S.Excellent service and reasonable prices. The gals here were super friendly and were extremely helpful in getting me a replacement part in quickly, for a crucial piece of gear to do the Tararuas as part of TA. Bivouac had become my go-to and I hold this one in particularly high regard.
b.Honestly the best place that we have got our hiking and camping gears from mainly because of the awesome customer service and it's usually had what we needed. The team in palmy are always nice and extremely helpful.
Would recommend 10/10 👌.
Ps: gears that they sell are top, but always do your research to make sure it's what you want.

R.Well, I went to try on hiking boots
with the possibility of purchasing. I was impressed with the guy who showed me a few pairs of footware and about each shoe description and making sure they were fitted properly and by using a board which I had to pretend to be walking down a hill and if my feet came forward it was a bad fit. I had never seen this before. Anyway this particular staff was very helpful and informative. Thanks Bivouac.

R.Nice shop but it's like all the other outdoors type shops most of the clothes are above my pay grade.
I'll tell you what are good though "Osprey Tramping packs". I have an Aether 70 AG and I'll let you into a secret, they are superior to the packs from "Tonka" and a lot cheaper, but that's just my view. Check them out. Almost forgot life time warranty also.

J.Going for a big tramp tomorrow so went here today to get some tramping boots, went there first, their service was so good that when i went and hand a look at macpac (not bad service but not very good boots) and other stores i felt like i was wasting my time (i was) the guys at Bivouac were a few levels above in service and in totally different league in terms of product offering. (The fact they stock ice breaker is a give away that they are the best outdoor clothing store in town) The tramping boots they recommend 1st were the ones i came back to and boy oh boy they are impressive boots. Worth every cent. Bottom line is Bivouac know their gear so it pays to listen. From now these guys will be my only choice for outdoor clothing, as you can't put a price on good advice. Thanks guys. Great store. 6 out of 5 stars!
C.Nice outdoor shop, has everything you need to head outdoors
M.I am a larger woman who is healthy, active and adventurous. I went in to Bivouac Outdoors last year after two very negative experiences with other outdoor shops in the local area. I was having a lot of difficulty getting a raincoat that fit as I have large hips. The sales assistant knew her products and could identify a range of outdoor wear that was most appropriate for my shape and size. We found a great jacket that fit well. I wanted a slightly bigger size so I could wear heavy sweaters under it for tramping and she was happy to order it in. She also gave me information on how to look after it. She was both friendly and professional and I left the store feeling great. This was a very positive experience for me as I found my previous couple of experiences very shaming. I accept that not all outdoor stores will sell gear suitable for everyone, but the way this was dealt with in other places left me feeling like the sales assistants believed I had no place in the out doors because of my shape. Btw the jacket has been great and had already served me well on my trip to see the Northern Lights in Norway.
C.Excellent service, I went in wanting Tramp shoes not an easy task as I have narrow small foot. Tried the speed cross sooo comfortable, used for TA but not for hours tramping highly recommend the shoe.
Ended up getting Merrill more suited for hiking.
Their service was exceptional and outstanding highly recommend this store.

Not somewhere I would have normally shopped but will certainly be going there. Sure beats hunting and fishing for the gear they carry.
P.As good as it gets in NZ for proper outdoor gear. If you need something to stand up to a bush bashing, then Bivouac is the only genuine outdoor store locally. Always helpful and experienced staff make purchasing the right product for the job straight forward.
