Best bike mechanical service found in town. I had some problems with my time trial bike after a long travel on the plane and they were super keen on helping. Attention to every detail, fast service and nice people. Recommended

Kazu is an awesome boot fitter. He has years of experience and is super knowledgeable about any boot issue you can imagine. He is recommended by all of the local skiers. He has worked with me and my friends to fine tune any issues in our boots including 2 of us with knee and ankle injuries. He gives affordable options and is honest about what you really need rather than simply selling you everything.

Best service you can get anywhere thanks to Kazu. He didn't oversell us on products and he gave us solid advice we really needed for our upcoming trip. Thanks Kazu! We also needed a quick bike repair before our said trip. We were lucky to meet Angus who went over and above expectation in fixing my bike and making sure it was ready for the ride ahead. Highly Recommended! If you miss phenomenal, knowledgeable customer service, then I suggest you stop in at Outside Sports Wanaka! I purchased a new mountain bike from Scotty on the weekend to become one of those people with 'all the gear but no idea'. But after purchasing he spent 1 solid hour setting the bike up to fit me and explaining everything about the bike and its functions. Blown away by this experience! Thank you mate.

Great bikes! Full suspension e-bikes (Specialized Turbo Levo) that made seeing Wanaka and the local trails a blast. They were amazing!! Well maintained bikes and the shop attendant took the time to adjust everything for our height/weight. Explained everything thoroughly. He also gave us great advice on local trails! Better then one of the other bike stores in town we talked to earlier. Upon returning the bikes a different a shop attendant greeted us who was even friendlier and took the time to show is his own bike and take it for a test ride. So overall a great experience. BUT. When we first arrived the store didn't have an attendant, only 2 bike mechanics which more or less ignored us while we stood at the counter for minutes. We actually left and came back and it happened again. So, overall definitely worth the wait. Would have given 5 stars except for the initial experience. I would still recommend this store to anyone going to Wanaka!

Definitely recommend this shop to get your gear from. The 2 young guys that served us were super friendly and helpful and got us some nice gear for the mountain! They made it super easy for us with days that we weren’t able to use the gear due to the weather without being charged and simply for that reason would go back again. Efficient way of operating!

My wife and I chose this shop to rent skiing and snowboarding gear for our weekend at Cardrona. We chose the Premier level rentals since we're visiting from Canada and have years of experience shredding in the Rockies. We booked online, but couldn't tell if this streamlined the process at all. If a couple more questions were asked online, the gear could've been prepared prior to our arrival. The staff was very friendly and professional in getting everything set up for us though. The reason I can't give five stars is because some of the gear was a bit old and worn. Their website describes the premier range as top of the line equipment, and my snowboard was certainly top of the line but a 2012 model. I couldn't believe a 7 year old board would be in their premier range! The bindings paired with it were worn and fraying with a loose buckle, and far too flexible for this type of board. The Salomon Titan boots are super basic bargain bin level and felt sloppy. The staff member was super helpful in trying to find a boot that would best fit me, pulling out four different pairs from the back, but none fit particularly well. We discovered the bonus of being able to purchase our lift tickets here, so that was a great time saver!

Really great customer service! It was really nice as first time snowboarders that they tested us for which foot should be in front and fixed our boots to our board so it was easier to carry. really affordable and a great option to save money rather then renting gear at the mountain.

Great rental shop. We got a pair of skis and a board for 4 days and the kit was perfect for the dump of snow we had. Guys and gals were really helpful picking the kit and dropping it off. Highly recommend and good value for the rental price!

Got help from a young chap in the store. Even at his a young age he truly know how to entertain a client and was very tentative on what my problem with my son's snowboard. The problem seems complex but he was able to fix and that really save us to buy a replacement one. Will definitely come back and 5 stars for their sincere service. Thanks a lot.

Fantastic customer service over the phone and in store. I also just purchased a jacket online using the Outside Sports international shipping service ....they managed to get the parcel to my son working in Canada in time for Christmas, swerving the Canadian postal strike backlog. Had many issues with my bike for the past few weeks and came in 3 times at least. They helped me even when they were quite full (they always are) and once I was allowed to borrow a tool and fix a small thing myself even. The 4 guys all seemed happy about their work and the environment is relaxed. Certainly going back when in Wanaka and in need of repairs.

Excellent service. I flew to Wanaka from Auckland and forgot my through axel. The team and Outside Sports went the extra mile to take one from one of their demo bikes for me to borrow for a couple of days. Wouldn't have been able to ride without it!

Myself and my partner hired a couple of bikes to ride around Wanaka. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bikes we hired were only a couple of weeks old and we're in great condition. By the end of the day my thighs were burning from a terrific ride to Glendhu Bay. Would definitely hire from Outside Sports Wanaka again.

New Zealand is a weird and wonderful place. Especially when you arrive at the Wanaka Outdoor Sports bike store. I got heaps of awesome service and help on the spot, Rick even made up some new bolts for me to replace the ones i stripped out. Great range of gear, hopefully one day i will be back for some of those POC sunnies. Totally impressive service and the workshop looks very nicely run.

Great service, great products! I walked by the Outside Sports shop in Wanaka with my mother, grandmother and my 2 girls, the Icebreaker jacket in the window was what caught my eye, inside there were so many great outdoor things to buy. My mum bought an Icebreaker bliss wrap cardigan, my grandmother bought the Icebreaker Willow T-shirt. I bought myself a merino loft icebreaker jacket and some great adidas gear for running. The girls got some new sunglasses that they love. What a great store for everyone of all ages with a passion for the outdoors! I'm so glad to hear that they also sell online, we will be shopping with you again soon.
