What an awesome mall An interesting eceptic range of shops situated in the old BNZ building It has a feel of luxury and a warm friendly ambience. Look at the time ball top of every hour. This is a unique mall well services with multiple cafes

There’s nothing particularly special about this arcade in my honest opinion. It’s become overly commercialized to suit a much older crowd. If you are 50+ years old then probably not a bad place to spend an afternoon.

Quite unique building, what used to be a bank. Definitely worth to pay a visit just to admire architecture and see famous clock, what plays music every hour and tells history about the bank. Make sure to walk up to stairs to see clock moving and hear music.

This must have some of the best interior design features of the Victorian era in New Zealand of significance. I particularly like the gold clock next to the Starbucks that rings. Excellent taste in Christmas decorations as well

Lovely food, arrived just before rush at lunch. Sadly it was extremely expensive for drinks. X3 light lunches over $100.00

It has beautiful shops with beautiful things but be prepared to SPEND SPEND SPEND, these stores are expensive as well as likely to make you feel unwelcome if you don't look your best or if they feel you don't have enough to be in their store...

They don't make buildings like this anymore. A beautifully restored heritage building with a grand design.

Located in the heart of the Wellington shopping district. Contains a variety of shops and businesses including cafes and coffee shops. Public and disabled toilets / rest rooms located inside. Is a wheel chair friendly facility. Has free WIFI.

A heritage building with an impressive architecture that houses a very good Indian restaurant. It is at a prime location in downtown Wellington.

One of my favourite buildings in Wellington. Houses Wellington renowned brands like Ruby, Richochet and I Love Paris.

What a place to wander thru..lots of lovely shops. Lots of people too...

I went for a nosey after getting a coffee from Starbucks, I love grand old buildings such as these, they really present class that rarely exists with modern day structures. A place with history. Worth the look if your into that sort of thing. The vault door still remains.

Big fan of the architectural vintage building design. Gives off an early 1900s feel if you can imagine it. Not as spacious as one would think, but they have a line of interesting stores (some locally owned too). There is also a section on the very bottom floor specifically marked (with seawater visible) as Wellington's original shoreline in the 1800s which I find fascinating.

I go there . Because I like at the Hare Krishna Restaurant Called Higher Taste . It is on the ground floor of the old bank arcade. I give it five stars . Because the staff are lovely and very helpful 😊 and patient when I take a long time making up my mind on what to order

A beautiful spot in the big smoke, a lot to do and a few hidden treasures.

The most beautiful building I have seen in person - absolutely spectacular.

I visited the phone shop. Quick service to put a protective cover on my phone.

Why would one ask for directions? Because the signage in this makeshift Lego house is shameful.

Lots of great boutique stores in one heritage building.

Quite nice old building, no clue about the shops... The Cafe there is ni e and the clock is telling a story every full hour.

Smith the grocer is an amazing cafe in the OBA. Also the architecture is beautiful. I always like to have work meetings over coffee when appropriate

Nice and luxurious design. I couldn't imagine how can they create this masterpiece building like this long time ago. Now, it is turned to a place full of cafes and restaurants. But the lovely an d warm atmosphere are still the same. I come here to drink Starbucks coffee and there is a clean toilet inside. Recommend!

It's a beautiful building. The shops are boutique, and kinda expensive, but it's a nice shopping experience and has good gifts and things to buy for others. There aren't as many shops on the lower levels, but the tunnel to the Aon tower is really handy when it's raining.

Love Smiths the Grocer's. Best Avocado on Toast anywhere! Lovely staff. Good coffee.

Great for an afternoon of shopping. Has a cafe with good food, not too pricey and good service. Clothing stores are on the expensive side but you pay for what you get and some little homeware stores too. Coffee is always flowing at either ends of the building. Just watch your step as it can get quite tight in a couple of places when it gets busy. All the people in the stores are super friendly too

Want great coffee? Smith the Grocer is the place to go, THEN LUSH :)

Good coffee , didn't have anything to eat so can't comment. However if the food is as good as the coffee ..... Looking good for another star.

