We just bought some fine shoes from a fine lad named Alan. He was generous enough to sell us some hole-free footwear. That seems an odd thing to mention, but with the fierceness that another client was screaming at him about her hole ridden shoes (self inflicted holes), we feel it bears mentioning. For real though, great customer service from a really nice guy who kept his cool despite a straight up crazy lady yelling at him. Conveniently, the shoes fit great too!

Popped in just before closing as feet were hurting after purchasing incorrect sized shoes at shoe clinic in Auckland. The guy that help me purchase a pair of Hoka One One shoes was very helpful and the shoes I purchased fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable - so thank you for your help

First- class service. I hike the Te Araroa and I suffered the Last section to Q-town, I really needed new shoes- Lee- Ann helped me in the Downtown Shop and took a lot of time for me, measured my foot perfectly and sold me the best shoe I ever had. Thank you for the service- I can now continue walking the Te Araroa.

Exemplary customer service from Alan at Frontrunner. Not only did he sort me out with a great pair of shoes to relieve a painful foot condition, he promptly organised a replacement pair when I noticed a manufacturing fault. Highly recommended.

Awesome shop. Me and my boyfriend had a thorough consultation before buying a great pair of running shoes each. We learnt about our feet and styles of running before being shown multiple pairs of trainers. Scott was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly he's an asset to the store and we will certainly be returning when we need another pair of shoes. Highly recommend! Thanks Scott!

Stopped in to purchase a pair of running shoes and had a fantastic experience. We were a little bit early but the staff let us in anyway, they gave us exceptionally good service and the salesperson with 20+ years experience helped find the perfect fitting shoes as well as explaining why our current footwear was so uncomfortable.

I have a lot of boxes I need to tick off when I buy a pair of shoes. I called into the store and Howell answered the phone, he immediately had a lot of advice and options for me (as well as an invite to their weekly run) before I even got into the store. I tried on his recommended shoe for my needs and it was the one I ended up getting after exploring all the options. Couldn't be happier with the stores inventory and Howell's customer service and our shared love of Altra brand shoes was great. Will definitely be back for my next pair of shoes.

A big shout out to Paul, Alan and the team at The Frontrunner Queenstown store. Just loving my trail walkers. The service and fit was second to none. If you are after new trainers, then go and talk to these guys, they know there stuff.

The person who helped me select my shoes was very helpful and seemed to know brands well. I found a pair that fit very well, and I was told the socks were on sale so I got some smart wool socks too. (My only regret is forgetting that shoes are expensive in New Zealand compared to the US, and even though my current shoes were falling apart I probably should have waited until I was back in the US to get new running shoes. This was a very expensive purchase for me. If you are a tourist it might be wise to check if you can get a better price back home.)

Leon Jim did a great job helping to fit & select the best trail shoes for my South Island hiking adventure. It’s important to have the right shoes so your feet don’t sabotage your adventure. Leon Jim is the perfect person to set your feet securely on the trail.

I was looking for studs for my mtb shoes and was advised to go to Front Runner avoiding going all the way out to Frankton. Paul has so much knowledge and great advice on Rugby boots & Football studs as well as trainers and and sport apparels. Great Shop

Had to buy some emergency hiking boots while travelling through NZ because the soles of both shoes came off in the middle of one of our hikes. Bad timing. The guy who serviced us at the shop (wish I had asked his name) was super helpful. He was very knowledgeable and efficient and narrowed options down for me very quickly as we didn't have much time. He was great. Walked away with a great pair of solomons. Very happy. The girl there was also very helpful with giving us some great tips for our trip to wanaka. Lovely people, great service and very happy with my shoes.

Can't rate these guys enough! I spent well over an hour in the store today & I lost count how many shoes I tried. I've struggled to find running shoes to work with my orthotics (since surgery). They staff were both extremely patient & tried very hard to find something to work. "The problem child" will return, my foot needs to heal more before I can run. Thanks guys you rock!

I have just bought Altra zero drop running shoes in which to run the Motatapu Off Road Marathon . Did one 35kms training Walk/run a week before the event with no problems arising from that . On race day these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever run in . Multiple river crossing and seven hours and twenty nine minutes later we finished and I had no issues with my feet . Thank you Paul , who is now at The Queenstown Central Branch , for all your invaluable service and advice on shoe selection and the Gurney 400 . Thanks.
