M.Incredibly knowledgeable staff in this store. I came in for a few bits, some things I outright said to staff that I wouldn’t be purchasing on the day, however they still gave me their time and their knowledge on the products I was looking at. I did end up making a purchase and felt comfortable parting with my pennies knowing I was getting the right product for my needs. Can’t wait to shop here again when next in Christchurch.

S.Good parking, drove straight into a park. First time we'd ever been to a Bivouac Outdoor store. Was expecting a small shop but was pleasantly surprised to see how large it was.
Great range of stock here. The store was lovely and tidy with decent walk through to get to view products.
With the product we were after, the size wasn't available. However, that wasn't a problem as they sourced one from their Dunedin store (which only took a day or so).
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Great place to source all your outdoor needs.

J.Chris and the team here are aces. They always have great advice. I went in looking for waterproof overpants. One of the team helped me understand the different waterproof treatments and weights of fabrics and considerations for different activities. I felt fully informed before making my decision. Very helpful.
They have good stock levels and loads of clothing and shoes on the clearance sale tables and racks.
They support outdoor club members with good deals as well.

J.One of our favourite outdoor stores, we’ve found the staff friendly and also respected we were there to browse at times. Sometimes staff seemed otherwise occupied but still took time to help. Being weekend warriors, we’ve found the store to have a good range of gear, and excellent IceBreaker range. The sales section is always worth a look too!

K.Fantastic selection of gear for the outdoors. Perhaps I should say the well heeled outdoors people. Even though they have a sale going, it was fairly pricey. However the goods and brands were some of the best available. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and keen to help us find what we wanted. Some goods ranges were for the young and very fit, not old fogeys like us who are getting a bit beyond free climbing. A flat Bush walk is more our style these days. The sizes they had in most ranges were for quite tiny, very fit people. Well worth a look if you are serious about the outdoors. To be totally fair, they are at the crossover point heading towards autumn and winter. A very attractive, interesting store

C.Bivouac outdoor have been very good to deal with. They are always helpful in store, and recently I had a warranty claim, which the staff were very helpful with, and resolved within a day of dropping off the item. Thanks team.
E.Can't fault their customer service. I was acknowledged on my way in and when I wanted assistance, the lady I approached was busy with another customer but saw to it that another sales assistant looked after me.
I was in the store less than ten minutes and had purchased exactly what I went in for.

K.Came in to this store upset about a broken tent that i got from one of their auckland stores. After my rant they calmed me down saying that they will do what they can to fix it for me. I expected them to call their supplier and wait tell me to wait half a week but they managed to find a spare from a different tent that they custom modified to solve my problem. Over the top service that exceeded my expectations by far!

W.Huge selection of outdoor wear from reputable brands. Large warehouse- like setting and only 2 changing rooms open, however a very helpful staff member unlocked another one for me. Excellent sales racks with 40percent savings. I ended up buying 3 fabulous merino garments, very high quality.
T.Great products for the outdoors but the range of brands and product was limited probably due to covid affecting overseas shipping so it made it hard to find something that suited.

M.A really good store with a wide range of quality equipment. The staff were knowledgeable and able to help me find the right gear. They took the time to help me find the right back by showing me the different options and trying each one on. With my sleeping bag, I had an idea of what I wanted. They took that and gave me more information to help me make an informed decision.

C.Excellent range BUT the staff often does not seem to know what they are talking about, which is frustrating. Fairly poor customer service to, with some of the staff members who don't really seem to care much about engaging with (keen) customers. Frustrating because the store looks awesome and the gear selection is great.
T.Had to wait around for about 20 mins in the camping area before I was approached, went to the front of the store and was approached immediately. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Went looking at sleeping bags ended up buying shoes. 🤣
A.Really good place to stock up before your next adventure. I suppose the staff could be more affable and lack of paywave caught me by surprise a couple of times when I wanted to pay with my phone. In general it's a very nice place selling top of the range brands.
R.The staff was friendly. It was the sales period and I felt the stock was a bit low. Nevertheless, I could order the missing items for pickup at the store. A large variety of equipment. Not a large variety of brands (e.g., Beal ropes only, BD harnesses only, ...)
F.I think this shop is great. A few people on here have complained saying staff are unattentive but I would would prefer that than being pested by annoying staff who are willing to say anything to sell you stuff. I like to not be harrassed when looking around a shop. Keep it up. I'm sure anyone with half a brain can pick out what they want to buy themselves, and if they need a hand they will come and find you :)
J.I love this place. It’s an outlet so the prices are generally reduced for end of season clearance etc, plus there are frequent sales.
The brand range is wide compared to Macpac or Kathmandu and also has a great accessories and specialist equipment section (GoPro, climbing ropes, harnesses, helmets, head lamps etc)

P.It's a pretty big outdoor store. Actually the whole mall in that area is dedicated to outdoor stores. They often have some great deals and when you get to the checkout, sometimes the prices are even lower.
K.A great service on boot fitting. Measured my foot length and width and suggested a boot. Fitted perfectly! I only found this out after trying on around 29 other boots in multiple stores until returning here for said boot.

Only minus one star for the prices as they tend to be bit more expensive than some online retailers. However I would much rather buy from here than Macpac, torpedo7 etc as they tend to cater to a more casual audience
T.A classic bivouac shop with a great range of quality outdoor equipment, one of the only places in Christchurch you can physically try on and buy speedcross trail running shoes! (They also have a solid range of outdoor GPS watches)

E.Huge amount of outdoor gear. Often the only place to get reasonable climbing gear. A few options that are rare-ish in New Zealand such as Paragonia, The North Face, and Arc'Teryx.
