We had a great surf lesson with Felipe at Piha Surf Academy. There was just the three of us in the lesson and all of us caught the first wave we tried to catch! We even got some green waves in our first lesson. I really enjoyed the whole experience and the coaching from Felipe was fantastic. We were given a clear safety briefing on the shore and easy-to-remember instructions for how to catch our first wave. Can't wait for the next lesson! 🤙

I just wanted to say a big thanks for this morning. I loved the small group of 3, the slow start and Felipe was wonderful with my 9yo. He made her feel really secure and didn't play into her fears. Encouraging but not pushy and when she packed up early he bodysurfed with her instead. Hero! And she had a great time, was all smiles and can't wait to return. ☺️

Excellent experience. I’ve never surfed before in my life and the instructors were absolutely fabulous and also very patient. The team are lovely and the lessons are suitable for all ages. By the end of the lesson, I was able to stand on my board and surf the (small) waves. My Parnter and I got our vouchers from GrabOne - Such a good value for money! I would highly recommend the Piha Surf Academy for anyone who hasn’t tried surfing and also it is a must do activity if you are on holidays visiting in the area. There’s a lovely little restaurant just a few steps away to grab food straight after too. Thanks again, we’ll definitely be back!! Leanne & Will.

I bought a 3 back of private lessons but loved it so much I fit one more lesson into my trip! Alex, my instructor was very helpful. We started each lesson going over safety which helped with my confidence in the water. I would definitely do again!

I have been surfing for 5 years and I was searching for private training to take my surfing to the next level. I found Piha Surf Academy and its great packages. I booked the 5 lessons package and I did my last lesson last week. The instructor was constantly giving me feedback in the water which help me correct old bad habits I was dragging throughout the years. I highly recommend Piha Surf Academy for beginners and intermediate surfers.

I took a progressive package last year with Piha Surf Academy and had a great time! Their instructors are very patient and got me surfing green waves by the end of the package! Big shout out to Parker for the time in the water and Chelsea for being so helpful with organising my difficult lesson times!

We had the most fun with my friends learning to surf with Piha Surf Academy. The instructors were great and the lady who booked us in was very friendly and patience with our English. I will definitely come back to Piha for more waves!!

Wife bought me a gift certificate for a private lesson I talked to the owner and let them know what I wanted to work on. They made sure I had the right conditions for the right learning opportunities - evening talking me out of a couple of bookings I tried to make. That's true customer service - putting my goals first. Lesson was great and the conditions were perfect. First rate.

I researched for different surfing spots to learn to surf in Auckland and found Piha beach. The waves were great and the staff at Piha Surf Academy were amazing!! I highly recommend Piha for your first surfing experience. Anna

PSA absolutely great for beginners! I was a bit afraid, but Parker (the instructor) helped me get over my nerves and I even stood on the board! Such an awesome day. Will definitely go back!

They’ve inspired a city kid with the stoke of surfing. Had our grom with them for the past 2 years. Family friendly, educational, safe and dependable.
