and all brand stores here.
Food court Upper and lower levels, outside kids park and cinema as well.
H.
Great variety of shops and eating places
S.
It's a reasonably good strip mall. Everything is very new. A bit of walking is required, as is usual for malls with a long string of stores around a car parking area. I prefer enclosed malls, but if you're going to have an open one, then do it like this.
It's very nicely done. Plus they have 4 free chargers for electric cars. :-);
L.
Incase like myself you are an Ecar owner looking to charge and have a Nissan Leaf... dont trawl around looking how to get to the bottom carpark as the charger beside the Tesla is not leaf compatible... the car park by the loop'snear Noel Lemming and Postie plus is where the slow charger is... the same speed as plugging into a power point at home... just trickle charge... so other than popping over to the Mount for a fast charge that's all there is ... a slow charge at the watehouse as well... so I believe.
J.
What a lovely new shopping venue. The latest shops that opened last week. A woman's dream of fashion stores and bars and eateries for the impatient men. Beautiful polished railing on stairs.plenty of parking covered and open parking.
R.
New 70+ shops. Event cinemas and food court is also new. H&M is here!! Well maintained and plenty of parking spaces. Great place to spend your weekends or holiday.
a.
we drove through a month ago & i thought what a nice shopping center like fashion island not knowing what was under ground .this past weekend we stayed at the mount & thought lets have a good look & oh my god what an amazing mall the shops stunning the food variety insane .then you get on here & see these, complaining people (wake up) .coming from rotorua this is dam cool .love to own a shop in this mall one day ,one of the cutting bars . 10 out of 10
J.
Very modern and flash mall. We were VERY impressed with the selection of food here. I wish the other malls around the country would have such good food options too.
M.
Good parking facilities. Easy to find your way around. Good shopping thank you.
I.
The Tauranga Crossing is a great suburban shopping area. It has almost every type of shop you'll need. And it will be even better when stage two is finished with a movie theatre and more boutique shops. Farmers will be in the area while the new building is being constructed down town.
J.
I went into the new bit of the crossing at about 5:45 and was told everything was closed and we tried to use the lift on the downstairs eatery and was told is was blocked of at the top by security and got told to not use it
Ps: Eatery should be opened later. Very lovely mall awesome graphics and complexes inside and lovely shops
r.
Great new Shopping centre,I can see this being a great venue for females to shop at, but for the average male, there isnt much there, no hardware or technology shops, ie, JB HiFi. The only plus for males is that there is somewhere to sit down and have a beer or coffee while we are waiting
A.
I’ve only been here a couple of times which is why only 4 stars for now. I need to go out there under my own steam on the bus and spend time on my own terms.
Meanwhile on my last 4 star visit (when I actually got out of my daughter’s car) I was impressed with the layout of Pak N Save (fresh, light, airy, spacious and ooooh the range of fresh/deli foods in particular was ‘to die for’) and The Wareouse fresh, light, airy, with plenty of space to maximise product display (that’s how I ended up getting my cool jersey dress that didn’t look as good in the town branch) and invite longer instore stays/more buying. Ambiance seems to be the by-word out here so check it out. You get both a drive out and the ultimate fun of Shopping! Who doesn’t love shopping??
V.
Thank you to the people of the Crossing.
I had reason to complain about a small matter. The management addressed it without delay... The Crossing remains my favourite BOP shopping centre and justifiably so.
Thank you
Von

Our first Tauriko mall food court experience, great building, well done, something to be proud of, however there is always something that stains what looks good, in this case the Pulled Chicken place, our first visit in the Mall 12-04-2019 at 18.30 hours, Two girls attending, young at that, that's okay, pushing a menu in your hands and ask you to dine in, the kids got Sliders, a plate with something on it of which most of it must have slit off on the way to the table, what was left was a small bun and some ships,,they did not like the bun with taste less chicken,
it goes on, so i ordered a quarter chicken, that on the menu comes with a salad and bread, in not to long of a wait the lady comes with my meal, a big plate with a piece of chicken the size of my hand palm...and that was it. So i called her and ask"is this it", yes you ordered quarter chicken right? Yes , i said ...but it comes with a salad and bread? right?"Well she said, the order must have been wrong". So i showed her the menu and she said,"O right, so what salad do you want"? Well the salad was not bad but the bread...a small cut of a french bread, and that for $16 , however the building experience was great, five stars, the food experience not even 1 star, it felt like the pulled chicken was pulling my leg, not filling my belly and then the taste of it...as a piece of steamed colour- less chicken
D.
Love this mall! Lovely selection of shops, and it’s a perfect go-to for the whole district. Can’t wait to see the 70+ shops that are opening in the huge expansion in April.
B.
Nice new mall, nothing too special just the usuall offerings in shops. But still a good facility.nice little outdoor area for chilling in
《.
Tauranga crossing offers a wide selection of stores to choose from with more coming this April. Really enjoy shopping here, and the Sharing Shed is of much higher standard than the one at Fraser Cove!
D.
Like this mall . New and clean. Not a pain in the butt to go like bayfair with typical mount / papsmoa gridlock
A.
Cinema, eateries and shops. Plenty of free parking. Easy access from over the other side of the Kaimai range.
J.
It is no news to me that the Bay of Plenty is an economic gem. For several years, Tauranga has been one of New Zealand’s fastest growing cities — part of the ‘Golden Triangle’ — which explains why it has recently overtaken Auckland in terms of housing demand; people want to live there and they want the lifestyle that goes with it.
And with having loads of experienced developers behind Tauranga Crossing, the talked-about new development is sooo unlocking the area’s potential. Situated a 12-minute drive from downtown Tauranga and 20 minutes from the heart of Mount Maunganui, the privately kiwi-owned retail and entertainment precinct — which will be the Bay of Plenty’s biggest on completion — is coming to life with help from Warren and Mahoney (the firm responsible for Auckland’s incoming International Convention Centre and downtown Commercial Bay).
An expansive, two-storey, indoor-outdoor dining district will sit alongside Event Cinemas (which will be pushing the boundaries with six cinemas, 1000 seats and New Zealand’s first purpose-built, world-class Vmax auditorium). The upper-level will feature an enticing range of restaurants that will spill out onto an alfresco dining terrace, while the lower level will offer a mix of more casual eateries set to share a larger outdoor garden. The line up will be carefully curated to provide a variety of cosmopolitan options for discerning locals looking to eat out.
J.
Really cool now with the new shops but maybe change the name to the lakes mall or shopping centre cause that’s what people are calling it. The crossing just don’t sound right
S.
Enjoyable mall to shop and have a bite to eat, modern, clean and tidy, plenty of parking.
N.
Modern layout and prepared for electric cars, but there's no chairs at parent's room for breastfeeding and no other area to do it privately either
P.
Pak n save you are soooo on to it for gluten free and all products but especially g/f puts Papamoa pak n save to absolute SHAME!!!!
Love Tauranga Crossing I'll travel from Papamoa East to use your clean modern helpful store

T.
Opened in March of 2019, Tauranga Crossing is a great destination for shopping, dining and entertainment. Located 10 minutes from downtown Tauranga.