Great Historical place to spend some time shopping or in cafes. It has an animated clock that goes off every hour with a bit of a show. Also on there is a real safe door from back in a days and underground tunnel to shops across the street. Pretty cool eh!

Retail and Office complex in Central Wellington near Lambton Quay.

Good exhibition on John Plimmer, the ship's wood pieces were great to see. Loved the statue him walking his dog.

Wellington's iconic - combination of shopping, cafe and restaurant! Good place.

A nicely modern revamp of a historic place that was quite light and airy. Prices in the shops are generally high, but here and there were passable items in terms of cost. Can get quite busy at times. It's not too hard to find one's way around, but there are a few places one can become disoriented. I spent a few hours there over a couple of days and found things familiar relatively quickly. However a person who struggles to find their way in unfamiliar settings could get flustered and temporarily lost. If nothing else, it's worth a stroll through. Quite a few opportunities for selfies and ”historic” pics.

Quirky. Love that it used to be an old bank and still has the original old safe. Clock opens and does a display on the hour. Recommend coffee and a slice at Smith the grocer.

The clock strikes on the hour and is a magnificent piece of kitchen, well worth a visit, get there a minute or so before the hour. Once you have enjoyed the show go down to the basement to see the spines of plummer arc through the glass floor.

Beautiful architecture and very historic, it is reminiscing of the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, when one is visiting Wellington, they should definitely pay a visit to this place. They also have a good selection of cafés and shops.

The Old Bank Shopping Arcade (ex-BNZ building) is full of 'olde' world charm with its mosaic tile-flooring, high ornate ceilings, moldings, columns, wooden fixtures and fittings of a bygone era. If you're nostalgic for yesteryear, a trip to this neck of the woods would be therapeutic as shops here have embraced the old along with the new. A string of banners outside the building facing Customhouse Quay, advertises the presence of these shops within the arcade. Cocooned from the hectic traffic just metres away the general pace within the walls of the Arcade is palpably slower, more gracious and much more relaxing. And then there are unique, points of interest to check out if you're a first-time visitor, such as the prominent, arcade clock and more*. * See Smith The Grocer Cafe for more 'points of interest'.

This is such a fun visit in downtown Wellington! Not only is it a beautifully restored historical bldg, but aside from the shopping and eating options, there are hidden little gems to discover! There is a little bit of a museum display of the old ship that was unburied on the grounds here with some really cool artifacts and parts of the ship itself! But, the thing to see here is the animated, singing clock that “performs” once an hour about 2-3mins before the hour. The best view is from the second floor. The little clock show, with fully animated dioramas telling the history of NZ & Wellington within the clock with accompanying music and narration is a sight to behold and is worth a visit to see in and of itself!

Heritage/iconic building right in the heart of the city. Many shops for clothing, fashion, cosmetics, spa, cafes in the building. Underground walkway connect right through to taste on Willis food court. The clock strikes every hour with songs and some introduction about the building.

Yes they have Starbucks, but the good coffee is at the other end. Definitely recommend lush soaps to get as a gift for the ladies. This arcade is handy to get from lambton quay to Willis Street, if you go by jb hi fi underground.

It's a lovely historical place to visit. It sports a few restaurants and gift shops. There's an antique clock that opens every hour and half hour to display a charming carousel.

Speciality shopping and cafés! Lovely diarama that tells the story of Wellington just before the hour. Find the stairs near the hanging globe and ascend to the second floor. The globe opens like a sectioned orange to tell the story. Awesome architecture and a wee underground museum.

Very sweet old place

Delightful and typically New Zealand, then again I guess it is in Wellington. Go walk around, eat something, browse, take in the historicity of it all and above everything.... just enjoy it. Well worth the time

There is a floor in this building where a call centre for Apple support has been set up. The conditions are quite bad and Concentrix does not allow their employees to be publicly critical of the company or its partners. Strange thing to be taking place in this seemingly innocent location.

Not an outlet mall at all. Range of boutiques plus a coffee place and cafe. De Spa chocolates are top class.

Lots of different shops in a classic and elegant arcade. Right in the heart of Wellington's CBD. Worth a look.
