Running - a word that can inspire and provoke dread in equal measure. As a late comer to running (only taking it up in my late 20's), Gaz successfully coached me to complete my first full marathon in 2009, got me back into running after my children were born, and after a recurring tendon injury. He takes a holistic approach to run coaching, factoring in work, home and other pressures, and adjusting the training accordingly. For runners like me that enjoy solo running and have to juggle running with a changing work and home schedule, the personalised coaching service Get Running offers is invaluable. Get Running also offers group running for those runners who enjoy a group dynamic and the motivation running with a like minded group can provide. So if you are not a runner but want to get into running, or if you a runner who wants to improve your running - you can't do better than Gaz and his team. Not only will they help you to get running but to keep running and keep running well.

I've really enjoyed starting from zero to training with the 5km club and now onto bigger runs! Lots of support, friendly environment and excellent coaches has made this a highlight of my week. I've learnt a lot and made some lovely new friends.

Get Running has helped me achieve many running goals over the years. And I've made some lifelong friends along the way. Gaz and his team provide excellent coaching and support to members of all abilities and have created a fun and welcoming running community.

Gaz has been my coach for nearly two years now. After 5 prior years of pretty intensive training on my own, within 4 months I took 8 minutes off my marathon time, and 6 months later almost 5 minutes off my half PB. I can also now run a 5k in 20.30. Not bad for someone of 50 with no prior history of athletics. He's taught me that obliterating yourself on every training run is not the best answer, but to focus your efforts and know your weaknesses which has resulted in a more measured and ultimately successful approach. Can't wait to see where we go next.

GR is a safe place that supports all abilities to start running (like me) and also has a whole bunch of amazing runners to both be inspired by and learn from. Its also really fun and super friendly.

A great team of coaches that have created a running community for all ages and ability levels. My running over the past two years has continued to progress and I look forward to continue achieving my goals with Gaz and the team.

I've been working with Gaz for 6 months or so now to work up to a sub 3:00 marathon. It's coming up fast and the journey has been great. Having someone there helping make decisions and developing the training plan for you really help give you confidence. Looking forward to sneaking under 3:00 at Hawkes Bay (fingers crossed).

Following a recommendation from the physio, I rocked along to the club feeling a tad nervous to meet Gaz Brown the founder of Get Running. I had been worried it would be full of those stringer bean type people!
But I was delighted to meet people of all abilities. Some people had come through the learn to run 5km club, others were heading into middle distances and then we have the ‘halves’ and ‘fulls’. Everyone was super friendly and happy to be setting the day up the right way.
Gaz and the coaches, Leanne, Johnno and Dobbo are just excellent and helpful, with whatever you are hoping to achieve. I have steadily improved and always with goals to work towards, I am proud to have completed my first half marathon with a huge smile on my face.
I can’t recommend it highly enough, and have made fabulous friends in a wonderful club - oh and there is coffee! That alone is worth the visit!

Get Running was recommend to me a couple of years ago when I realised that I needed to get some structure in my running. It’s been an amazing trip since then. Aside from four great coaches - Gaz, Dobbo, Leanne and Jonno - the wide range of runners and personalities in the club creates a real sense of community/family. I now can’t imagine running without it.
